Guys, when someone is cleared, do they get an email or notification that they are cleared? Or asking for passport is how you know you are cleared from AP?

Thanks. That’s why I’m confused as well. It’s about a month and half we have done second medical and still not being asked to send passport! Not a good situation to be in at all! I got another job offer thinking I’m getting visa soon and can’t afford losing it 😐

Hi everyone, has anyone here been sent to do the second medical without being asked to send passport? It’s been about 1.5 since doing medical and no request to send passports! Follow up didn’t add much info either, case still pending. What could be the reason? I thought when one is sent for second medical, this means almost cleared?! Really appreciate sharing your experience or insight! This is a confusing and stressful situation as we can’t plan anything. Thanks in advance

Hello everyone, for those of you who were invited for the second medical, what did you do if your medical file was not opened? Did you keep emailing the consulate to open it? Doctor office says they can just do tests and upload results or email them … but is this a concern and can it cause the results getting lost?

No problem, yes they give the form and you just fill it your and send it back. Timing is not certain, some get cleared in a couple of months and for some it could be longer. I know people that have been waiting for several months on other threads …

Nothing to be honest. They ask normal questions like what do you do and all that. Nothing specific, our interview was very short … no prep is needed, there is a high chance if someone is from some countries they’ll be hit as far as I’ve heard. Hope that doesn’t happen to you but if it does the timeline is not clear unfortunately. They told us a few weeks but it’s been a few months now and many people on other forum had similar experience. I’d say don’t worry much and answer questions they ask with your best knowledge. I don’t think anything I answered triggered the form, it’s most likely where I was born as people say, so they need to do their background check and make sure my history was clean before issuing the Visa. I believe this is something typical.

Interview was May this year and I think DQ was back in fall 2019, it’s been a long time … I guess due to Covid as far as I know the consulate was not setting interviews. I was specifically asking if anyone here was under NIW-EB2 category in this group? I see a few names in spreadsheet who were NIW, not sure if the see this message. I was wondering if any of them was issues ds5535 too.

To be honest I’m not too sure. I’m on another thread that several people with completely Canadian background (also mom and dad being Canadian) have received it too. People say travelling in the past, background, similarity in name to people with criminal issues in the past … can all cause the issuance of this form. I’m from Iran too and got hit by this form. But I can’t say whether it was due to the country or what. I’m a long term Canadian citizen, and have travelled to US several times in the past with clean history and background …

Thanks a lot. Yes and I recently did interview too. But unfortunately I was hit by ds5535 (AP) which totally sucks after such a long time wait … It seems from the spreadsheet that from the people who did interview in this group, they were all approved thankfully and no one went to AP? I haven’t read the whole thread yet, planning to do so soon.

I did have a consult and they never mentioned this. They just asked a few questions and told me your case should have not gone to AP and is a good case to proceed for WOM. Maybe you can suggest who specially discussed all these with you on the consult call and I’ll try to see if they can assign the same one to me for better understanding. I know they don’t all discuss the exact same things, and not having WOM experience, I didn’t ask all these as I didn’t know about them all.

Hi guys, I have a question and wasn’t sure where I can get an answer. Is there any cons for doing WOM (besides the financial pressure)? Could this cause any issue or bad record, for example could it be something negative that can impact citizenship …? I haven’t done a whole bunch of research yet, but curious if you guys know and can help. Thanks in advance.

Is there a link or thread or something you could share to learn more? Ds5355 already takes time to process so if a child is added later, how long that takes? And if parents visa is expired until child is processed, what would be the situation? I am just asking for learning, so would be nice to learn about people going through this

Was you baby born after you and your husband were put in AP? Or did you have him already when you and your husband received the ds5535?
