Good evening... just saw this group... I submitted my DS-260 on 4/5/2023 and just got DQ'd today for CR-1.

Did something change with Nebraska? I read someone else say they got their approval "just before they changed timeframes" or something along those lines, but not sure what that meant?

I got approved the night before the timeline changed. Right now, Nebraska is 13-15 months... so hang in there.

I know it's tough and being away from those you care.🙌

  4. Good Morning.. Hope everyone is well and hanging in there. Sorry I haven't posted in a long while, just its difficult to keep track of all the social groups and limited myself to 3...hhahh

Anyways, Congratulations to those who got approved. It just gets better from here.  As for me, We got approved last Wednesday the 22nd, formal letter by Thursday the 23rd, Case Closed by Friday morning the 24th, Friday evening Case sent to NVC, and got welcome letter yesterday evening and lawyer paid fees this morning.

So its moving quicker than before.... I feel like I need to "wait" after all the waiting, and now that it is flowing, it's like "wooooo...slow down". Hoping for good news for those that are still  waiting.

Are there others from the Feb 22 group who still haven't received their approval yet? Feeling discouranged. :(

Hang in there. Nebraska right now is 13-15 months. We just got approved last Tuesday night before the change in dates occurred. I would say if are approaching the 15 month mark, I would start writing to USCIS and Immigration Department at the White House and just nag them with a letter once a month.

It is a tough process, especially being far from your loved ones, but hopefully you will get a response soon.

Hi!  I have almost the exact same PD and NOA dates and my husband is also in Colombia.  Our case is at the California Processing Center.  I have the same questions that you posted regarding the documents that are needed for NVC.  Were you ever able to get an answer?  This second NVC process is so stressful.  We’ve already been waiting to get approved by USCIS, the last thing we want is to submit the wrong documents to NVC and delay it any further.  I hope you get an approval soon!

Hello.. yes I did get an answer. I am actually in 2 groups on whats app. One is for February 2022 filers (one person already got approved) and another is a Colombian group but there doesn't seem to be  not too many  movement there.  No one ever posts anything. IF you would like to connect or want to be added to the Whats app group and let me know. Send me a direct number that we can add you there's about 25 of us. I be happy to share the info I have to this point. Fingers crossed hopefully this will go by quickly.

Has anybody seen a "Processing Time" tab in the main USCIS page where you check on your case documents and whatnot?

I logged in today and just noticed this new tab was added on mine, is this new or has this been a thing?

Either way gives me hope it may be sooner than I thought! Finger's crossed.

yes..just noticed it also. Mine says that my case is taking longer to process than expected.

  8. HI.. It all depends whether if you want the person here quick, but can't work right away OR take a little longer to arrive with papers and ability to work. If the beneficiary has a minor and has other parent's permission, you apply at the same time completing the I-130. This application does ask if you are petitioning any children.  The way we did it, I went to Colombia and got married through court at the Notario (small and quick), came back to the states and filed the paperwork right away. Then returned about 2 months later for the reception with the family etc... We did this to get the paperwork going since this is the process that takes the longest. Now, its just waiting, but we got a 2 month jump on wait time. With the K1, yes they get here quicker, 90 days to marry and then do an Adjustment of Status (I have heard this takes time, and almost as long as of you would of filed the CR1-), however you can't work until you got a social security number. With CR-1, yes its about a year, but when person arrives, their SS# should arrive shortly and can work. So it all depends what you prefer.  Hope this helps.

  9. Hi there.. I totally get it with the "waiting" portion and we want to speed things up. As some people have suggested, take this time to get to know each other more and try to do things together as if your were together in person. I met my husband while playing Call of Duty and he lives in South America. We play together, watch movies together and try to eat at least one meal together everyday. I sent him board games that we can play over ZOOM (connect 4, battle ship etc..) and just try to keep it light. I try to stay positive and not go too much by what people say about the timeline. My timeline on VJ is like 2 months later than what the agent told me from USCIS my over the time processing time. So we make small milestones...IF by August (which would be 6 months) we hear nothing, then we know we wait until October to then reach out to check on case. If nothing happens then wait till December. So basically we try and work with 2 months at a time instead of years... in the meantime we find ways to get some of the paperwork, work on resume, cell phone UNO, check out travel and accommodations for when the time comes, continue to file and save our pictures and messages. We also take time to 3 way talk to both of our parents, the kids etc..  I also make a point to visit every 3-4 months and look forward to that.  It really becomes frustrating when I am going through something alone and I need a hug, but he finds a way to "let's do something" thinking to try and change the mood. We rarely say we miss each other (it just heightens that feelings) we just always say "see you later or tomorrow".  Hang in there! I am still in the early stages and wish this could go quicker, but the more I think about it, the slower time goes.

