  1. That’s my terribly special talent, or curse. 😅 Well I don’t have the amended certificate yet. I was talking to them today and it can be done within a month it seems. At that point, the certificate will have the original page, then a second page with amendment on it. That is the full legal document at that point. So if I do it, I can only use that from then on. Which is why I’m debating doing it as I’m not sure if any of the US agencies will even notice or care. I do, however, have a letter from the county of Utah stating that the marriage was done and is legal. At this point I’m not sure whether to leave it alone or actually do it.
  2. Are you saying to add the amended marriage certificate to the I-130 at USCIS? I don’t have the certificate yet if so. I have the documents to submit to the courthouse, just unsure if I should I don’t think I would have it in time for the NVC though. That’s why I’m unsure.
  3. On our Utah marriage certificate, it lists my wife’s location at the time of marriage incorrectly. Long story short, I have the amendment form signed and filled out with both of our signatures and can get it corrected. However our case is currently processing with the USCIS, likely to be finished before the amendment is done. That means during the interview, they will have the un amended marriage certificate. Same with NVC. Would this affect anything if we bring in the amended marriage certificate during the interview? Should I get it amended? Thanks
  4. Ok great. Yea I’ve just been worried because the of the rapidness of marriage after meeting online and never meeting in person before marriage and if there is a larger burden on us to prove the genuineness of our relationship. lease agreement has Thai AND English on it, like next to the Thai it already has English. Passport stamps I have and actually have the leaving stamp on both of our passports the same day and the arriving stamp a day apart (since she arrived after midnight) im thinking of going to visit her in her home country, meet her family and such, and live there for a few months. Maybe even wait outside when she has her interview and if she gets approved fly back to the states with her. Hopefully it’ll possible because we are hating being apart after a year together.
  5. So little back story. wife and I met online a few months after the pandemic started while in our own countries. After about 2-3 months we got married online through Utah. We never met in person before getting married online, and we only ever knew each other online before marriage. I am personally concerned they may question how we could be a real couple, although frankly it was the best decision I’ve ever made. we met in person for the first time about half a year after being married. We were together for about 3 months in that third country. I left to the US and then came back to that third country and filed for the I-130 shortly after getting back to living with her. lived there for another year with her. Because of personal circumstances, I had to go home again, and she went back to her home country. my question is, considering the unique circumstance of never meeting in person before getting married online, is there any other evidence I may have that I should be focusing on since I want to upload evidence at the NVC stage? I have a lease agreement in both of our names for one of the apartments we stayed in. Pictures of course. Sending lots of money to the bank account she had while in the third country for us to live on. And more pictures. We didn’t chat much at all online while there, except things like “get this from the store for me” and the like. I feel like there maybe another evidence that I have that I’m overlooking and could be useful. If anyone has any experience or even thoughts it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
  6. was your senator willing to send in an inquiry? I was thinking of contacting my state representative. Quick rant, it’s amazing to me how they have the ability to hire thousands upon thousands of IRS agents to make sure we are taxed properly, but not near that amount of attention on something affects so many of us personally!
  7. So like the title says, this is what it’s saying on the USCIS website under “my account”, “processing time”. I understand this is still a WOP, however people usually report there is a number of months, even if off? Has anyone else seen this? im also thinking of contacting my state representative. 1 year in almost, will it affect anything?
  8. Hello. As far as co mingling of finance, the only evidence I have is sending money here to third country for us to live on. I sent it from my bank to hers. As far as utility bills, they sadly don’t list the persons name on them, only the address and how much it was. I did save these, though. The main evidence I have is money being sent from my bank to hers, passport stamps and plane tickets showing we were both in Thailand, about 40-60 pictures together, as well as the lease agreement. I hope this is sufficient.
  9. Hello, so I’m actually writing this from the airport in the third country we’ve lived in for a year. My wife just left on the plane and I’m due to leave back to america in another few hours. Anyways, just a few questions I had that I’ve been meaning to ask when I got the time. the evidence I have for us living together in Thailand is 3 things: 1. pictures. 2. lease agreement with owner for an apartment we stayed in part of the time I was here 3. Passport stamps for the lease agreement, I attached it below with personal info blocked out. Curious if you guys think this is good for the interview, since it doesn’t exactly look professional due to the landlord not speaking/typing native English. I guess it’s optional considering all the pictures and the passport stamps we have. I guess it couldn’t hurt?
