  1. Book the appointment now! You’ve been waiting for close to 3 months. I wouldn’t be waiting for instructions. Santo Domingo takes US and DR holidays off. You are chancing not getting an interview before the end of the year. My suggestion would be to have done this back in late September or October. So hopefully there is still an appointment available.
  2. When did you receive your case number? Can you fill out your timeline? Hard to assist without any details.
  3. We won’t be able to see available dates until the NVC issues a case number and the embassy lets us know when the case is ready. It would help to fill out your timeline so that you can closely compare your timeline with other Dominican filers and be notified of updates.
  4. No, unfortunately he cannot access it at all. We even contacted his ex, and she said she doesn’t remember any of the log in details.
  5. Hey all, sorry I am back with another question and it’s because I keep getting conflicting information and I trust this site the most. We are filling out our DS-160 and got to the section requesting for social media accounts used in the past 5 years. My fiancé has an old facebook account that his ex girlfriend created for him and he hasn’t used that account since they broke up in 2017. He doesn’t have access to the account and has tried to get it taken down to no avail. We are worried because there are photos of them on the profile and she put his relationship status as married. They were never legally married, but the culture in the DR is that they call their boyfriend/girlfriend their husband/wife even though they’re not legally married. Our attorney told us it’s not necessary to list this account because it hasn’t been used in the past 5 years. I asked someone on a Facebook group if it needs to be listed even though it hasn’t been used in the past 5 years and they said “yes”. I asked a friend of mine who has been through this process and they are telling me “no” it needs to be an active account that has been used in the past 5 years. I am clearly CONFUSED! Does this account need to be listed and are we going to run into any issues about it stating that he was married even though he was never legally married to his ex? Our petition states that he was never legally married, so I don’t want to run into any problems and have the embassy think we are trying to misrepresent his marital status.
  6. Okay, understood. I was also hoping to get whatever vaccines he doesn’t have done prior to his medical exam since they seem to price gouge on the vaccinations at the exam. But we will take our chances and just get him whatever vaccines he doesn’t have done there. Thank you for your help!
  7. Hi all, We got our NOA2 this past week and now trying to get everything in order so we do not have to rush later. My fiancé doesn’t have a copy of his medical records and my soon to be mother in law has confirmed that he was vaccinated as a child, but she cannot locate his records. She doesn’t remember what hospital he was born at and also doesn’t know where to look! He doesn’t have a specific doctor that he goes to see either so I don’t even know where to begin. Anybody on here who can point me in the right direction?
  8. That happened to me last night too. I guess you can’t schedule until you get your letter from nvc. I tried paying for the visa last night too but couldn’t find anywhere to pay. Does that have to be done at the bank or did I miss something?
  9. I had no idea that you could do this! Wow, let me get started on this tonight. Can you tell me how it went for you?
  10. I didn’t file in 2021, but I did file this year. I took the advice from someone on here to reach out to my congressman. I live in Los Angeles and my congressman ran his most recent campaign on immigration values and improving it within the city of Los Angeles and nationwide. After I filled out the form, someone followed up with me within hours and filed a request the following day. My unsolicited advice would be to check your congressman/woman’s values and see if this is something of importance to them. That could be one of the reasons why you are hitting a wall.
  11. Yeah, I guess I was comparing the costs to all the ladies I know who recently had c-sections. Two of them have the exact same insurance as me and their out of pocket costs came out to $4000. One of my closest girlfriends who had a c-section has Kaiser and her out of pocket cost came out a little over $4000 as well. But I agree this friend is very much so dramatic... I will, thank you
  12. He found one doctor nearby that he believes will be able to give me good care in a private clinic. I am going to go see them tomorrow. If I like them, then I will keep seeing them. I have a girlfriend who just recently had a child in Cap Cana who claims that she was held against her will at a private hospital and that they were trying to extort her for money because she had a c-section. Allegedly, they were trying to charge her $4000 for the entire delivery. Seemed strange to me because that is exactly how much it costs to get a c-section in CA? She claims that they wouldn't give her her passport back until she paid the doctor an additional $1000. I don't know how much I believe the story, but I don't want to deny anyone's experience. This created somewhat of a fear for me.
  13. Thank you, my next step was going to be reaching out to my congressman. This is very helpful. More than likely I will have to wait until I am emotionally and mentally clear enough to reach out.
  14. Thank you! Dominican health care system terrifies me! Especially because my Spanish is not fluent. I understand but can’t communicate back the way I would like to in English. They don’t allow other people in the room with you like they do in the US. I am continuing my therapy sessions via telehealth while I am here but limited with what my OBGYN can provide to me without seeing her in office.
