  1. does anyone know if you get DS-2001 in packet 3 or if it said anything about DS-2001 in packet 3

I would just like to know why i didnt know anything about it

That's a ridiculous rule. I don't recall anything about such a form but I will check with my fiance and get back to u.

    Where do you find DS2001?

I don't know if you will need it because i don't know what your embassy requirements are.

My embassy is London and this is a requirement for the United kingdom

If anyone needs the DS-2001 form for the London Embassy follow the Link below

    http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/visa/.../DS2001list.pdf

  2. By the way my Embassy is London

I don't know if this applies to other embassies

We are waiting for packet 3 any day now. This DS 2001 isn't something they include in the packet?

Sorry you had to wait so long!! Do you have an interview scheduled now?

Well it wasn't in my packet but maybe it was just a mistake on my part or even the embassy may of forgoten to put it in my packet. any how it needs to be sent to let them know you are ready for your interview.

I haven't got my interview date but the embassy told me i would get it within 2 weeks I'm excited I can't wait to get back to my SO

  3. I found out the other day that my visa interview date hadn't been given to me because I had not sent this DS-2001 form to my embassy I was told I would of had my interview allot earlier if they had received this form

The thing is I looked through the whole of my packet 3 and it did not say anything about this but it did keep referring to a checklist and I made the assumption that the check list was the checklist that they supplied me in packet 3 I was wrong they want you to send in FORM DS-2001

Also no one ever mentioned this to me over the many phone calls to the embassy they make you wait until your case is over 60 days old until they are willing to give you this information.

please don't make the same mistake I did and extend your wait for a visa interview by a long long time..

    I hope

  4. WoooOO I have received an email saying that I have not sent them the DS-2001 form and so i faxed that to them and today I received this wonderful email

    Dear Mr. ,

Thank you for your e-mail correspondence. The Immigrant Visa Unit has received all the necessary application forms and you are now eligible for your visa intereview. Written confirmation of the date and time of your interview will be sent out to you within the next two weeks.

    Sincerely,

    Consular Information Unit

    U.S. Embassy, London

Yay its almost time for my interview

  5. Hi i waited 9 days for a response on an email and then I decided to try emailing again and I got an automated response that I didnt get the first time the response was

"Your message has been received by the Consular Information Unit. We are

currently averaging three to four days to answer email correspondence.

There is no mechanism for "status checks" while a nonimmigrant visa

application is being processed. Inquiries concerning cases which

require administrative processing or background checks, and which have

been pending less than 60 days, will not be answered.

Please do not, under any circumstances, send a duplicate or follow-on

e-mail. Repeat messages slow down our response time, and we reserve

    the

right to permanently delete all e-mails from senders who transmit

    repeat

    messages or status checks.

    Sincerely,

    Consular Information Unit"

At lest I now know when I should get a reply i must of done something wrong the first email

  6. I to have not been given an interview date the embassy received my packet 3 on the 15th of nov and still have no interview i have emailed the embassy and have had no reply for 6 days I called up and they have no information that they can give me its really getting me down

wow...since November 15th...I am so sorry. I wish you will hear soon. Have you called the Visa Office? They try to help you and encourage you. Maybe, they will get back on track soon and get you scheduled. Good Luck to you.

    Cheryl

I did call the Visa office and all they said was that they had my packet 3 on the 16th of nov thats all the information they could give me but as it has been so long from the date they got my packet i could send an email. I sent an email on the 10th of jan and I still haven't got any email or packet 3. It is so depressing as it's been so long but I keep telling myself everything is ok and its more then likely sat on someones desk.

Good luck with getting your interview date soon i wish you all the best with this and I hope I also get my date soon

  7. on the london embassy web site i found this bit of information to be honest its the only thing that is keeping me from ripping my hair out

    http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/faqs/...a_iv.html#iv200

this is a quote form the above link

"I sent in my completed forms to the Immigrant Visa Unit, when will I be scheduled an appointment for my interview?

There is currently a back-log in the Immigrant Visa Unit of forms and applications waiting to be processed. If you have submitted the completed forms in connection with the administrative processing of your application, you should allow approximately three months for your case to be processed. During this period, we regret we cannot provide information on the status of the application or confirm if the forms have been received. On completion of the administrative processing of the application, you will receive notification of the scheduled visa interview."

  8. I am sure they say 4 days or so ( thats working days ) for the embassy to reply so u should hear soon :) In cases where i have asked questions they have taken 4 days or so to reply me also do not send the same e-mail twice as they will delete it from thier system. Good luck withyour medial and interview it's all gonna happen pretty soon for ya :)

    Michelle :)

    Good advice!

On another note, I can't believe you haven't gotten a date scheduled yet! Did you list an anticipated travel date &/or wedding date on the checklist? If you have a solid date, they tend to book your interview sooner than is you write "ASAP" in those fields.

Also, when you emailed the embassy, did you get the auto-reply? My fiance emailed them once and later that same day they told him they'd get back to him in 3 - 4 days. Oddly, they called him at work the next dy, but thats another story for another day.

