I guess if you already have biometrics from the recent past when you have crossed to US and it matches, they might not do it again. By the way, we received our physical/plastic Greencards!

@NewbieMy husband activated his US Immigrant visa via land at Lynden Port of Entry. Officers did not take his photograph nor biometrics which my  husband realized later so we were also worried if his card will be delayed. But happy to let you know that we got notified that his US Green card is mailed and on the way. So you should be good as well.

@newbie75 @ACC24 when my wife and I did our landing at YVR airport, the first officer took pictures but the second officer who did the actual processing didn't do any biometrics, no finger-printing, nothing. At least, he opened our sealed envelopes, processed them and kept the contents. Finally, I asked him about fingerprints but he simply said, "nope not needed, you will get your greencards". 🙄

After you pay the greencard fee, it will arrive.  If your paperwork didn't include the SSN or if it takes longer than about 2 weeks, head into your local SSA with your immigration paperwork and have them check if a number was issued and/or issue you a SSN.

Make sure you enter before the expiration date of the medical or the visa.  Typically, it's 6mo after your medical.

Be careful with slingshotting.  You're subject (depending on province) to finding yourself without provincial health coverage.

We did not carry any other documents other than mentioned. This was not our final move which will happen eventually   We returned back to Canada after 4 days in US. Hope all works out good for  you all as well!

We went for our interview at Montreal and were issued the visa. The documents requested were those in the IL's required list. Many thanks to everyone in this community for sharing their experience, as it helped folks like me prep and stay hopeful.

We had our interview today and got approved. The whole process was smooth. It took around 1.5 hours including the wait time outside the consulate. The first officer asked us for the original documents and took the fingerprints. The second officer asked few questions related to research area, job profile, educational background and date of marriage. No additional documents were needed other than the ones mentioned on the Montreal consulate website. The status showed ‘issued’ in 5 minutes (I took my phone with me and kept it in their locker).

We did not receive any IV fee payment instructions. When are we going to receive the instructions? Maybe together with our passports and sealed envelopes? Members- please help

We completed our interview last Thursday, ceac status showing 3 visas issued and our 2 year old visa pending waiting on Medicals to be received from Telus Sante. We will have to probably wait 10 more days. I opted for local pickup option instead of home delivery, no notifications, tracking numbers received yet.

Thanks @newbie75 They did not ask about our travel history at all.  We did hear them asking the fellow next to us about his travel history though.  I did carry a travel history document (I had a 5 year and a 15 year ready).  Here is a list of what I brought with me:
    I-140 Petition
    Response to RFE
Previous Immigration File (Did a FOIA request as I was previously a green card holder as a minor)
Photocopies of all original docs (was only asked for copy of new passport)
Cancelled Passport that I had used on DS260
All original documents submitted to NVC (We provided updated police checks as the documentation provided says it expires after 1 year and I wasn't going to take a chance with ours that were two years old in May).
Last three years of tax returns for both my husband and I
Letter from company I do contract work for saying they plan to continue to utilize my services once I move to US
    Current Work Orders
    Mortgage Pre-Approval
    Resume for both of us
2 passport style photos for each of us
    Interview Letter
    Appointment Registration Confirmation
    NVC Invoice
    IV Payment Fee Confirmation
    DS260 for both of us
    Proof of payment for
    5 year travel history
    15 year travel history

I had everything broken down into different file folders with tabs for easy reference.  I know this is probably way too much stuff to bring, but I wanted to be overprepared and have anything they could possibly ask for.  Hope this helps.

We had our interview in Montreal today for EB-1.  It was approved and CEAC is showing "Issued."  They asked very few questions, most of the time was spent providing original documents and finger prints.  Our questions were what I intended to do for work/was I going to just find a job once I approved, if either of us had previously been married, had either of us ever lived outside of Canada and where we planned on living once we arrived in the US.  There were no issues updating our address or passport.  We were in and out in under an hour.

Unfortunately, they did not capture my fingerprints well during the interview. I got an email to come back on April 21 for my fingerprints to be properly taken. Other members not affected. So down here is what you need. RCMP-Others

Congratulations ACC24! Do you mind sharing what documents you carried for the interview - especially the originals?

Hi, lawyers have advised that it’s not an issue on either process. For CP, I’ll just need to travel to Montreal and attend the medicals and interview whenever it gets scheduled one of these years  And for AOS, same thing, there isn’t really a requirement that you cannot leave the country at all. As long as the primary (and in this case me as secondary) applicant have a valid visa (H/L etc.) we are able to travel. The only requirement is that while the AOS (I-485) is being submitted, the applicants need to be in the US at that time of filing. If you have an Advance Parole application filed along with the AOS, that AP application alone gets canceled once you travel outside but it has no impact on AOS (I-485) + EAD (I-765). Given that we have valid stamps of H/L, we are hopeful to travel for the interview (assuming the interview at MTL arrives before our AOS Green Card). This is my understanding based on our lawyers, hope it helps!

To your question: Primary AOS is in US and Primary CP is also in US (used to be in Canada earlier at the time of filing for CP)