  15. By any chance do you know if K3 visas are still a thing under CR1? Or is that officially a thing of the past?
  16. A few months ago I filed an expedite request for my fiancés visa because I was pregnant with our first child and had an extensive history with depression, anxiety, debilitating panic attacks and suicide ideation. I had gotten to a good place prior to meeting my fiancé, but when I became pregnant, my depression and anxiety had came back. I contacted USCIS to file an expedite request, which was denied! I decided to get a lawyer to assist with the latter half of this process because I just no longer wanted to deal with the process on our own. Well last month, at 20weeks and 4 days, I unfortunately, lost our child which has caused my symptoms to worsen like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I decided to come visit my fiancé in the DR so I could have time to emotionally heal together and also spend time together since we haven’t seen each other for over 4 months. This morning I decided to check the website to check processing times for K1, and what do you know? The processing times has now increased to 14 months! I am spiraling! I don’t want to go back to LA because I am worried about my mental state, but I also need to go see my doctors so I can follow up on the loss of my baby. At this point, I want to withdraw our K1 visa and opt in for the spousal visa, but I don’t want to start this whole process over! I am also annoyed with the money that has already been invested into our current application as well. We have a call with our lawyer about this, but wanted to get some feedback from people who are in the same boat as me. What are y’all’s thoughts?!
  17. @beloved_dingo @Dashinka Thank you both for your kindness. Pregnancy is not the reason for my expedite request, but simply that I am struggling from resurfaced anxiety and depression that I have been medically diagnosed with. It is now not easy to cope with right now because of my inability to take medication because of pregnancy and lack of emotional and mental support from friends and family not living within close proximity. I made sure to educate myself on the whole visa process prior to filing our forms because I wanted to be sure I wasn't making any mistakes or hasty decisions., so I understand that pregnancy alone is not a reason for expedite. While I don't want to trivialize anyone's emotional and mental state, this is something I have been struggling with for most of my life and have had the ability to cope with prior to my pregnancy because I had useful tools in life that I no longer have accessible to me (i.e. medication, support of family and friends). My clinical depression and anxiety is also manifesting physically within my body that could also be putting the health of my child at risk. @beloved_dingo I agree with what you said in using "Ask Emma" for the next request. This will be my next choice if I choose to not hire a lawyer.
  18. @Boiler I've been told that he can't get a B1/B2 because of the pending I129f form. They will make the assumption that he isn't planning to leave the country because of his already pending form with USCIS. Also, it looks like in the DR it is taking them close to 3 years to get visitor visa appointments booked! I will be visiting him next month though for a few weeks.
  19. Hi All, I'd like to preface this message by asking that you all please be kind to me in your responses. I am currently 15 weeks pregnant, super fragile and suffering from several panic attacks right now, and just need empathy and support. While I appreciate honesty, I need empathy the most right now. I am the petitioner and my fiance is the beneficiary. Yesterday I contacted USCIS customer service and put in an expedite request for my fiance and my I129f form. My pregnancy was very much so unexpected (yes, I know what happens when you're not abstinent, but it still was unexpected). Like I said earlier in my message, I am suffering from several panic attacks to the point that I broke out in hives and had to go to urgent care at one point. I have a history of anxiety and depression and was on medication for years prior to my pregnancy. 6 months ago I was in a really good place mentally and emotionally and made the decision (with my doctor and therapist of course) to carefully ween off my medication. Well now that I am pregnant my anxiety and depression has come back full force! All my close friends have recently moved to distant cities or out of state to pursue wonderful careers. My family also lives in distant cities, and my parents are not able to assist as much as they'd like because they are currently taking care of my uncle who is receiving treatment for cancer. My OB, PCP and therapist are all concerned to the point that they went out of their way on their own to write a letter for me to send to USCIS urging that my fiance is here to support emotionally and mentally through this process as I don't have any one near by at the moment to help. They also don't feel it is a good idea for me to move to his country until the birth of the child because they need to keep me under their care at this time for my health and the health of our baby. I explained all of this to the representative over the phone yesterday and got the email today that my request is denied because it doesn't fall under any of the categories to submit an expedite request. I am so confused? They didn't even give me the chance to submit documents supporting my request! Now I have to wait an additional 5 business days to submit another request. Does anyone have some advice in regards to this? I am reaching out to a lawyer but wanted to reach out for support as well because these panic attacks are overwhelming and I am concerned about the health of my baby.
