Sorry to hear this. It happens. You're fortunate to return to an environment of support where you're free from the abuse and belittlement -- and even more fortunate not to have to extricate yourself from a short-term marriage.
It will not hurt your future chances for a tourist visa. When asked, simply explain the truth of what happened. You might add that you knew that it would be illegal to stay if you couldn't adjust status, so you returned to Canada.
