  1. Check with the Consulate but sounds like you have enough to self sponsor a K1.

    AoS is another issue.

    Hun,

Get appraisal now and make sure you have redemption against assets and you will be fine - You can show million dollar house on market but if you owe 1.2 million that does not work, hence the redemption from mortgage company =- your ok babes get this and your fine!!!!!!!

  2. Steviiii-

Sigh Both Kris and I sorry to hear about this horrific treatment but on the bright side luv.

Once he gets back the documents that are requested he will get the Visa back very quickly - we had the same thing that they needed an additional doc, and so the courier picked up (they are located at embassy) and the case was done in two days with kris having his visa in three.

Dont despair, there are people out here that do care very deeply about what we go through - just have him get what they want and he will be home soon - we know!

If you need any info on the courier just pm me and I will give you the information on what we did and that the the Visa was done in three days in his hands!

    xxxxxxxxxxx

  3. Cheers all-

Have been reading thru this thread and want to say just hang on - IT WILL HAPPEN - and with each approval you will put aside the issues that you had with USCIS for that step and say ok time to get this and that ready. You will never forget the wait tho and you will find comfort with people here to discuss your frustration and anger at how our government works.

Back in 2007 alot of us just got stuck in a blackhole - eight to 12 months to get the NOA2 - alot of us fought very hard for the news to be put out there about the wait, the information that is given from USCIS being incorrect, and then with every approval or RFE (whatever it was) we trudged onto the next step.

There are people still waiitng over 600 days omg - and you ask FIFO - it does not exist - dont try to discern that concept as its just a hit and miss situation. If you call USCIS and get a rep, dont take what they say for granted, for they are pretty much clueless - come here and read the threads, better than the New York Times.

So for the time being, get your ducks in a row, cause once you get that NOA2 your time and application will fly.

God Speed to all but again, not the best system in the world, but best not to try and understand it, we tried and finally just said it will happen.

    Good Luck!

  4. I'm sure if you have everything else in line, they may not ask for the W2's...if they do, it seems like you've got the right of it...

How long does it take for the tax transcripts? I may want to get a copy to send to Sarah in place of my tax returns and W2's.

Took 7 days for my transcripts. I live in Hawaii and the mails a bit slower.

Haole is about spot on there, but if in a rush, for once it is a joy to speak with the IRS and they can fax you a copy which is accceptable for support.

Just stay on line with the rep and they can fax as you bs the day away

Damien, you are just too funny lol

    Cheers

  5. Cheers,

You will find ways to cope (im's, cam, emails phones, trips) and in time, find something that makes it acceptable at the very best (only word that comes to mind nothing is acceptable about this whole mess to me) - otherwise this journey is not for the weak at heart, and when each step is behind you and you face the next you will make sure you tackle it. The one thing you have to do is set goals and not dreams!

Then remember all you talked about and set goals for when your other is finally here! Remember why you went thru this process and hopefully to each of us, we can set aside a small argument and remember the day we got an approval and how great it truly felt.

    God speed on your journey!

  6. Must be nice to be able to get a Visa to USA that easy.

Try to get a tourist visa from Philippines to USA, it is almost impossible.

During our wonderful journey (sik) because my hubbie had applied for a tourist visa and yes of course turned down, we did not chance the VWP as he may be turned back - so I just went there - again, it just depends on who you get and even when i came back from the UK after two months, to my own country, the POE officer said to me, where have you been, what did you do, and i said basically do you want the intimate details or just the basic standard answer - omg he was barking orders left and right to anyone and everyone - hhhhhhmmmm - that was Washington DC - Newark was great

lol i dont think he liked the intimate detail comment

just have back up with strong ties to return, mortgage slips, work letter whatever works and you will be ok! well unless you get that guy that is still thinking about intimate details!!!!!

  7. My fiancee has just booked his tickets to the US for christmas (we're both ecstatic!) and I'm just wondering if it will be a problem as he has previously visited 3 times this year... Once in February for 10 days, once in April for another 10 days and just recently in August for a month... He's coming for a month this December and he's worried that there will be an issue with customs!

We understand about bringing all ties to your home country and he has a letter from his employer available after discussing it with him as well as some bank statements and vehicle documents. Hoping to get some advice from people in a similar situation!

    Hi Sam

The evidence demonstrating his return to the UK is sufficient enough but not sure they would be interested in even looking at it, but that's just my experience! I was prodded apart and grilled to the bone recently at a POE and I only went twice this year! I was also grilled about 3 times last year too. Just be ready to face the music should he be sent to passport control but he'll be fine! Donna Marie might have alot of advice to offer you as she's been about 15 times over the past two years and got a worse time than I did....

The best of luck and have a wonderful Christmas together :D

Yes depends on the POE officer, bring what you can and good luck - but yes Donna Marie is the residential pro on this stuff lol

  8. I know this is probably posted somewhere but please bear with me... I am panicing. I am just under two weeks shy of my interview and Nathan's tax returns are nowhere to be seen in the post from 2 weeks ago. He will order them but how long does it take for the returns to get to him?? Can't believe this is happening I'm going to cry.

    No Probem!

He can call IRS 800-829-1040 and get tax transcripts fax to him and then scan or fax them to you.

Tax transcripts are prefered over tax returns.

Thank you!!! What's the difference between transcripts and returns?.. Our lawyer is telling us to get returns.. thanks again.

Hun, sod the lawyer, ya just need the transcripts and Nathan can just call the IRS and they can fax them over to him-

    STUPID LAWYER!

  9. I'm with Karen. There is no way the embassy will know it was written after the notarization.

See, I was thinking the same thing as you and Karin, but the thing is that my handwriting (albeit in block capitals) will still be noticeably different from the co-sponsor's, thus showing that the form was completed by two different people - you with me?

And Susie, 'er indoors could procrastinate for America, so there's no chance of getting another one over in time!!

Ah, I assumed that it had been done on the computer!

Sigh sort of a dilemnia, the worst that can happen is that they catch it and ask for another one - when Kris had his interview I had to sign one line on an I-864a and resubmit via over night mail back to Kris and then he had SMS Courier pick up - ekkk 54 usd to send back to the UK - but then embassy had within two days and and then everything was very quick like what a three day turn around-

Maybe someone else has solid advice altho Karin/ Otto has the key pretty well in the door!

    Cheers

  10. Oh this freaks me out! Gary has the inteview on Oct 21. I am the USC, and I am not working but will be doing so as soon as he gets here and can take over kid duty. I have some money (house equity and child support income) but I just miss the threshold. But my parents are sponsoring. However, they're retired. They do have income from investments and they included the appraisal for their farm (far surpassing the threshold). Plus, Gary has assets in the form of a house that's on the market in the UK. In short, we meet the guidelines spelled out in the I-864, but how much importance are they going to put on the fact I don't have a job????

You said you provided evidence of her father's assets, but that was not enough??? I thought the co-sponsor's assets counted?? Now I'm freaked out. Great.

    Ginger,

Just make sure that appraisal is done on both homes, and even tho its on the market in the UK its still assets - make sure he has mortgage redemption statement also, just so that it shows equity and not a red line saying ohhhhhhhhhhhh goddddddddd my house is upside down! You should be fine luv - again an appraisal is great, but what is more important is what is owed if anything!

    God Speed on that interview.!!!!!
