Thanks. I didn't realise your husband's was the same day - I would have send a message too :)

It's is a great feeling. Im so glad you are approved too. It's been a long journey but we can soon be with our loved ones at last. Do you have a POE decided? Maybe he can make it time for the holiday period.

Ahh I never thought of dear Desi Arnez - doh!. My husband's name is Des and he's a desi (of south asian descent) my name is Lou, it seemed to fit heh.

    Take care,

    Lou

  2. Congrats again Isma. Glad you have visa in hand now!

My experience and questions were quite similar to yours. The actual interview only took about 10 mins and most of that was taken up trying to get the damn fingerprint scanner to work lol. So relieved to be all done. yay! :D

  3. ooooh does my husband need this??? how did you know you needed that form?

    Hi Rajaa

In the UK the doctors website states we needed a copy of a medical questionnaire, but I think there are different requirements depending on what country your interview is being held in.

Go to www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov and choose your embassy/consulate from the drop-down list. It will direct you to information about what you need for your medical etc.

    Good luck :)

  4. Had the medical yesterday - went the same way as everyone else's on here.

After I paid the receptionist handed me a receipt stapled to a sheet detailing the vaccination record. Does everyone get this or is it just the CR1/IR1 applicants?

All the boxes are ticked either completed series, or not age appropriate. Apart from the Varicella (chicken pox) which says VH which means I've had chickenpox but we don't do the vaccine in the UK.

At the end it has a final set of tick boxes which say vaccine history incomplete and then the box is ticked applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver because vaccinations not medically appropriate as indicated above.

Is that what everyone normally gets on this form?

I got a copy of the vaccine record too. I was told the embassy will be sent the original with the chest x-ray etc but was to keep hold of my copy for US immigration (I guess that means at POE?)

My record is marked identical to yours. I was told I had all the nessecary vaccines so I assume what we got is normal :)

  5. Had my medical this morning. All seemed to go smoothly (of course I don't the results yet so perhaps not lol)

Took about an hour in all, most of that waiting around to be seen. Receptionist was pleasant & handed me a quick medical questionnaire/AIDS test consent form. Saw a friendly nurse about vaccines first , straight into a chest x-ray, then into see a young female doctor after a wait. She didnt seem unfriendly but didnt say much. Did a eye test, height, weight, quick body exam, didnt ask many questions at all. Was told results should be at the embassy by Wed which is plenty of time for my interview (not until the following week). Paid the money and left. Really not any bother at all :)

  6. HELP!!
