  1. Congrats babybebita!!! I hope you are enjoying your new life in the US :D So glad to see an August CIS graduate with their loved one already. Hopefully the rest of us will follow in the next few months

My fingers are crossed for your case complete Rajaa!

Im still wishing and hoping for a December interview. Hmmm ya think if I call on 3rd Nov it will make my case go to the top of the pile for scheduling? ;) lol jk

Hope everyone gets more progress soon.

  2. Im not there yet but from experience of staying there I know Im going to miss... Galaxy, proper Cadburys, proper bread, the Comedy Store Players, QI & other good TV, Twinnings Earl Grey (US version is bitter), malted milk biscuits, Colmans mustard (altho I saw them using it on ####### Eye... a couple of years back so someone must stock it).

If any of you expats are in or visiting the NYC area Id reccommend Tea & Sympathy. They have a cafe serving classic Brit stuff like sticky toffee pudding and scambled eggs on proper toast :D Also they have a store selling stuff like HP sauce and Birds Eye custard :)

  3. So there wouldn't be any problems at all with my coming to the US and marrying my guy on the VWP? Can I stay with him when he starts filing for the visa or would I have to leave straight away? And is it possible to visit him out there while things are being processed?

    Hi

I got married in Manhattan on VWP then flew home and started the CR-1 process. As long as you fly home within 90days of arrival there shouldnt be any problems. Its usually reccommended to fly home and start the CR-1 process once you are outside of the US.

I didnt visit the US whilst my application was being processed by CIS (my husband came here instead) but I know of some VJ members who have done so successfully.

If you do plan to visit during the visa process it would be best to show proof you intend to go back again. A return ticket is a must and, as payxibka says, other documents to show your ties in your home country.

Good luck on your journey :)

  4. Thanks again guys for all your help :D

I called back and was told our RFE is the same as Martina and Jim. The lovely man even said it's happens A LOT as people fill in the form on the computer lol.

Luckily I sent my husband two signed undated copies of the DS-230 just in case we got an RFE. He will put in PRESENT by hand and date it for today. He'll send out with barcode (thanks for checklist response tip CHD :D ) and covering letter. Phew problem sorted :D

Thanks for updating the spreadsheet CHD
