You should get NOA's for each application you sent in (AoS, EAD, AP) PLUS the biometrics appointment letter. Some people have been getting all 4 on the same day
and others get the biometrics letter on a different day from the other 3. Each one will have a different MSC number (case#). You can enter each one on the USCIS
site to track each one's individual progress.
-
If you get an RFE you'd see it by clicking on the case number which is a blue (or purple if you've looked at it already) hyperlink. Then where it says "current status:" t would say that they sent you a request for evidence.
Same place where you'd see if your case were transferred to CSC, or when your case is approved, etc...

thanks guys!! We actually were thinking about going out today, but now we won't. You saved us lots of time and gas : )
I wish i had found that section on uscis closings yesterday morning, oh well. It was an interesting drive.
-
Is there a way to call them? I looked all over for a phone# this morning because the roads really were horrendous, couldn't find one.
-
Just an fyi...my husband was denied several times while we were going through the waiting period for k-1. At the interview, they had his picture and all the notes
related to the refusals (same reason...lack of strong ties to Canada). The interviewer had a good chuckle at how scared my hubby looked in the pics and he deleted them. At the POE, the officer there had a hard time trying to get rid of even more info on the refusals. There were some other text messages he had to delete, he was new & didn't know how to.
My point is, if you have a form, you might want to hang onto it for the interview just in case. Probably not a big deal, but if you had to prove it was just a matter of
lack of strong ties, you'd have something.
-
We went for my husband's biometrics appointment today and the office was closed!! We had a huge blizzard over night and into the day today (over 9 inches where the USCIS
field office is located). What should we do now? Has anyone experienced this? Since they take people early, are they likely to take us on Monday since they know they
were closed today?

The irs.gov site has a questionnaire that lets you know if you need to even file taxes. It can be found here.
I'm a little confused as to your situation, but maybe browsing the irs site will help you out. There's a ton of info on it.
If you don't have to file taxes, don't. Let your mom co-sponsor (which you probably need to anyway) and use all her info. There are many people who are full-time students
during this process & have a cosponsor. They don't have tax info on themselves either I'm sure.
I don't get how you can owe so much money if you hardly made any. Are you sure??
-
I don't think it means you're in trouble. They are sending i-485's to CSC to "speed up processing". (CSC transfer is good as it usually means you will get green card without an interview, not guaranteed, but likely)
I don't think it's good news either that you didn't receive a biometrics appointment yet. Biometrics is required for everyone, so I'd probably try to call if I were you. Look at the EAD notice and there should be a phone# on there for asking questions. That's where I'd start.

Ok, how do you get this to line up so nicely??? Added ours, but my rows don't want to cooperate.

I think his current job counts most. When I filled a k1 for my hubby I was in grad school and I didn't need a co-sponsor. I was able to document the money I lived on using financial aid award letters and tax transcripts (when applicable). Read my old post. It might give you some ideas: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...;p=1011373&
Also, he should approach his employer again about a letter or employment. Its not the type of things that employees request regularly and sometimes employers get concerned with legal implication of writing a letter supporting a immigration petition. He may have better luck if he discusses it again provides a (1) drafts a letter himself- don't give someone else work to do. If they like the draft they can just sign it, or the can edit. (2) Maybe address the letter to the employee (not the CO).
Only problem is her fiance did NOT file taxes in 2007. I'd still work on the mom.
-
Definitely have a letter from your employer stating they expect you to return to your job on such & such date. A copy of mortgage papers, utility bills and anything you can think of that prove you plan to return will be helpful. You'll need to prove your ties to your home country if they ask.
And yea, just answer their questions and be honest. You should have no problem then.
Good luck and enjoy your visit!
-
You're right, you do need all of those documents. It's not overkill if you wish to avoid being denied at the interview. If only his mom would get that letter from her employer you'd be all set & safe. I'm not sure how they scrutinize the length of employment, but I do know that they will want to see 2007's taxes and possibly even the past 3 years (form asks for 1 year, but many people have been asked for 3 years). What I did for my employer letter was send an email to the head of our Human Resorces office with a copy of what I wanted the letter to say (word for word) and made it super easy for her. I had her print out 3 copies so they'd all have her original signature on (one to send to embassy, one to take to interview, one for my records). Would his mom be more willing if you sent her a copy of what it needs to say? Maybe she's not sure what to ask for so she doesn't want to do it?
I don't know that I'd submit your fiance's info since his employment is only 2 months so far, and he won't be able to send any tax transcripts along. Seems very risky to me.
-
No, send copies. Originals are for taking to the interview & used only if they ask to see them. You won't have the transcripts in your packet. You'll have to request them yourself from IRS using the link or phone# I provided. (is that what you meant?)
-
A tax transcript is an official document from the IRS which summarizes your tax return line by line. I called to get mine, but included a link for you below, to the request form in case you prefer that route. The USCIS info I've read states they actually prefer the transcripts.
You can obtain a transcript by calling (800)–829–1040 or by completing and mailing Form 4506-T (PDF), Request for Transcript of Tax Return, to the address listed in the instructions to request all types of transcript verification of non-filing, and wage/income information.
-
The tax transcripts say that I've paid $17,000 in interest on my house loan this year, and it's out of state. There are millions of americans in the same boat I'm in right now. What do you recommend I do about that?
Should I only submit my W2's, bank letter, and letter of employment? I make 40,000 a year. How should my fiance handle this during her interview?
You're fine with your income (as long as you don't have more than 7 people in your household that you're supporting, lol).
Check out the Poverty Guidelines from USCIS
Definitely submit those tax transcripts too!! It doesn't take long to request them online or via phone and they send them to
you pretty quick.
I doubt they'll ask your fiance much about the affidavit. I'd just make sure she knows where you work,
understands what you do, and how much you make.
I don't know really how much the bank letter matters, but if you feel better having all your i's dotted & t's crossed just send it.
-
I'm confused, are you posting about your i-129f? This is the AoS section. Or did they ask this of your AoS applications?
-
Yes you also need to file the i864 and g325 again.
-
Why would you submit your bank statements?? You don't need to do that. Some people get a note/letter from their bank stating the date they opened their account and what their current balance is. There are no details on these "statements", it's not the statements you receive monthly from the bank. Don't offer that info, it's not necessary. I didn't and it wasn't asked for.
Is your income above poverty level? If so, submit only your past 3 years tax transcripts (or ful tax copies if you wish) w-2's, letter from employer stating how long you've worked there & current salary and you are good to go.

