  1. Hello family I came here seeking any kind of advice I’ve been waiting for 824 to transfer my vawa approval to the NVC for a long time with no update, already exceeded the processing time. I’m stuck with this form not knowing what is going on and why it’s taking so long to just transfer the approval to the NVC. the attorney doesn’t wanna contact uscis and keeps saying we just have to wait. I’ve tried expediting few times and it got denied. I’ve tried contacting the congressperson and the senator and didn’t work. The attorney refused to contact the ombudsman office and she said I have to find another attorney if I wanna take that route. what can I do? I’m beyond depressed at this point I’ve been waiting over a year to get this approval moving but nothing worked out. What do you guys think I should do? are they taking a long time because my case is based on vawa? p.s I need the attorney to receive documents from uscis for me, I can’t fire her because I have no one to receive the documents from uscis for me in the States.
  2. What happens when someone requests for an asylum while 485 based on vawa is still pending? if circumstances changed for someone and they have to apply for asylum for their safety?
  3. I’ve contacted them on it 7 months ago and they haven’t responded
  4. How long is 485 currently taking for vawa petitioners to be approved? (Just an estimate)
  5. If you have a telegram, join the NVC consular processing group.
  6. Hey Sumar, have you received your welcome letter? and did they tell you to mail in your documents physically to the NVC address? some people are telling me that the NVC is no longer accepting mail in documents starting January 2022 and we have to submit documents online.. can you please let me know how yours go and what do they tell you in regards to submitting your documents to the NVC. thank you 🙏
  7. You’re absolutely right 🙏 Thank you for the info and the motivation fam
  8. thank you for the response 🙏 Yeah I just wanna know if my case stayed in Vermont or it’s in the NBC since I never filed 485. Yeah the 6 month processing for 824 in Vermont is nonexistent. The processing time for 824 in Vermont is now 16 months. My 824 has been pending for almost 9 months now. Vermont responded to my congressman yesterday saying that my 824 is still awaiting to be assigned to an officer and it takes more than a year in average. 9 months and the request has not been assigned to an officer. Even tho it takes 2 months to be approved in California. im not worried about the scheduling of the appointment in the US embassy in the home country because they are fast where I live and most of the people I asked got the Interview letter within one month of being documentarly qualified and the immigrant visa were approved within a month. even if it takes more, it’s a less painful experience than just waiting for Vermont to transfer a simple approval to the NVC. My biggest issue is being stuck for 16 months waiting for Vermont to transfer my approval to the NVC because 824 takes so long in Vermont, unlike CSC and the NBC. I’d rather wait 16 months at the NVC stage working on new steps than waiting this long for Vermont to just transfer my approved petition to the NVC. I can’t do anything about it now, but I just wanted to know if Vermont still has my file or it went somewhere else like National Records Center as other people were telling me.
  9. I know that, but the question that I’m trying to understand is, does my case stays in Vermont till I file 485 for AOS or 824 for consular processing, or does Vermont automatically transfer it to the NBC right upon approving it since I mentioned on the i360 petition that I want to file 485? do they keep/retain the approved 360 in Vermont service center location until the petitioner files the form 485 then they take the action of shipping it to the NBC, or does Vermont ships it to the NBC regardless of submitting the 485 or not? Since the 360 application stated that I will file 485 in the future What I’m trying to understand is does Vermont office keep the approved petition UNTIL the next form is submitted or they send the approved petition to the NBC right away without waiting for 485 to be submitted?
  10. When I first submitted the application form for the 360 petition, I choose that I want to do Adjustment of status by filing 485 in the United States, but I didn’t end up filing 485, I changed my adjustment of status to consular processing through immigration visa. So I didn’t file 485, do they still send my approval to the NBC then the local office even if they didn’t receive the 485 form, or do Vermont keep the approval until 485 is filed then they send it to the NBC? I just want to understand where my case is at now
  11. Even for vawa? Someone previously said that all cases for vawa stay and get processed in Vermont, it never goes to a local office. so since I’ve requested to do AOS by filing 485, they automatically send my approved petition to the NBC then to my local office? Or they ship it to the NBC then the local office AFTER filing the 485 form? because I requested for AOS 485 on my vawa petition application, but I didnt submit form 485 after vawa approval, so I wanna know where my papers would be now, do they wait till 485 is filed to ship the approval the NBC then the local office, or do they ship it to the NBC right away after approval even before filing 485? thank you for responding 🙏
  12. Where does the approved i360 go after approval when we choose to take AOS 485 route on the application of the petition when first submitted? Does it stay in Vermont till we file 485 or get retained somewhere else? or does it go to the National benefit center ? Or national records center?
  13. Is there any explanation why i360 would be sent to the department of state for consular processing before getting a decision? Like it was updated to “sent to the department of State” before any update of a decision like approved or denied in what case does this usually happen?
  14. Mine was submitted January 2020 and got approved April 2022. You will get a decision soon
  15. Hello everyone I have a Q so my 360 petition’s receipt notice and the 360 approval both have the info “Vermont service center US citizenship and immigration SVC” but my 824 receipt notice has “Department of Homeland security - Vermont service center” why does my 824 say department of homeland security as the address? Does this mean my 824 is currently at the department of homeland security? I just want to make sense of this confusing process and what office actually has my form because the documents I received from them have different titles and addresses
  16. I feel so down and depressed, I’ve waited so long for my 360 approval 2+ years and now stuck with the 824 for 8 months with no update. Processing time increased from 6 to 16 months since I first submitted. I’ve tried everything, expediting, contacting senator, contacting congressperson. I’m struggling to cope with this wait and I don’t know what to do anymore. i don’t understand why it’s taking forever to move this i824 and forward my approval to the NVC 💔
  17. I’m glad you got approved sis and you will see your children soon ❤️🙏
  18. Wow that’s so fast! So lucky I submitted i824 on April 2022 for them to transfer my approval to the NVC and im still waiting. They told my congressperson that I have to wait the processing time, which is now 16 months. I don’t understand and devastated by this long delay thank you for responding dear.
  19. How long did they take to approve your 824? When did you submit the 824? When was your 824 approved? And how long have you been waiting for the welcome letter from the NVC? I have been waiting for so long
  20. Hi fam, Anyone submitted I-824 at Vermont in 2022? I’ve been waiting for so long, no updates. When they do the background security check, how long does that usually take?
  21. Do you guys know anyone who filed I-824 in 2021 and got a decision? One person told me that she has been waiting since May 2021 at VSC I know there’s a group on Facebook for 824 Vermont but unfortunately I couldn’t check it out because I don’t have a Facebook account. if you guys know anyone who field 824 in 2021 and got approved so I’ll at least have an idea of how long I should be waiting not knowing how long this might take 😖
  22. I was just told by other members that they require the original approval notice in the interview. you can try to expedite because of the interview appointment, it might get approved. I see many requesting an expedite for work and health reasons and their 824 got approved. You can try to submit the expedite with evidence of your up coming interview information
  23. What date did you file the 824? im waiting as well. You can use your interview date to expedite because 824 takes so long and I think you will need the original approval notice
