Al422 got a reaction from David-Francinie in Please Help ASAP! USCIS Not accepting original divorce decree
I am a lawyer and have done many divorces. This is not a divorce decree, just a certificate that says you are divorced. USCIS is correct. Glad you were able to get an actual decree.
You don't need a certified copy for the USCIS but get one anyway as you will need it for the interview. For USCIS a legible photocopy with translation is good enough.

    Absolutely correct statement.
BUT if you fail to file within 90 days of your POE, you are out of status. While you are out of status, you are at risk of being deported. Still the chance of that happening is about the same as an asteroid falling on your head, even after you file the late AOS. Additionally, USCIS does not wish to penalize you for doing the right thing (filing AOS), so such a filing will not prompt them to deport or do anything else bad.
So don't worry about getting caught unless you do something foolish, like leave the country and try to get back in, venture close to the border where the roaming checkpoints might catch up with you, or apply for a job in a place that might get raided by ICE.
But how long do you want to live your life like this when complete legalization is just $1.070.00 away? If you have the money, file it and get things right.

7 days ahead is fine. Some people have gotten away with as little as 3.
But do you have to wait for the 22nd? Your period should be over by the 15th. You don't really have to wait 7 days after your period, They just tell you that to make sure it is over. As long as you are sure it is over, you are good to go.
If you can, you should consider going on the 16th or 17th because lines are shortest there on Thursdays and Fridays. Failing that, go Monday the 20th. That gives you 9 days, plenty of time in advance and plenty of time past your period as well.
When was the urine test discontinued? My wife did hers in May of this year and had a urine test. She went 8 days in advance of interview and did fine.

You have spotting already? Too late. Wait for your period to be over. Blood spots will contaminate the urine sample, and they will reject it.
What day is your interview on? Will you be cutting it close? A little plannng here will go a long way.
I have read stories where people cut it close and told St. Luke's about it, and they helped these people get things done on time.
Note the days your period starts and stops because you will be asked by both the doctor and the nurse.
You will be fine mainly because you have been doing the smart thing of asking instead of guessing. We will continue to do our best to help.

I second that. Why get up at 4 AM so you can be on the line at 6 AM twice? The med will not be done until the second time you go there, so might as well do it all after your period is done.
Or even better, do it now before your period starts. As long as you are confident your simple cold and cough is just that and nothing serious, don't worry about it. Neither a simple cold nor a simple cough will cause you to fail the exam.

Manila definitely will not do it during a period. Other med offices are lax on that, but Manila is strict on it.
If you are sure the cough and cold are not something more than that, like bronchitis, then go. If the doctor asks, tell her that you have a cough and cold and let her examine you for it as she pleases. As long as it is nothing worse, nothing will come of it.
And if you went to a doctor for it, bring in whatever records the doctor has as well as any medicines the doctor prescribed.

The only stupid question is the one not asked. The only stupid action is failure to act, causing problems for your visa. We want your visa to be easy and smooth and are glad to help any way we can. Keep right on asking questions.

All pages of the 1040 PLUS the W-2. Or goto IRS website and download a tax return transcript.
The reason they will not accept just a 1040 is because fraud is way too easy: You can get a blank form and fill in your own numbers. They want to see something coming from your employer or the IRS.

Doctors are usually the worst in taking blood. Nurses are gentler, and blood techs, who do it all day long, are the best at it.

However, with the high cost of medical services in the US, you will probably save many hundreds of dollars getting them done before you leave.
You can't do them before the medical exam because the doctor doing the exam is the one who decides which ones you need.

Is this what you sent in response to the RFE? It should fly.
Many people do not understand that photos alone will not do it. I can put myself on the moon with Photoshop, but that does not mean I was there. Plane tickets, hotel receipts, receipts for meals and other things you bought there, passport stamps, that is what they really want to see (in addition to the photos).

Correct that nobody else is allowed into the building with her. However, they can wait with her outside the building until she is called in. For Candy, I arranged for a male relative to wait with her outside the building, both for company and for security since it is early in the morning and still dark outside.
Thursday is a good day to get there since children can only go Monday to Wednesday, resulting in shorter lines. And while it is not guaranteed, it makes it more likely you will get it done in one day.

Al422 got a reaction from kehills in Which vaccines does my fiance' need?
The US Civil Surgeon and the panel doctor at the medical clinic in his country of origin follow the same set of criteria in deciding what vaccines he needs. Judgment does come into play, so it may vary by a vaccine or two, but they are largely the same.
The cost, however, is not the same. Much cheaper in his country of origin, and maybe even free. The side effects are not terrible and go away usually in 2 to 3 days, and they protect him from illnesses that might kill him if he is ever exposed to them. So there is really not much to lose by getting them anyway.

I just read a post about someone who ran into trouble because her USC fiance had criminal convictions that he hid from her, and the CO knew about them. When the CO asked her about any criminal record by him, she said NO.
None of the convictions made him ineligible to be a petitioner on a K-1. All he had to do was come clean to her so she would come to the interview armed with the truth and then no problems.
Just a lesson for those petitioners who think they are helping by hiding something from their fiances.

As the USC, you are still good despite your past record. You need 3 DUI or drug convictions or a crime of moral turpitude (e.g. rape) to knock you out of the box. That is not the issue. The issue is her lack of knowledge of your past life. That is causing the CO to question how well she knows you and/or whether she really did not know (forgivable) or is lying (non-forgivable). All you can do now is wait and see what happens.
The better choice would have been to come clean with her so when she is asked "Did you know he did blah blah blah", she can respond with "Yes I know. We talked about it and i am satisfied he is a better person and will not do such things now." But that is water under the bridge for you.

Won't negotiate with terrorists? You had better tell that to Ronald Reagan, who sold a boatload of missles to the terrorist government of Ayatollah Khomeni and then used the proceeds to support the terrorist Contras who were fighting the elected government of Nicaragua.
Yes, Obama did reduce the deficit. It is less than half now from when he took office.
And I sitll have my pre-Obamacare doctors.
One more thing to complete my two cents: Even if this soldier is guilty of desertion, he is still entitled to a fair trial at a court martial board. Abandoning him to the enemy is never approproiate, guilty or not.

Bad choice if you want to do another K-1 with another lady. IMBRA limits tne number of I129(f)s you can file, both in number and how far apart they are spaced. But if you stop the process before the NOA2 is issued, this one will not count against you.
