Yikes, I don't think I'd be too concerned yet (12/4-now is only 2 weeks and 1 day). I thought CSC was filling crates & waiting to send them or something. Has that changed now? I hope so, that sure was crummy of them.
(Ok, I lie I'd be pacing and calling them too. But congressman may be a bit premature at this point.
Save their time for those who really need it.)

Have been on the phone with NVC, DOS, and USCIS in the past 24 hours....and I just wanted to take a moment to say....
Thank you
Strange...
Mine was approved on the 13th and they, NVC, got my packet from VSC yesterday.
The DOS lady was very helpfull to me.
Lol do you think the poster wanted to hear that? I am sure you meant well, but it's kinda like salt in the wound ya know?
Sorry I had to say that i'm kinda edgy today. Getting irked with my own frustration and impatience.

Awesome news jeraly, and even better you can celebrate together! Gratz!!
-
chris4gretchen: yea I thought that was what you were getting at, but hopefully we're all just getting antsy. I'm sure there's lots more out there like us mid July'ers that havne't heard anything yet who aren't on VJ. At least I hope that's the case and it's just normal. I still haven't gotten an RFE nor another touch so I'm back to worrying my ####### off and checking the uscis online updates all day long. I think i'm developing OCD lol!!
Jeraly: How did Jeremy react to your news of the touch? Or was he too tired from his flight for it to register?
-
Am I missing something? What's wrong with the picture?
-
Yay Jeraly!! I'm so excited for you. I know exactly how you feel except your touch is more legitimate since you didn't call like I did. AWESOME news! How exciting that you get to tell your fiance when you pick him up..
Who knows, maybe you'll get that almighty approval notice (email anyway) while he's still there. That would be sweet.

I think what they were trying to point out is that the 4 copies LOOK very similar (questions are all the same) but each copy is for a different department, which you can see on each one I think at the bottom. Copy is a bad word, because they are indeed each different.
So you shouldn't just fill out one of them and make copies because then you wouldn't have one for each dept. If you look real close at them you'll see what I mean.

I love this thread!! I can't figure out how to get a pic off my computer into this reply though. Any help?
So anyway, I wondered where all the icicles/tinsel have gone over the years and found this on wikipedia...
Strands of tinsel may be hung in groups from longer branches to simulate icicles, though this trend has gradually fallen off since the late 1970s, due primarily to a cessation of the manufacture of metal tinsel because of environmental concerns. This was replaced with silvered saran based tinsel, which many have found to be unsatisfactory, leading to the demise of tinsel in tree decorating in the United States (it remains popular in many European countries).
I haven't seen it in stores in Wisconsin for a very long time. My dog used to eat it when I was a kid and then decorate the yard with it
. I guess that's why I thought it was a safety issue.

I think everyone on this site would want to sign this petition, not just certain visa types. We are all being kept from our loved ones and it's excruciating for everyone. Could this go somewhere that we will all see it?

OK I did the RFE trick this morning. The lady didn't even ask me about why I punched in the RFE options, it was like she knew I was using the trick just to speak to someone. I guess the RFE trick isn't quite as clever as it once was?
Anyways, she told me its with an officer still, there is no RFE or any problem that she knew of, so it must be in that stack with jeraly. She said just wait a "little bit longer." The officer probably took two weeks off or something...
Ooo well that's better news that I got. Maybe you will be getting a very nice surprise before the end of the year then
Yeah wouldn't that be nice to actually get a NOA2 within 6 months of filing. I can't say that I'll be too excited though. Back when we filed she was supposed to BE here by now based on estimates on this site and instead NOTHING has happened all this time. The only reason I'm not losing it is because my girl is telling me to be patient.
Why don't you try calling back and clarifying if you are really in extended review?
I just checked and we have been TOUCHED for the very first time!!! (just like Madaonna
).
No notification of an RFE so I think I can take it to mean they are actually working on my case now?
Anybody who's gotten an RFE, does it show up right when you see that your case was touched or is there some lag time? Don't want to get too hopeful but this is so exciting after so much NOTHING.
I wonder if my phone call to them yesterday has anything to do with it. Maybe extended review means that she found it UNDER the shelves and has dusted it off and handed it to an adjucator lolol. Kidding!

I'm just sick about this and hope I'm overreacting. Now.. extended review, is that the same as administrative review? Or are they different? Because I don't like what I've read about administrative review and can't think of a flippin reason ours would be in that situation.
DKM try NOW! Maybe you'll get the nice lady. She seemed to actually look and gave me the alien # which I didn't have previously. Not sure what that does for me, but she repeated it several times (it has letters & numbers that sound alike). It would be interesting to see if she gives you a different response. At least she actually looked for the shelf it's on.

