  1. In another area of the forum which i just discovered because I am somewhat of a newbie I found this article and yes I did write to the journalist who did the write up.....maybe if more wrote to her it would be a quizzical nature for her to pursue further.

The article is about VJ and how many people are members etc. If you would like to write to the journalist just click on her name in the article and it will give you the format to email...

I think the more action that is shown about what is going would be a positive for all here. My main thrust to her was that if USCIS was doing a fee increase, ok so be it, but again, prepare to have the influx of applications streaming in.

Its like living in the hurricane belt of the southeast. Hurricane season approaching so peeps are buying lumber, flashlights etc, and they store says ok everyone, we are going to raise our prices next week, so you know that people are going to be in line waiting to buy. So be prepared. If you are going to raise prices, expect the expected and have enough people to deal with and supplies. . But for USCIS and other offices dont make the waiting time unbearable for people that are waiting for their loved ones, at least touch a file within the allocated time stated.

    :help:

  2. This is a double edged sword..................

I read that article and yeah for Visa Journey. But i went one step forward and send an email to Karin who wrote the article asking if she would like to dig deeper into the mess that is now going on. My main point was that with USCIS raising the fees, ok sure we can deal with this when love is involved, but if you are going to raise your rates, then hire more people for the influx of applications that will bombard your office.

Will let all know if she responds. If not, have in at CNN, and they would love this story.

    Cheers

    Susie

  3. Filed I-130 in TSC, received and signed 10-18-07, waiting for the NOA1 to file I-129F, check has not been cashed.

Not sure if Im outta line here but our lawyer filed all at the same time (received 8/30/07) but not yet touched fyi, and alot of people are not aware of this.....there is no need to wait for the 1-129F anymore, as long as it shows receipt of the package means that the I130 was received. Its somewhere in these great threads so hope it helps

    Cheers and gl

  5. Hi everyone this is my 1st post after viewing these excellent and helpful forums for past 6mths or so. Without VJ this whole process would be so much more difficult so just want to say thanks to all VJers on here and to whoever created this website!!!!! Anyway I am an August filer and just to add to this thread we posted our I129F form on 3rd August 2007 when my fiance visited me in England. This was received at csc on 11th then added to system on 17th August 2007. We received our NOA1 by post a few days later and USICS shows last updated on 8/23/2007. The last time we checked our cheque had not been cashed, however we haven't checked with the bank in the last week or so. There hasn't been any touches since this date. Im currently in the US with my fiance and have been so since 26th August and Im due to leave on 23rd November to go back to my job so the first stage has been less stressful as we have been together during this time.

Anyway good luck to us all in our quest to get our lifes on track..cus it sucks having to have your life held in the balance by someone else and it completely messes with your emotions not knowing where you stand

Filed on August 28th all the forms through lawyer, K3 I129 I130 and as of today nothing so basically I dont even look any more to see if we have been touched....such a joke, and yet I cant even laugh except at what they post on their websites. Applications received in Texas on 30th of August and then probably sent to California.

Called USCIS get really good people, but one was exceptional and this is what she said to me......yes wait the 90 days before really getting upset and DO NOT GO BY WHAT IS POSTED - wow, an honest worker. anyways will just go about life as if I was this wasnt happening and waiting for this BS to end...maybe when the process all the workers permits we may get a NO1 - but not holding my breathe anymore - tis a joke........

Good Luck to all and have a good one hope someone gets touched today, no in fact I hope all of you do.

Cheers and yes totally beyond frustration..

    Susie

p.s if anyone wants to know why i just dont call our lawyer, dont worry I did that also....and my senator and such.....but ya know you can only do so much without being obessed with this whole sorry issue.

  6. We have not been touched so far. That really makes me worried. I miss my hubby so much. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

dont know when this stupid wait would come to an end. Sorry, for saying the same thing over and over. I am really frustrated right now and I have nobody else to talk to. I wish I could tell my hubby how frustrated I am, but then he keeps asking me to stay upbeat. I am sure he feels the same deep down inside but just wont express it to me. god! please help us. :crying::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2::cry2:

Hubbys a good man, you know us hubbys don't want our wife to worry.

Take strength from him for now. Soon you both can build your family.

As far as the time each of us are alive its just a moment in time.........