I just talked to a USCIS representative late this afternoon regarding my case that's not available online. I was told by her that she will inform whoever does the updates in USCIS to put my case online so that I can see them, but still there's no progress. I asked her if there's a RFE on its way down here and she told me that everything seems alright (hope so, ). Since, I can't see my case online, I'm going to bother them by calling everyday to make sure that I'm really abreast about my case. May be this is the only way that I can tract my application. What do you think, huh?
Personally I think it's a waste of time to call them every day. You didn't file very long ago at all and you received your noa's in the mail according to your signature. What
are you worrying about online updates for? If you look back, many people get their cards BEFORE anything shows up online. It's nothing to worry about. I'd chill out.
-
Ditto to what everyone said. I went through bankruptcy and home foreclosure during the k1 process. All they want to know is your income and see your past taxes. If you're above poverty lvl you're fine. If not you'll need a sponsor, foreclosure still won't be an issue.
-
There are several places to get your US tax info from. You can check out irs.gov. The # to call to request tax transcripts (summary of past tax forms, which uscis does accept for affidavit of support) is -800-829-1040 and the link to the request form: tax transcript request form.
If she has had her taxes done by a professional tax service in the past, they keep copies & can supply her with these.
If she did them herself, she should have kept copies for her records.
Past w-2's can also be found here https://seemyw2.ceridian.com/seemyw2/cgi-bi...orts?cid=801229.
Did you not include the tax info with the affidavit of support in the first place, or did they lose it? If you provided it and they're requesting more info, I'd send them the past 3 years info.
In my AoS packet I sent tax transcripts for the past 3 years, copies of my w-2's for each year and a letter verifying my employment & salary.

I'm sure you're right. Our biometrics appt. is this friday so I'll try to not think about it until next week. Thanks for your response, it's just good to hear it from someone else sometimes:)
-
As you can see from my signature, we recently filed for AoS and the i485 & AP show up online on uscis, but the EAD application still
isn't showing up. Anybody else have it take longer for one or another of these 3 applications (sent at the same time) to show up on
uscis' site? It worries me because it's kinda the most important one because my hubby would love to start looking for a job!
-
My guess would be "additional".
or
Is it in all caps like in your post? If so, then I'd guess it's one of their abbreviations & you won't find out what exactly it means until you get the welcome notice.
Biometrics appointment concern
in Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from K1 and K3 Family Based Visas

You could go today or tomorrow and see if they'll take him early ( at the new building ). Many others have
reported going to their appt. days before it is actually scheduled for. That way, if it's not the correct location
he won't have missed his real appointment and if it's correct there's a good chance you'll get it out of the way.
My husband missed his on the date it was scheduled due to the fact USCIS closed for the blizzard we had. We
went a few days later & it was fine too.
