Thanks @watashi  for the update.  I must admit since Ms Spotty's approval last Fall, I haven't been as keen as following the exploits of the USCIS.  I did notice at the bottom of each office there was a "Case Inquiry Date" which is now the official "don't contact us if your NOA is after this date."   I've made a comparison between that and the final monthly report from the old system. 

I do want to say that with the implementation of this new system (especially with the lack of formal reporting period), this will likely be my final report for all the field offices.

Here is the latest list (sorry for lack of online updates last couple of months).  The USCIS enters 2018 with 7 offices still reporting dates from 2016 (with 11 total offices over a year behind in processing).  Full list can be found here.

i started tracking the N-400 data while waiting for my wife's application to be processed.  We had a history of slow service through our Memphis field office.  I haven't been as diligent since her ceremony in November, but still like to keep it updated and I think it helps give "big picture" of overall processing.  That said, I don't put too much stock in the actual dates outside of the fact that the USCIS won't do anything if your date is after the posted date.

I would guess that some field offices don't really want any official records of past reports given how slow they are moving (looking at Florida and Texas FOs) or how much they fluctuate back and forth in times. I would love to know what (if any) official process there is for coming up with the dates.  Take the Pittsburgh office in this month's list (dated Nov 30, 2017)... it had the most recent processing time of N-400 of July  (a jump of over 2 months over the prior list).  I can almost guarantee that next month, the Pittsburgh office will drop back in processing time.

I think about the only official historical data you will find is the Immigration and Citizenship Data page on the USCIS website.

N-400: November 2016 Applicants

As of yesterday, Mrs Spotty (along with 42 other people from 27 countries) became a citizen of the United States.  Even though she just missed the last election, her first order of business was to register to vote.  Passport application this weekend.

As for, God willing, not having to deal with the USCIS anymore... I think Bugs Bunny sums it up best.

Here is the list posted a couple of days ago for September 30, 2017.  While there are a lot offices crossing into 2017 dates this go around, there are now 4 offices that have fallen behind over a year in processing (Houston, Dallas, Oakland Park and Miami). Oakland Park is incorrectly listed as having the slowest time for the month; it is Houston, and has been fixed on the master list.  (Due to the size of the table on the master list, I had to add in a scroll bar at the bottom)

Here is the latest report from all the field offices reporting.  This month marks the first time that the Greer, SC office does not have the most recent processing time (that honor goes to Helena, MT).   In addition, the Queens, NY field office fell back and claimed the slowest processing time for the month.

Mrs. Spotty received her oath ceremony notice.  It is scheduled for November 9th.  Finally, the end is in sight!

The wife had her interview last week and based on others in the forum I would guess that Memphis is unofficially around late Dec  in their processing.

My wife had her interview this week and her 10 year GC expired back in February (we applied back November).  Nothing was said about the expired card and her application was approved.  We did not try to get a passport stamp.

USCIS released the latest data set for N400 applications yesterday for the 3rd quarter of 2017 (April 1 to June 30, 2017).  The report is very informative as it gives actual application numbers for each field office.

Here is the cumulative data compared for 2016-17:

A definite improvement of the number of applications processed over the quarter and the first drop in total pending applications.

Since I've seen the question asked a couple of times in the past year about submitting an N-400 application with an expiring (or expired) green card, I wanted to share my wife's experience.

Standard disclaimer, this was our experience and may or may not reflect current or future USCIS policy.  The wife had her interview today (9/20/17) in Memphis.  We applied back in late November, 2016 and her official NOA date was 12/2/16.  Her 10yr green card expired on 2/26/17.  The issue of the card being expired never came up in the interview and she was approved.

Since we had no out of country travel plans over the summer and didn't expect the process to take this long when she applied, we never sought to get any sort of passport stamp, so I can't speak about that.

Mrs Spotty and I just returned from Memphis and we wanted to let you all know that she was approved!  For the most part, the interview went smoothly, she answered the first six questions asked her.  She passed the oral and written exam (good thing since she teaches 7th grade English ). 

The only bump she ran into was that the officer asked her for a set of passport photos.  Of course, it was the one thing we forgot to do before we left. (Even though, she had absolutely no reason to provide them, at least according to USCIS' own instructions.)  However, the officer allowed her to go to a Walgreens around the corner, get the photos made and return and submit the photos.  He approved the application upon her return. (Which we were thankful for, since I know some on the forum had that delay their approval.) All told, the whole process took less than hour.  If only the 6+hour car ride each way with two kids under 6 was that smooth.

Onto waiting for oath ceremony to be scheduled.

Thanks @Jamaican_Gooner.  Yes, the wife has her interview Wednesday morning in Memphis.  We are heading out tomorrow afternoon so Wednesday won't be too long of a day.

The July 31, 2017 processing dates have been posted on the USCIS website.

A lot of positive movement this go around for a lot of offices:

• There was only 1 office to retreat in reported processing time... Providence, RI (the report below has it listed as 2017, but it is 2016 and fixed on master list).
• 50 offices reported times of less than or equal to 1 month improvements,
• 38 offices reported times of greater than 1 month... Pittsburgh jumped ahead 126 days, not counting the step backwards last month.

OP, as I suggested too, you'd be better off showing up.  If it is closed, then on Monday call and request an L2 officer about the date on the interview letter and what happened when you got to the office.

There's been at least 2-3 people on VJ who have had Friday n-400 appointments in Memphis in the last couple of months.  I'd say the above is correct and there are no infopass appointments on Friday, but open for scheduled appointments.

I can't speak for other applications, but I've been using this data to track naturalization data and far as that is concerned, the USCIS hardly processed any applications in the first quarter of this fiscal year (Oct to Dec 2016).  The previous quarter (July to September) they processed over 250,000 applications; the next quarter it was 130,000.

We got a nice surprise to kickoff the weekend.  Mrs. Spotty's interview notice showed up in the mail today. (I guess all it look was for me to stop checking the update page 5-6 times a day, the interview notice was posted on the 15th.)

Interview is scheduled for Sept. 20 at 11:15am.

Still no movement from Memphis on our application.  Don't know if the file has been lost or misplaced or is being used for a doorstop. Given our past history with Memphis, I've got a sinking feeling we might have to wait for the priority date to come due (but hopefully not).