Stay strong, you can do it

sigh hun, hang in there it will be worth it soon, and dont feel alone, I feel the same way some days, just want to toss it out the window and just forget the whole thing, the heartache of being alone without my husband, but then he picks me up and says noooooooooooooooo....

    hang on babes xxxxxxx

  7. I sent I-129F on August 13, check still not cashed yet, already no energy to be worried. :(

did you try to contact them, just to make sure that they did not lose your application?

CSC is still taking a little longer than VSC to process applications. As long as you know they have it, there is not much else you can do by calling them, unfortunately :(

    :time:

Helps everyone have accurate statistics! Thanks!

    Vanessa

There are a bunch of August filers here that are waiting. I'm on my 7th week.

Yes dont worry mine received in Texas on August 30th and they still have not cashed - patience, pffttttt. but tis the only word i can give you....they told me to wait the 90 days before asking for more information - and oh yes, we had a lawyer do all paperwork. System pretty messed up now but at least your found this fourm like I did, helps us understand what is going on each day. My kudo's to all for the help

    cheers

  8. they said it could take from 30 days - 2 years... oh boy... :crying: :crying: :crying: I already told her and we are both very sad at this.. :crying: :crying: they say to expect at least 6 months time...

204 days + 6 months... man... that's too long... ==> 400 days just to get approved...

    that's messed up...

Gogo, I know it is probably hard with this awful peice of bad news but you must try to keep your morale up.

I mentioned in another thread that everyone undergoes normal security checks but if they find something "out of the ordinary" then they will start additional checks. Maybe someone with a criminal record has the same name as you and they are trying to determine that that person is definitely not you.

Going out on a limb here (as I'm curious)... Does the fact that you work for the US government mean that the USCIS have to be extra vigilant?

ABSURD Im sorry to hear this and first I have heard about, do you think that since China is rising its star as an upcoming super power they are worried about a married couple - cant believe what is going on with this whole issue.....

Susie, this is not related to the country his spouse is from. As Gogo mentioned, Iray has a spouse who will be going through the same consulate and (s)he has just received their approval. There is a couple on this board (the_dip_sticks - spouse is from England) who had their NOA1 in June 2006 and are still stuck waiting for this type of check. So the country is irrelevant for additional checks :( It is just horrible that anyone has to get stuck in this loop through no fault of their own :(

Thanks hun, was just sorta wondering but I guess it depends on whats there, but what got me from the post was that he had gone through a security check since he works for the Government and those checks are pretty detailed. My bad and I basically just look at this whole thing now and am taking your advice, come here chat with people that are feeling the same emtions as us and wait........tough for someone that lives life with a carpedeim attitude but guess better change that thought and just go through each day as it is a gift. Sorry luv for trying to read too much into it. Frustration reared its ugly head but will hope for the best for all

    xxxxxxxx

  9. Hello to all, as u all can see on my timeline my I-130 is approved but my I-129 not yet..What can I do. I see that the I-130 is taking forever to be finished...I dont beleive after all this time ...I see some timelines with more then 3 months and still with NVC...they did not complete yet the case to transfer to the consulate...What can I do on this case...should I wait for the I-129??? or continue on the I-130...

You guys think they may approve by now my I-129...

I only have touchs on my I-129 ...never on my I-130...i was surprise when we got the approval only for the I-130...

And if I decide to go by I-130...I have to cancel the I-129??? oh my god...i'm been waiting forever for this...i was poreparing myself to another maximum 2 months of wating with I-129 nopt 3, 4 or maybe 6 with I-130....and my hubby was planning to came here to wait with me till the interview...now what?? now he need to stay there...wiating till they decide to send us any form to be filed and payed...oh my god ...I'm losing myself on this...I left my house since february...and I can stay anymore here...its too much for me ...

Plz God just help me to have the right decision.

What I don't understand is how you were able to send 129F without a copy of NOA 1 for 130. Based on your time like you got your NOA 1 in August, but sent out 129F in June. Right? Aren't you suppose to wait for NOA 1 (130), then make a copy of it, and send it with your 129F package? Probably what has happened is: your 130 petition was approved (that is right), however, your 129F will be never approved (because you are filing for K3 visa, and in order to do so, you MUST, provide copy of you 130 NOA 1). I might be wrong... In fact, lets hope that I am wrong... But that is what I understood from the process...