I hope you hear something soon!

P.S. Did you risk coming to the US for the Christmas hols?

Thanks for your message i didn't end up going to the states for the holidays i thought i would hold out its only a matter of time till i get the visa...

When i emailed the embassy i did not get an auto reply so i guess the email is just in there system some where..

i also told them i had a flight in december and i also was aiming to get married in december but it didn't help i did send them copys of my flights but it didnt seem to make any difference

  9. I phoned the embassy and asked about when I should get an interview date and they said that they don't know yet they have my packet three and it seems like everything they wanted was in the packet but they don't have any more information the only thing they could do was give me an email address with a code so I should email the embassy and ask them what is taking so long. So I sent an email and have had no reply for about 4 days I am just wondering how long I should have to wait and if I should email again as something could of happened to the first.

  10. I called the embassy once again all they told me this time that they have received my packet 3 and that it looks like everything is there but they cant give me any more information as they don't hold much info on there computers but they did say as it has been over 3 weeks they can give me an email address and a code for the subject so they wont just delete my email.. all I can do right now is wait for a response from the email I sent

  11. 12. I sent my packet 3 to the London embassy on the 15th of Nov and I still haven't had my packet 4 / interview date sent to me.

I have phoned up the Embassy about 3 times but they just wont give me any information.

Its now been 48 days from sending my packet 3 over night delivery to the Embassy should I be worried or will it be OK?

call the extortion line...find out what the delay is. There are people who have sent packet 3 in the last 3 weeks got dates now.

I have called this number 09042-450100 but they just tell me that it is being processed and that they don't have any more information. I feel lost :(

  13. I am making a last minute choice to either fly to the US and risk getting turned away at Point of Entry or to hold it out in the Uk until my interview.

The thing is i would just get on a plane and fly right to the USA but i just called the US embassy to find out what is happening with my visa interview and also to find out if i was to fly to the US and get turned away would it effect my K1 visa they couldn't tell me anything about my application for my visa and they said they wouldn't fly to the USA at the moment as it would look like I didn't want to hang around for the results of my K1. and the man also said that it could drastically implicate my K1 visa but he couldn't actually tell me if it would directly effect it or not..

I would just like any advice has anyone ever got turned down at Point of Entry?? What happens??? Will it effect my K1??? I Have travelled to the US on the Visa Waver 4 times consecutively in the Past and this would be the last time that i would need to do it I just need to know what will happen if worst came to worst.

By the way i have no real ties to England my home so i cant take proof with me.

  14. Thanks every one for all the advice Its all been very useful. I'm still contemplating what i should do but i guarantee any information that is in this thread will be used.

I have been given a bit of a boost in confidence and will keep searching for more information on my options

I agree qith the others about holding off on coming to the US again. My fiance did two near 90 day visits on the VWP, with 2 mos. in between, then waited 3 & 1/2 months before coming over agian and was grilled in secondary for visiting too often. Frankly, I am surprised you've been allowed 4 such visits! And envious, as my fiance would have come back for another visit had they not told him to stay out of the US until he had a visa.

But like Mox said, being turned away on the VWP will not jeopardize your K1 visa. It will however cost you lots of money, since you are sent home on the first flight back to the UK at your expense! Bring your sweetie to the UK for the hols if you can't wait! Even with the exchange rate, I'd hazard a guess it'd be cheaper than getting turned away in the US. Plus, the heartbreak of that getting turned away scenario is too killer for me! How bad would that suck??

For us, we had last Christmas together, but not this year. Its really sad for me and him, but I'm heading over mid-January and spending a week then to have a belated Christmas. With any luck he'll be back with me on his K1 visa within a month of that!

You're in the home stretch now Scott! You can make it!!

You always seem to come up with an answer that helps me out JULEZABELLE

So everyone is sure that getting turned away at point of entry will not jeopardise my K1

and the worst is they will interrogate me and make me pay for a flight back to the UK ?

  15. I agree with the previous posts. Don't take the risk. Next Christmas will make up for this rough holiday season. Next year this time you will be with your SO, you'll be married and you'll have a lovely Christmas and New Year's.

I feel your pain and I'm sure lots of others here do too.

    You'll make it through!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks very much for your post

your right I don't want to risk anything I would be devastated if i didn't get my visa coz of one short trip to the States. I'm just so desperate for some kind of solution but i don't think I will find one :(

I will be there eventually but the sooner the better

  16. *notices and is envious of 92 day til NOA2 date*

I think sometimes we have to bite the bullet and get on with it - I've known my OH for six years, been with him for two and this is going to be our first Christmas together so like I said - I feel very lucky but we have defo earned it with all our waiting!

I know I am so lucky i was able to spend last Christmas with my OH and we will be together soon it's just a matter of time. but I guess its been a year sense we have spent more then 2 weeks apart so it does hurt to be away from her. But i am still very lucky to of spent the amount of time i have with my OH.

I know 92 days it was so quick i think it was down to the Vermont service centre and that we got the congress man to look to see what was going on with our case.
