Hi all, just submitted our NVC documents a few days ago so are officially on to the next step! We have not received DQ yet, though of course it has only been 2 days!

I've read about medical appointments being tough to schedule, should we be looking at completing that ASAP or wait until we receive our interview date? Also, is there an estimated timeline for when people typically hear back from Montreal regarding Interviews after submitting NVC docs? All the best to everyone!

Hi, I believe you cannot schedule your medicals unless you receive the interview letter. The doctors office will specifically ask for it. Currently Montreal is scheduling interviews 1.5 to 2 months after you are DQed by NVC.

Hi all, after 2.5 years, at last I received my interview letter for June 1!

I wanted to ask the following for feedback:

    •    Is it possible to have someone else pick up my passport on my behalf at the courier pick-up location? Looking at the wording on the courier registration website it seems like the case, but wanted to see if anyone has done this before?

    •    The reason for having someone else pick up my passport is that I am flying out of the country on June 11 (to a country where I am a dual citizen for, so I do not need my Canadian passport to leave Canada). I had a quick look at the visa-in-hand dates after interview and it seems a little all over the place. In the event that I am not able to get my passport by June 11, I thought I could ask a friend to pick it up for me and courier it to me overseas so that I can travel back to Canada.

    •    Any other ideas, recommendations or advice would be much appreciated! Fingers crossed!

This is what I got after my visa was approved. It should answer some of your questions.

I have read the FAQ. It was just exactly the same as what I posted above. What I wanted to know what this really means. Am I really under AP? Or is it just a step prior to final processing.

It is just a step before they mail you the passport. It shows the same for me.

  4. Visa approved. Thank you everyone in this community for the support.

    PD: Nov 17th 2020

    DQ: June 2nd 2021

    Interview Letter : April 12th 2022

    Interview: May 4th 2022 at 7.45 AM

I had uploaded Relationship Photos, 2021 Tax return & W2, Travel proofs, Joint Financial assets records, Chat & call records to the CEAC portal before the interview.

I was let in at around 8.15 AM. There was a small locker to store your mobile phone. After the security check I went to the first floor Counter no. 6 where they checked my name against a list and gave me two tokens. Then I waited for around 15mins. I was called to Counter 10 where I was asked for Original birth certificate, Marriage certificate, PCC and Passport Size photo. :Later she asked for 2021 tax returns but when she noticed I had already uploaded them, she returned it. She also took my fingerprints and asked my current status in Canada. I moved my case from Mumbai to Montreal so I guess that's why she asked for proof of current residence. Luckily I had a copy of my SIN which had the address in it. I didn't have any other ID with address on it. She asked my phone number which I couldn't remember because I had recently taken new one. She was kinda pissed about it. Again luckily I had a print out of my resume which had my phone number on it. Then a long wait of 45 mins after which I was called to counter no.2. The officer was really friendly. He started off with oath and took my finger prints in lieu of signature to the oath. He asked me the below questions.

    1) Who is your petitioner?

    2) How, when and where did you guys first meet?

    3) What does she do for work?

    4) Where does she live?

    5) How many times did you meet after marriage? and where did you meet?

    6) Which all countries did I travel in the past 5 yrs?

    7) What was my longest stay in US? (I had been there on student visa). Have you ever been to the US after that?

8 Which university did I go to? which program?

    9) what do you do for work?

    10) Did you get a chance to read the white pamphlet( on domestic violence) . Do you have any questions about it?

    11) Is this your first marriage? Is this your wife's first marriage?

    12) Were you ever refused at the border?

    13) Do you have any criminal record?

Then he took a detailed look at my birth and marriage certificate, returned it and finally he said everything looks good and is going to recommend my case for approval.

Great thanks! And do you get notified when the consulate receives them? And do you basically know that everything in the medical is cleared once you leave the Dr.'s office? Or is there a chance that something gets caught at the consulate after the Dr. sends the results there?

Consulate doesn’t acknowledge the receipt of medicals but the doctor’s office sent an email confirmation that they have submitted the medicals electronically. You won’t know everything is cleared when you leave the doctor’s office because xray and blood test results are pending. But I guess its cleared once they submit the medicals to the consulate and no further tests are required.

Got the IL this morning. Interview set for June 1. Will update timeline accordingly. Does anyone recommend Dr. Mascarenhas in Toronto over Dr. Zatzman in Vaughan (or other way)? Anyone recently had there medical done and knows how quick the turnaround time is at either?

Congratulations..I had my medicals at Dr.Mascarenhas on April 18th. It was pretty smooth. The results were electronically submitted to the consulate in a week. Would definitely recommend

Does anyone else's DS260 have an expiry date of April 30th 2022? I've seen some lawyers online mentioning that you have to re sign and bring new confirmation page to interview? Does anyone know anything about this???

ds260 never expires.. only the version of ds260 keeps swapping... the expiry date mentioned in the form indicates validity date of the version that has been filled up... since it's mentioned expiry date some of us believe filled ds260 has expired , but it's not

  8. Even I have been skipped multiple times unfortunately. I have tried to expedite, talked to nvc, talked to a Level 2 NVC officer, submitted NVC inquiry form, emailed Montreal consulate, reached out to the congressman no luck with anything. This is an issue with NVC which they are refusing to acknowledge. I have been following the India group and there are applicants skipped there as well since 3 months.

  9. Hi everyone. I am new here. My DQ is 06/02/2021. I moved my case from India to Canada end of Dec'21. My case was skipped when they sent out interview letters this time. We reached out to the state senator, NVC, Montreal Consulate-no positive response yet. Hoping Montreal would send out another bunch of ILs this month but looks unlikely. Good luck to everyone going through the process.
