Hi Sarah-Thank you so much for all of the information you and other have posted. We got our interview today scheduled for May 23rd. Very exciting! I was thinking I'd be a month behind you and I guess I was right. Madrid does seem to do things in an orderly fashion lately.

    Hi Alexis!

Congratulations on receiving the date! I am very happy for you, you are almost there!!

I am sorry for the late response, I wanted to give you some insight of how everything went…

As you know, my appointment was on the 25th. I am not from Madrid, so I traveled there twice, a week prior to the appointment, to get the medical exam done, and a second time for the interview. The medical examination took around 2 hours total, they will give you directions to a second location about 20 minutes away, for the x-ray. In the embassy, I spent less than 2 hours.

Overall, the whole process went very well. The interview it self took around 10-15 min, they will call you 3 times by your number. First to check the paperwork, the second time to take your fingerprints and the last step is the interview. I promise It is nothing to worry about, they asked very basic questions and every one that I encountered was very nice.

Just make sure to have all the paperwork in order and to get your medical examination with enough time for the embassy to receive the results.

They will keep your passport and send it through post, if you haven’t yet, you must register and provide the address before the interview. I received my passport at home, with the visa yesterday! 🥳 It only took over a week to arrive. I will be, finally, reunited with my husband on the 15th 🫶🏻

I wish you all the best!! 🍀🤞🏼

    Kind regards,
    Sarah

Hi again! Thanks for your reply! I hope you get your appointment soon. I think I'm about 3 weeks behind you. Our DQ date was 1/23. I haven't found much information about recent interviews. I will let you know if I find anything in other forums. I'm sure you'll have news before I do.

    Sincerely,

    Alexis

Hi Alexis! I hope you are doing great 😊

    Hi Sarah,

Congratulations on getting DQd! You are nearly at the end of it all.

The interview went really well, it was very simple. In total it took about 2-3 hours since they first check the original documents you uploaded (marriage certificate and birth certificate) and if everything is okay you proceed to the interview. I was only asked a few questions about our marriage but in general very straight forward. At the end of the interview they tell you if the visa has been approved and you recieve your passport 7-10 days after.

As far as I know waiting time in Madrid is taking about 3 months after DQ to receive the interview appointment email but maybe this will speed up after the holiday season.

I wish you all the best!

    Hi Melissa,

I am very happy for you! Congratulations on getting through everything!!

Thank you so much for your answer and for your good wishes, I can’t wait to finish the whole process.

I wish you all the happiness in the world for this new chapter!! 🫶🏻

Congratulations.  Wishing you all the best for the interview.  If we get anymore today, then it is a bonus for new year, if not certainly early next week.  We get it.

PLEASE CONFIRM - I believe it is two emails coming,  one as status change and another one in the subject line it says "Documentarily Qualified" and if you login to nvc, it says all ACCEPTED and DOCUMENTARILY QUALIFIED.

We actually received 3 emails; 1 with the status change and 2 (duplicated) with the DQ notice. The email said all documents have been checked and accepted. In the ceac page it says accepted next to all documents and we had 2 messages (duplicated) that said “Documentarily Qualified”

I scanned through this thread and compiled this table.  Also I was waiting to see NVC's new timeline this morning.  THEY ARE DOING GREAT.. doing review in 42 days.  They reviewed till 10/24/2022.  If the same pace is maintained.. here is what my estimate, we should start getting cheers as early as 12/13/22 Tuesday.

Do you guys think they will keep up the pace over Christmas time?

Hi, good luck to you too!

may I know what proofs of income you submit in the first submission?

    thank you

    Thanks! Of course you may…

We submitted the I-864 form and 3 years of tax transcripts.

They accepted them, however asked for my husband to submit a proof of employment.

I think is because he started to work in US on summer this year. He is American, but had never work there as his parents moved to Spain when he was a teenager.

Now we have submitted the job offer letter as well as pay-statements that proof he exceeds the HHS Poverty Guidelines.

I hope this is good enough and we get DQ soon 🤞🏼

  7. Hi Everyone!

We submitted all docs on the 13th of October. On the 26 of November we received an email of a case updated, they accepted all docs and requested more proofs of income from petitioner.

We resubmitted what the asked for on the same day (26th of November).

I hope they don’t take over a month again to review the case. This process is very draining 😔

Best of luck to everyone 🤞🏼

I will keep you all posted!

  8. Hi everyone!

After over a month of waiting we have finally heard from the NVC. The email said there had been an update on our case and to log in to the webpage to check.

All documents have been accepted but we had 2 messages.

1- Please submit petitioner’s Evidence of Income. For more information, visit https://nvc.state.gov/fin

2- This case does not meet the minimum income requirement to sponsor the intending immigrants. To avoid delays, an additional Affidavit of Support Form I-864 from a joint sponsor may be submitted. For more information visit https://nvc.state.gov/aos. The consular officer will make a decision regarding this requirement at the time of the interview. For more information, please visit https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p.

My husband has now submitted pay-statements proving his income exceeds the 125% of HHS poverty guidelines.
Having said all this, I have few questions I hope you guys can help us with:

    - Is the case moving forward to the interview scheduling step?

    - Does the case need to be reviewed again? If so, do they take long to do so? Or will the documents be reviewed at the interview?

    - Are we supposed to get an email stating the case state?

    - Should we be worried?

Thank you so much for your help!!

    Kind Regards,

    Sarah

    Hi Sarah,

Just wanted to keep you updated and let you know we received our interview appointment for mid December. In total we waited about 10 weeks from when we received the NVC approval.

Wish you the best of luck and hope you get your appointment soon!

    Hi Melissa,

Thank you so much for giving us the update, it really helps to have an idea. We really appreciate it! I am very happy for you and I wish you all the best with the interview! 🤞🏼Let us know how it goes!

  10. Hi Everyone,

We have submitted all docs for the NVC to review (yesterday) and was hoping the interview scheduling would be the quickest part of the process, after reading some post I have doubts… I see that in some cases it takes months to get the interview appointment.

We started the process back in Sept 2021. Therefore, this is the priority date of the application. Does anyone know if the priority date has an effect on the process?

    Thank you for your help!