Not sure about this since our lawyer filed all paperwork at the same time in the case one gets approved before the other - shoot I think - we are married so they just sent all of the it the I129 I130/K3 so again what I have heard from the lawyers recently is that they just send all the guts at once. Please forgive me if I misunderstood but dont think so.

    Cheers

  10. They say I am under "additional security checks".. I looked it up, and it is background check based on the petitioner..

that is totally wrong.. are these "security checks" spot checks on people? Some people get it , some people don't?? Even people who applied after me got approved already (even from the same country -- China --)... "iray" congrats on your approval.. he applied after me though and didn't get any security checks..

I WORK FOR THE #%w)%#%)( GOVERNMENT ALREADY!!! What kind of security checks do you need, you FREAKING people?? I already had background checks done when I got the job.. also background (financial) checks when I apply for credit cards...   I don't have a criminal background (but I will, if you guys don't hurry it up).. who cares if I get deported?? At least I will be with my wife =0 what is good about being a US Citizen compared to the H1B/H2B Temporary workers who aren't Citizens or Permanent Residents?

ABSURD Im sorry to hear this and first I have heard about, do you think that since China is rising its star as an upcoming super power they are worried about a married couple - cant believe what is going on with this whole issue.....and I hear your frustration and dont blame ya.........I have not idea about what is good about being born an American when I cant even get america's oldest allie here in a timely fashion let alone a notice of processing, told husband going to name him Juan, he be in tomorrow illegal and we can just be happy and forgot the paperwork......oh yeah he can get a drivers license in New York ...hmmmmmm

    sad

  11. C and J: Thank you for that info! It's a bit of a relief knowing they honor the date they received the form.

SusieK: I totally understand how you feel, and I just joined this site and wished I would have discovered it months ago. When I called them about my receipt, they told me the same thing- wait 90 days from the date we received it and call us back. Frustrating!!

Hear ya hun, actually beyond frustrating for alot of us and I think this site is great, gives us hope in the wee morning hours and ya just wanna wake them up sometimes to say hey, hire more peeps but sigh

Keep in touch or email me and let me know how its going

    Cheers hun

  12. CSC received my I-129f on September 25th but still no receipt from them. I have seen many, many other people on here who sent this same form after me who received their receipt soon after. Why are they so inconsistent? Does this put me behind since I have not received my receipt and the people who have received their receipt but sent they paperwork after me, are they now ahead of me in processing time? I've been told it is now taking them about 4 months to approve the I-129f, is this going from the date they receive it or the date of the receipt?

Not sure AJS just joined this great forum to get me through this whole mess. Mine was sent to Texas on August 28th and hubbie is UK, me USA, and still waiting. To entertain my heart, I do call them once a week to see how things are and they are quite pleasant but again can not get any firm answer except wait until November 29th - about 90 days yes?

Again we filed 1 129 1 130/K3 all together so maybe soon our lawyer will have receipt from them. Thank god we have the lawyer as the Royal Mail over in the UK cant deliver mail in a timely fashion so makes up for any more negative thoughts.

Cheers and good luck to you.

btw.....what i was told by USCIS is that basically its six months from the file being received at their office and not being entered into the system. Do I believe this, I want to, but will just have to regroup my frustration and see.

Best of luck to you and again, I find this forum a great place to visit in wee morning hours when I cant sleep

  13. Prior to July it use to take 2-3 weeks. I filled mine on September 14th 2007, and USCIS received it on the 17, but I haven't received the Notice of Action (NOA1) from the USCIS. There are people who filled in August and still haven't received the NOA 1. Now, it could take upto 90 days to get NOA 1. Yes, the I-129F (K3) visa works faster than the I-130, but you would have to do a lot of paper work when you arrive in the USA. I hope it helps, keep us posted on you status.

    Hun,

Same here husband from Uk we married in Florida and he went back so lawyer filed all paperwork, I129 I130 and K3 on August 28, 2007 - now we just wait, yes it was received but USCIS says wait till end of November for reciept basically.......so long........so far away...........let me know how it goes and best to you both

    cheers

    Susie

  14. My Honey, it's terrible that there's still no word on your case :( You'd think with all the touches you've had that the correct person would have received it and approved it by now. I hope every day to see the words from you that you are approved. I have everything crossed for you and your hubby :)

CSC really need to get their act together :(

Btw, the picture in your signature is beautiful :)

Good Luck hun, as i have seen, calling can help and my hugs go out to you xxxxxxxx

  15. Thanks hun your a doll...... No i live in Florida now and all of the forums were sent to Texas but from what I am reading on the fourm pages, looks like they are going to California. Problem with the US EMBASSY in London is that he showed all his proof of strong ties, but apparently someone that day was having a bad one and he got the brunt of it. As my hubbie would say, those gits.........and no never lie on any of these issues.....