  10. I still haven’t got my first AR, and it’s been just about 11 months! While I’m happy yours and others got approved quickly, I feel it’s really unfair in some ways how they don’t truly process in the order received. This, more than any other government process in America has made me realize how truly messed up our system is. I’ve travelled quite a bit in the world, and nowhere I’ve been compared to the long waits, absolutely nonsensical procedures, and straight up spaghetti noodle the US immigration system is.
  11. Do you honestly think it’s worth it? I’m already 11 months in and still need about a month more to prepare documents for NVC. What about those who don’t file for a K3? Are the timeline still accurate on the USCIS website you think?
  12. Hello @Simplytex. Anymore updates or new info/insight you’ve seen? Curious because it’s saying 16 months for Vermont now, and from some cases I’ve seen recently, this seems to stand true for a lot of cases but maybe my evidence is just anecdotal. About to be 11 months here and it’s honestly getting exhausting.
  13. March 2022? Lots of us in Vermont are from October-December still waiting for NOA2.
  14. 20 about to turn 21 here. Got married at 18, and still waiting to finally be together in a place we can call home. It’s sickening when I get to learn how incredibly easy it is in so many other countries for spouses to get visas. Sometimes I wonder if it truly is a good thing to be an USC…especially after living abroad.
  15. Possible, but I have to first register our US marriage with the Chinese embassy which is more difficult then it sounds. They want additional authentication from the lieutenant governor of Utah and the department of state. Takes quite a few months. Not to mention, from my understanding you can’t work on a Q1/Q2 visa correct? And the max stay time is 6 months? If that’s the case, it’s very hard for me to go over there long term and have no income. about the communication, yea we have wechat, but we lost both of our numbers for wechat (even though it still works). I also have her email and she knows both of mine by heart. Also have her mother, brother, and family’s wechats. What do you use? Considering most communication apps are banned in China.
  16. Yes, I do have quite a few concerns. There are probably not deal breakers, but the anxiety definitely kills me in this scenario of having to seperate and not having a definite time frame or date when I know I will see her again. and yea, I can definitely sympathize. Leaving your partner at the airport is totally unnatural imo, and I wish this whole process was better suited to relationships. I’ve already done this once before when I had to leave her, she was able to stay in the third country waiting for me to come back. This time around she is going back to China…and they things are going over there are very frightening for freedom of movement and travel.
  17. Our visas are expiring in the third country we are staying and we can’t find jobs in other countries because of lack of college degrees visits aren’t possible to China simply because China has a strict zero-covid policy. Theres also the factor that since May of this year it’s gotten more difficult to leave mainland china. Only reasons an immigration officer considers “necessary” are accepted. Which makes traveling to a third country a lot more difficult if not risky for my wife.
  18. Getting married online before meeting each other in person, short time (2.5 months) dating, conflictions with address and work history from I-130 and what was on previous tourist applications.
  19. Hello all, just had a little rant and wanted to know how some others have dealt with issues similar to mine. I’m currently with my wife in a third country waiting (10 months into the I-130). Her and I are both leaving back to our home countries out of necessity in 2 weeks after living together for almost a year. In this time, I have gotten even more incredibly close to her, and I’m already mourning the fact that I will have to split with her at the airport. And if I knew for sure that I would see her again, perhaps I could deal with it. But the uncertainty and odd things/red flags of our case makes me feel like there’s a chance I won’t see her again. Also the state of the world, if something happens and we are separated…it’s safe to say it’s really getting to me. Im trying to enjoy these final weeks with her, but it’s overshadowed with the reminder that it won’t be much longer and I won’t have her next to me. How has everyone else dealt with this? Any advice?
  20. Hello, I have a police certificate from Thailand and need to get it translated for the NVC stage. They want a certified translation. Will one of those companies online that offer translation services with a document do? If so, does anyone have any recommendations for a specific website or company that worked for them? Thanks.
  21. interesting. Thank you for your response. I went through the FAM, 504 and I couldn’t find anything related to intent at all. I wonder if it’s even down in writing anywhere. In either direction. True. We don’t plan to ever give up her green card. I wonder if they would ask her about it tho to compare her answer against mine. To be honest, our intent has changed somewhat, but of course they don’t know that. The uncertainty of world relations is quite…strong.
  22. Because it was the truth at the time. I shouldn’t have volunteered the information though. Perhaps. But I’m trying to find any actual law or statement in the FAM or USCIS manuals regarding it. Or if anyone has any experiences.
