  1. LIN Filer here on AOS in July 2021. No word still about our I-751. But last July 2022 we qualified to apply for naturalization and promptly filed an N-400 with local office at Seattle, WA. Today roughly 61 days since lodging the N-400 online, we received in postal mail of N-400 interview scheduled on November 2022. So if you are eligible for N-400 and your I-751 is still stuck, go for the N-400. Any recommendations from the thread to prepare for potentially a dual interview for I-751 and N-400 will be gratefully appreciated. Cheers, G&A
  2. As you rightly did. 😊 I just got my N400 interview notice in the mail after I posted my comment. Filed in July 2022 and I got an interview schedule for November 2022. I-751 still pending, and I'm preparing to have both cases adjudicated during the interview. Any recommendations for N400 review resources to prepare for the interview will be much appreciated though. Cheers, G&A
  3. My estimated processing time just moved from 8 months to 10, any one seeing the same extended indicator for their case? Thanks, G&A
  4. Returned from Asia, with expired GC and original extension letter presented at airport of origin, no problem at all. At US port of entry, typical CBP check, didn't ask for the extension letter, didn't go through secondary screening. I think it also helped that I was able to use the Trusted Traveller counter of Global Entry as a TSA Precheck member. Cheers, G&A
  5. Updating the members of the thread, Today my N-400 estimated time to process has gone down from 12 mos to 9 mos. Seattle processing is moving 25% faster! 🥳 Hip Hip!
  6. Congratulations on your N400 interview notice. From what I read around here, your actual interview date depends on your local processing center, and CA should be quite quick. Have you tried going into your online USCIS account to see the actual notice, they would post that in your history while they also send the paper document by mail. For your preparation go to: https://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/find-study-materials-and-resources About your husband coming to the interview, see your interview notice. Other people in this thread would recommend that you bring your husband and let him wait in the car while you go in and if in case the IO asks for your husband you can always call him to walk in. N400 applications do not get approved ahead of the I751. They are likely to be adjudicated at the same time, so be prepared for the I751 to be part of your N400 interview. This is where your husband is likely to be needed. Good luck with the N400 interview Cheers,
  7. Hello Seattle N400 Fillers, Last night I received a call from a friend who filed his N400 in March this year at Seattle processing center, and he got an interview schedule notice for an interview in Portland, Oregon next month in September. Cheers, G&A
  8. You can check out the worksheet for this thread. You will find the difference in approval timelines. Cheers,
  9. Hello Vicolas, It has not been a month yet since we submitted our N400 online. Judging from our experience since AOS, I think its reasonable to expect a notification only after 30 days. What we have received is an immediate confirmation of receipt and the notification for the reuse of biometric data, followed by the same information in two separate paper mailed documents. I am not concerned about N400 slowing down a pending I-751 anymore, so far the online status of our N400 shows estimated processing time of 12 months, and thats still within the 24-month extension period given for expired GC validity after filing for I-751 ROC. I think I-751 will continue to be processed separately from N400, it is not an automatic USCIS thing to combine them both and relegated for processing in the same local office assigned for your residence. So in our case I-751 in Nebraska LIN center, and N400 in Seattle, WA. And since we have not received any notifications on I-751 being transferred to another office after filing for N400, I am hoping my theory proves correct. Good luck on your N400 application. Cheers, G&A
  10. Appreciate this as well, thank you. And just for more understanding by similarly "confused" N400 filers like me, I believe the facts are in the details. Below I am pasting the text of the N-400 biometric reuse notice received by mail: U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition, or request. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past; however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment. The biometrics fee will not be refunded. USCIS is continuing to process your application, petition, or request. USCIS will contact you in writing if any additional information is necessary to resolve your case. This notice is not an approval of your pending application, petition, or request. To ensure you receive all correspondence from USCIS, you must update your address if you move. For instructions, visit https://www.uscis.gov/ addresschange. USCIS may use your biometrics to check the criminal history records of the FBI, for identity verification, to determine eligibility, to create immigration documents (e.g., Green Card, Employment Authorization Document, etc.), or any purpose authorized by the Immigration and Nationality Act. You may obtain a copy of your own FBI record using the procedures outlined within Title 28 C.F.R., Section 16.32. For Privacy Act information, please visit https://www.fbi.gov/services/cjis/compact-council/ privacy-act-statement. Cheers, G&A
