  1. oh boy...it seems like it's purely random and chaotic operation at USCIS (just what I would expect out of a govt organization). I really wish you all and myself good luck through this journey. I hope that we don't lose our good characters and merits due to the extremely challenging and frustrating process that is the US immigration.

    Cheers,

Yes its totally random - so best to prepare for the worst and be happy for the best. Not getting a touch until an approval is typical also - just keep reading and reading the forums and be educated on your next steps -

Sorry that someone cant just say yes it will be six months, that does not happen nor will it in the near future, that was the worst part for us.

Wishing you godspeed on your journey.

p.s Ole - wth - i thought u would be thru this mass of confusion by now omg mate am i reading ur timeline wrong or what??

  2. SusieK ,I just noticed that your POE is Atlanta. I am going there too. Any problems at the airport there? I am nervous.

    Hi !!!

Kris has stop over there mate, read a few reviews not bad actually - they will probably let the cat in but not him lol -j/k wish he had direct to Orlando but again you guys are legally able to enter the USA as immigrants with a huge stamp and mysterious brown envelope so they cant say NO - heard one story in atlanta took about 20 minutes max so thats not bad!!

Good Luck and dont be nervous, nervous was for USCIS and interview, but now time to be excited!!!!

    Cheers

  3. Stumbles across this thread and just shakes head - I am so sorry Tammy, and also for others that have done this journey the correct way and have been thrown into the black hole.

Hun hang on - i know its easier to say in my shoes to you, but inshallah, you will hear good news soon - stay informed, draw strength from other members here and keep writing to your politicans for any type of answers that will get you thru this -

I am so truly sorry as a good friend of mine got put into AP last week and its like it was a knife thru the heart.

What can I say but this

YOU DONT GIVE UP - we plan, God laughs and yet there is a reason for everything, and its not ours to question why (yes i have read the Koran) but to accept and keep going forward.

DONT GIVE UP please, you are hopefully almost done and then when the call comes to say come bring passport, you can leave this ####### behind and start your life.

just alot of prayers to you and others -

  4. A joint sponsor can be any U.S. citizen, U.S. national, orlawful permanent resident who is at least 18 years old, domiciled in the United States, or its territories or possessions, and willing to be held jointly liable with the petitioner for thesupport of the intending immigrant. A joint sponsor does nothave to be related to the petitioning sponsor or the intendingimmigrant.

Best i could find. and yes correct on the I864a since the joint sponsor would not be a family member - Thanks alth - could remember the wording - hopefully I havent confused the OP too much

    Cheers

  5. There is a thread here for those forms, we started with the I-864 but thats for IRI/CRI then switched over at embassy stage to a I-864a showing hubbies assets would cover all since I am self employed and they did not like my bottom line on Schedule C. You will still have to fill out the form, but if im not mistaken, the co sponsor does the I-864A-

I remember that your co sponsor could be anyone living in the USA LEGALLY and did not have to be a family member- if you look at the forms on USCIS pull up the correct form that applies to your situation and that should be able to help you otherwise another member here can post or you can check the other threads. Yikes to early to give you the link sorry luv, but god speed!

  6. Yes,her income is above the proverty line.At first I was wondering if any kind of evidences that can be used instead of transcripts as she's a senior citizen and doesn't have to pay tax, but as you said so we have to wait til my husband pays a new tax year then resubmit I-864 again. It is hard to get a joint sponsor as they are scared of obligation. :-(

Thanks very much again for your reply :-)

yes your right alth is hard to get a co sponsor because of the obligation the only people can be our co sponsor is the person that is related to our husband..we have the same situation my mother in law is my co sponsor also and her tax return she did not make enough but she has retirement and VA disability that will cover above the poverty requirement and our case is already complete but i am not sure if i am good to go for interview about it...but good luck for both of us

??? Did the rule change on that??? A co sponsor can be anyone living within the USA with the correct amount of assets.

    When did that rule change?

    Clueless again ugghhh

  7. Yeah just keep it in your hand luggage. I took it with me, fully expecting not needing to show it. But you don't want to be the one person that's turned back because they don't have it with them.

Thanks mate, ok carry on it is along with "GIT" the cat and one hand luggage - with our luck they will ask lol

    Cheers!!!!!

  8. Very good answers to your questions-

Keep in mind that when including real estate as assets, they are not only looking for "A CURRENT APPRAISAL" but also the redempetion amount " as they say in the UK.

Altho we were on the IRI/CRI route, it was an issue and even tho everything was just fine, they wanted the redemption slip which hubbie left at home. They were not looking at USD even tho on our I-864a we showed conversion rate from pounds to dollars as of the date of completing the form.

You have no clue what they are going to want, and I have learned IMHO - the more the better to have when AOS or even interview time comes. Im not saying tis right nor wrong, but again, having what they might ask for saves you alot of stress and worry.

Have seen a few who were asked at time of interview on a K1 about this - just be prepared or should i say over prepared.

    God Speed and Cheers

  9. Cheers all - Ok Kris has VISA whoot and arriving in the USA on the 15th of this month -

    Quick question for now.....

I know he keeps that mysterious brown envelope and such for customs, but what about the Xrays, do we use them for place mats are what?? sorry sik humor.

IS POE even interested in them or do they get packed in the luggage?

Cheers mates and thanks for all the support

    Susie

  10. Please avoid any problems before you get to NVC- go to doctor get write up that you are mentally ok etc etc., but again, this wont be a time for jumping thru hoops, they take it seriously mate - Please if you are serious, look at Guiness69 and what has happened there.

I only wish you the best, but dont presume it will be ok and of course never ever lie, it could have been years ago as was the case of Guiness, but it seems to be a sticky point for the embassy (and yes this was London) -

Tis better to be prepared and pass then not be prepared and get hammered with AR or AP.

    God Speed

  11. So I took Garu's advice and called the operator and got a live person who did in fact have both our case received and our INN number! Thanks for the suggestion. I think I will ensure that I get a live operator from now on for any updates on our case. Clearly the automated system is not reliable!

    Cheers and congrats!

The AVC is actually pretty good, but NVC is a bit backed up not much, but keep in mind that if your file is coming from CSC it takes longer than from Vermont - long thread on that somewhere - but again the AVC is good with certain information,. god speed and good luck

  12. Problem here is that Knightsbridge will report findings to Embassy and will want a doctors statement from you satisfying that you are ok, but our mates did that and they are now at CDC in Atlanta in AP - ya just never know, good luck. It is an issue dont be fooled.

I think its common practise with British teens

After the last two weeks probably a common practice with Americans on Wall Street also