Yes this marriage is worth the heartache and such, but I guess just never thought it would be such a horrible bittersweet memorie and when all is done and said and he is finally home here in the States then I will calm down lol.....otherwise I still lobby my congressmen and senator - cant hurt.....and I set goals, not dreams, but in order for one to set goals, they need a timeframe and that just isnt happening yet......yes I know patience, patience.........and more patience......

sighing but again thanks and cheers

    xxxx

strong ties to the USA so he cant even visit me for one day on my homeland. Right he has great job there, home, grown children and obligations to clear up. How strong are those ties??

We did not want to lie and have him come back on a visa waiver and I guess we paid the price. Most lawyers told me, should have done it, but alas, we paid the price.

Unfortunately, that is the risk to be taken when you go through the embassy. Visiting the States on the VWP is not lying when in this process. You have to answer all questions thruthfully and have to prove ties to home should you be asked to. I have been there several times and answered each time that I was vising my boyfriend/fiance/husband (whichever status applied at the time). I even truthfully said that the reason for my February visit was our wedding. It is allowed as long as you have the ties to home with you, should you be asked for them.

I feel really sorry for your husband not being able to visit you :(

So question - I am thinking this application went to California to be processed , am i correct? I dont even want to ask my lawyer these questions because it seems that this forum has their act together and has a handle on time frames....sigh.........frustrated sorry all....venting

Any words of encourgment besides my husbands which are so strong, I feel like I am up against a brick wall in trying to see over it...............

Yes, if you are currently residing in California, your application was probably passed to the CSC for processing (there is always the chance of USCIS throwing a curveball and sending it to the VSC).

Unfortunately, this is a very long process, much longer than I'd ever dreamed of when Josh and I started along this journey. From sending off the forms to receiving the K3 visa will take over 10 months at it's current rate :( Just remember why you are doing this and that there is an eventual end to the journey. As long as you're patient and set your expectations low, then this journey will be much more bareable :)

Best of luck to you

  16. Sweety, I've found that the only way to stay sane in this process is to keep your hopes up but also to keep your expectations low. The recent rush of K3 approvals looks like a good sign so here's hoping that your approval is coming soon :)

Ok all, new here so please forgive if under wrong area, but my husband and I got married here in Florida June 2007 = after gathering all paperwork , lawyer filed I129 I130 and K3 at the same time and it was sent to Texas on August 28th 07. Hubbie had to go back to the UK after marriage and then applied for a six month visa to come here and sort stuff, well we know how that went, STAMP DENIED - lol - strong ties to the USA so he cant even visit me for one day on my homeland. Right he has great job there, home, grown children and obligations to clear up. How strong are those ties?? His visit at the US EMBASSY in London went for about 2 minutes and he had 30 hours to get everything together. He might as well stayed home for that interview.

We did not want to lie and have him come back on a visa waiver and I guess we paid the price. Most lawyers told me, should have done it, but alas, we paid the price.

So now when I call USCIS which is about once a week to say hi whats going on, and since the money order has not been cleared yet, they are super sweet, however, sweet is not making it any eaiser. With all the forms in, does it take this long just to get as I am reading something called "touch" which i presume to be the file is entered into the system> USCIS say give them till November 28th to do something, what I dont know......

I am hearing so many of your heartaches but I really am at a loss for words, lawyer is good, says takes time, yes I know that, but if we are trying - I am so American, born and raised in California, does not matter what state does it, why oh why, do they seem to raise the price of applications and then not hire the peeps to proccess them in a timely manner?

Super frustrated with our system when I read about illegal immigrates getting certain rights, and yet as a native of the states, I cant even see my husband. Some ask me to go there and see him, and my response is so clear.....I cant bear to say good bye again. IM helps, six hours a day, but still the hurt, the heartbreak is the same as many..... he is my only family as everyone else is gone so thats even harder.