Ok, I am really freaking out right now! I called USCIS using the famed "RFE trick" mentioned on this site and the recording told me they are waiting for Additional Evidence they requested of me. I have not received any request for evidence! Then I got a very nice lady on the phone (No I'm serious, she really was super nice) who looked my case up and gave me my fiance's alien# then put me on hold to see what shelf our case is on. She came back and said it's in extended review and that can take up to 6 months!! What??? WHy??? How??? When???
She said she has no idea why it is there but she thinks it's been there a long time and thinks it's moving along pretty fast and I should check back next month. I can't believe this. Does anybody know what this typically means? I know nobody can look into a crystal ball, but has anybody ever experienced this? Or heard what the reason for it is?
We thought our case was so simple. The only thing I can think of is that I was divorced but I supplied the divorce decree. Other than that I can't imagine what it would be.
On an up note, she did say they are working on July right now and are going really fast and about done with July if that makes anybody feel better.

CBR I know how you feel only prolly not so bad as I filed after you - I know how frustrating it feels - you want to be so happy for everyone and it brings it home to you how much you want it as well - to be honest it doesn't matter when I get mine because we are not going to get the visa before our Feb wedding and I won't move over until the end of June so if I can give up my place for someone else then I would by all means do so
Don't think it works quite like that though...
That's awfully generous of you Jeraly! Have you called USCIS about your petition or are you just being patient?
I'm tempted to call but am afraid of the canned response I know I'm gonna get.
-
Yay and Gratz to everyone who recently received NOA2's!! I'm getting so emotional reading this. Sooo happy for everyone getting there and soooo distressed mine is not. I have happy tears in my eyes for all of you and can't imagine how emotional I'm gonna get when mine finally comes.
-
DKM, I feel the same. Our NOA1 is dated 7/13/07 and it sure does feel like it's LOST. This is the most frustrating thing I have ever experienced. I just want to know what's going on and it's obvious that NOTHING is when it comes to our case. What the heck?
-
Don't worry yet. I got my first NOA 7/13 and haven't heard anything yet either. I'd relax for a while and try not to think about it too much. I have been hearing on the boards here that mine should be very soon as they are working on the vicinity of my date now so if yours is september it's going to be a little while yet.
Some people seem to have their case "touched" while others don't so if you signed up for online updates and don't see anything don't worry too much. It's not worth the stress. I've seen many posters here say theirs never got touched according to the uscis online updates, but their cases were all approved.
Hang in there..we're all in this together

Anybody else out there file mid July and NOT get their NOA2 yet? I'm feeling so skipped over!!
if you count 'mid-July' as around the 10th to the 20th (let's count both those dates as there are 31 days in July), latest counts show:
113 NOA1s in that period, from all service centres
and
76 NOA2s for those filers, as of today
so what's that... around two-thirds done? I think they're working on that period right now, and it will be mostly cleared this week, or next
hope that's helpful, and not just annoying...
That is VERY helpful. I'm so bad at looking over the stats on this website. I get stressed and confused so thank you for clearing that up for me. Yes that time frame covered me..7/13/07.
Thank you
-
I'm in the same boat as you and my NOA1 is 7/13/07 which is before yours. I have no touches and no NOA2 yet either. Trying so hard to be patient!!
I called USCIS and it was a waste of time. I got the standard line saying to look online at the current processing dates and that all cases are different blah blah blah. I explained that I signed up for email updates & checked my progress online and there are no "touches" so how are cases received by you (CSC) AFTER mine getting approved and mine hasn't even been looked at yet? She had no answer for me. I have a very common last name so I'm hoping that's all it is.
Hang in there and know that you are not alone in feeling left behind.
-
Yea I feel the same way. I signed up for email alerts in September, but received the NOA1 in July so I bet if our case was touched before I signed up it wouldn't show eh? Then I have read some posts here saying that they got notices without having ever had their case touched so I feel like what's the point? I mean at this point I sure as heck hope that our case is doing SOMETHING without the site showing it.
Anybody else out there file mid July and NOT get their NOA2 yet? I'm feeling so skipped over!!
-
Thank you for the answers. I feel a bit better especially to hear that someone else has experienced the same thing. I'll be patient and if nothing happens by mid January then I'll start worrying. ugh

First post here, just found this site a few days ago and am really enjoying it
Here's our situation:
sent 1-129f 6/18/07
rcve RFE 7/2/07 (we had been told the wrong $$ to send by a border control officer grr!)
rcvd NOA1 7/13/07
Question 1:
and that's IT. Our case has never been touched a single time since then. I am seeing so many people that have NOA1 dates weeks after ours and am wondering if a touch means it was wanded off the shelf to be worked on and they're supposed to work on these in the order they are received then wth? How do they skip over cases like that? OR do they work on them by beneficiarie's country? He's from canada & I see that there are large numbers of applications from Canada & could understand it taking longer than other countries I suppose.
I called USCIS yesterday & inquired to make sure something didn't happen to our file and how are other cases that were received after ours already getting approved. I was given some standard text about how all cases are different blah blah blah. I'm thinking, yea but receipt dates are chronological...
Does anybody think I should be concerned? Should I just be patient & this is normal?
Question 2:
Does toronto process k-1 visas? Meaning will his interview be there if it's the closest consulate to where he lives? Or are they only done in Montreal & Vancouver?
Question 3:
Does the 2nd NOA get sent to me (the petitioner) or to my fiance (the beneficiary)?
Question 4:
Do they allow the fiance to accompany the beneficiary at the interview? Will they interview me too, or just him?