  11. Thank you. You seem like a nice person. Cheers, G&A
  12. Hello, Jumping into the conversation regarding Biometrics being refreshed. We filed an N400 this July and got a prompt confirmation receipt by mail and a notice on the reuse of biometrics data taken at AOS. If they intended to reuse the biometrics taken at AOS, why would biometrics need any refreshing? Is there any information around USCIS requiring biometrics to be at the most any number of years old? Would love to know the facts around biometrics. Cheers, G&A
  13. N400 filed while ROC pending at LIN service center. We received in the mail the confirmation receipt and the waiving of biometrics for N400, case assigned to NBC service center. Cheers, G&A
  14. Hi Steve3990, Mandatory upload for scans of Green Card and Marriage Certificate. I'm applying for naturalization from AOS, marriage to a US citizen. It could be different for others who are applying as a family member or from K1/IR/CR visas. After those uploads, the online N400 application has yellow warning notes about uploading other documents to ensure a smooth processing, but they do also indicate that you can choose to bring the other document evidence during the naturalization interview. We decided we will front load the documents, and we intend to bring other documentation such as IRS tax transcripts among others. Hope this helps you. Cheers, G&A
  15. Good morning everyone, The day has come. We have filed for N400 online and for those yet to file, the additional evidence required are: - Past 3 years IRS documents showing you have filed/paid tax - Passport scan of your U.S. citizen spouse - Joint financial documents, bank accounts, credit cards - Insurance documents, life, property, auto - Other evidence For the tax documents I only scanned my 1040 returns for 2021, 2020, and 2019, I plan to get tax transcripts for myself and my spouse at a later date when an interview is scheduled, because that's when you'll possibly need it (in this regard, consider signing up an ID.me + IRS account so you can request transcripts online). For the joint financial documents we scanned a selection of joint bank account statements, 3 months for 2022 (June, May, April), 2021 (July, June, May), 2020 (July, June, May), 2019 (July, June, May), 2018 (July, June, May) - note we scanned these and uploaded as one file - we assumed that we had to show joint financial documents since marriage. We also scanned credit cards, FSA cards, health insurance cards, and uploaded as one file. The only other evidence we uploaded is a selection of photographs from date of marriage to about last month when we had a wedding in the family. The confirmation of application fee payment was immediate by email. USCIS confirmation of receipt of application still to come. Our local office is in Seattle, WA. Cheers, G&A AOS, marriage to US Citizen ROC filed July 20, 2021
  16. Hello everyone, Does anyone know if tax transcripts are required for the initial upload of evidence for online N-400 application? I realize many of you in the thread are awaiting the slow updates from LIN and have already qualified to file for N-400 naturalization. To those who have filed an N-400 while I-751 is still pending, we would appreciate your response. Cheers, G&A
  17. Hi seattleAOS, Did you by any chance find out if they were ROC from an AOS application? I noticed there is a difference in processing times for those who are on other ROC applications from K1 or IR/CR, which are expectedly having shorter approval periods from ROC filing. Cheers, G&A
  18. I will be following your footsteps then Colorred 😁 but I don't think we should consider ourselves victims. My cousin just had her Naturalization ceremony in Portland and she lives in Seattle. Her N400 was filed exactly 12 months ago. Thank you for writing in. Cheers, G&A
  19. Hi Catseal thank you for responding to my post, I appreciate it. I am on a holding pattern until I become eligible for naturalization next month, I did read around the VJ threads about N400 applications prolonging the ROC processing especially in Seattle. So that is giving me reservations about submitting an N400 before my ROC gets a decision. My ROC is in the LIN processing center. Thank you again for writing in. Cheers, G&A
  20. Anyone in this thread with Seattle, WA as your local USCIS processing office? I read somewhere that filing an N-400 before receiving ROC approval may set back the processing further by another year or two. Thoughts? Thanks for writing back. G&A