    Good morning, guys.

My name is Carlos and I have been doing this process for almost 6 months. my wife and I submitted all our documents, but the marriage certificate and birth certificate were declined by NVC saying this "Part of this document is missing or is difficult to read. Please replace this with a scan that shows the complete text of the document. Please ensure all sides of every page are scanned and visible. Please visit https://nvc.state.gov/scan for further guidance. We scaned properly and it was clear. We called NVC to request more details about their message, but they told us the same thing. Do you guys have any advise or if someone has gone through the same, can you guys help us?

For marriage certificate has a lot of pages and I do not know how to become almos 6mg to 2mg that they ask in the NVC platform.

    Special Seal(s) / Color / Format:

    • Complete copies of the page of the book where the marriage  was registered (copia del folio).

    • They are issued on plain white paper and certified by the notary public with an original signature over either a wet seal or a sticker.

Scan front and back even if it is blank. and make sure it is translated into English. You are going to need this anyways when you come to the States, and its cheaper to translate in Colombia than here. Also, translate your birth certificate also. This will be useful when doing AOS.

You did so, but the beneficiary passport is not a required document when filing the petition.  The beneficiary is not even required to HAVE a passport at that stage and many don't.  Don't confuse what you did, with what is required.

A....REASON...for submitting copies of a page or two of the beneficiary's passport is if some of the couple's time together was in a third country.  Then copies of entry and exit stamps showing each with in the third country, is submitted as relationship evidence.

Well...we did. Did it through a lawyer who works with immigration and with the fickly country we dealing with. But its ok. It doesnt bother me.

Here's my situation. I had a religious wedding ceremony in Colombia and received a marriage certificate. When I came back to the states I registered my marriage certificate with the Colombian Consulate. They took my marriage certificate and gave me a civil registry of marriage document. The title of this document is "Organización Electoral Registraduria Del Estado Civil".

Now, form I-130 asks for a copy of my marriage certificate and they want it translated into English. So, my question is do I need to have both documents translated or only the marriage certificate?

I would get copies of both and get them translated (front and back) in Colombia..much cheaper. Better to have more than later need it. Im in same boat but had a civil marriage and its the same thing and had to be translated.

I think you are a little bit confused. He will not be required to take all the vaccines that a person need to take since the birth. Some vaccines need to be take in certain ages and different reasons.

He will probably receive a recommendation from the physician about the necessary ones.

You can try to email the doctor before the appointment and ask this. I did it and took all my needed vaccines in a lab that I choose.

Maybe I didn't communicate well, but I am not confused. I know its the vaccine that's needed. But that is still part of your medical record.  However, he is already up to date with his vaccine. The issue is that in Colombia they destroy medical records after 20 years.  Therefore  having no proof that he has had them, and not really a fan of just taking vaccines (especially the same one more than once). I did call, and they didn't want to provide the cost of the vaccine or cost of the appt.  over the phone. Just curious how other people in Colombia have dealt with finding their records.

  14. Just now, Mor said:

Exactly, his vaccinations that he has had has been discarded because its been  more than 20 years. The vaccines  they need (most of them) we got them when we were kids or teens.

Also, if he is missing any vaccine, I have been already told that the medical doctors charge way more to get them with them. There has been complaint about that. Basically, whatever vaccine records he already has had there is no proof, meaning he might have to take them ALL again.

If he needs to take some of them, rather do it in his home town and pay cheaper. However, its a lot of vaccines

  15. 3 minutes ago, PaulaCJohnny said:

What medical records are you talking about?

Before the interview your spouse will be asked to go to a doctor recommended by the US Embassy. And this records would be delivered to him/her directly or sent to the Embassy.

The only previous information that he/she need to show is the vaccination records.

    Good luck

  16. Hello. So I know that a medical records is needed for the person going to the interview and needed to enter the U.S.  What happens when the country keeps no records? My husband lives in Colombia. He is 43 years old. Colombia has an archive law that states after 20 years, medical history records (includind vaccines) are discarded.  So how does he go about to obtain something that doesn't quite exist?
