Mary184 got a reaction from David San in Montreal embassy EB-2 interview wait time
Nothing to be honest. They ask normal questions like what do you do and all that. Nothing specific, our interview was very short … no prep is needed, there is a high chance if someone is from some countries they’ll be hit as far as I’ve heard. Hope that doesn’t happen to you but if it does the timeline is not clear unfortunately. They told us a few weeks but it’s been a few months now and many people on other forum had similar experience. I’d say don’t worry much and answer questions they ask with your best knowledge. I don’t think anything I answered triggered the form, it’s most likely where I was born as people say, so they need to do their background check and make sure my history was clean before issuing the Visa. I believe this is something typical.

Hi, no. It’s probably the country of birth that has triggered this, I’m not sure

To be honest I’m not too sure. I’m on another thread that several people with completely Canadian background (also mom and dad being Canadian) have received it too. People say travelling in the past, background, similarity in name to people with criminal issues in the past … can all cause the issuance of this form. I’m from Iran too and got hit by this form. But I can’t say whether it was due to the country or what. I’m a long term Canadian citizen, and have travelled to US several times in the past with clean history and background …

I think so too … hope this gets resolved soon and we finally settle after such long time and money we have invested in this process

Thank you and congrats. It’s definitely not a good place to be in ds5535 situation. I will look up the sources you mentioned to learn more. Thx again 😊

Hi, could you still get another visa like TN as you said if your Other Visa is still in AP? Would this not put your TN visa application under the same AP process? Congrats on your offers and best of luck. Thank you

Thank you. I really believe a big part is just bad luck … we haven’t even travelled back for many years … people I mention I know have even travelled to countries of concern and yet everything has gone so smooth and hassle free.
