  4. Is a DS-157 required for Manila for a K-1 interview? For some reason, I think I remember seeing that it isn't required even though it is listed in the Packet 4 documents on the Manlia Embassy website.

for K1 u needed to pay visa payment of 131 bucks form being use is DS 157 2 copies for that , then DS 156 and DS 156 K

note : assigned bank will give u blank DS 157 and deposit slip after payment of visa application . now , i suggest do not write anything @ DS 157 that bank gave u but try to download from manila.usembassy.gov DS 157 fill up what is needed and print 2 copies then attached them to DS 157 that the bank gave u.

    goodluck

  5. I was wondering if anyone can share there recent experience with picking up a visa in person after there interview at Manila US embassy. I will be going to see my wife soon and am hoping that we will be able to pick up our visa after our interview. I was just wondering how long it takes to pick it up in person, of course if no problems are found.

    Thanks :innocent:

as far as i know picking up of visa is not allowed lately they assigned delbros for that.

if your wife got pink slip and no AR after interview and she lives in manila area she will received visa 3 to 4 days but living if she is living in province allow 7 to 10days for the visa delivery....... goodluck in her interview and i hope she is able to receive her visa in few days :)

  6. 1) I was trying to figure out why SHAPE needed to make a list of times, hence me asking the question. All she needed to tell me was "because I wanted to", and that would have sufficed for me. There was no need for insults. It was an honest, curious question -- I wasn't upset, or offended, or trying to dictate what one group should or shouldn't talk about. Quite the opposite actually, I was genuinely curious about why making this list was important.

    2) I have been on VJ for 4 years, and have done a lot of reading and research on ALL the different visas and the process. I know quite a bit about it, there was no need to be rude to me in stating that since I did my K-1 so long ago, I have no idea what is going on now. Not true. I also make a point of reading other country's forums so that I can have an understanding of what other fellow VJ'ers go through, so I can have a global perspective. So if that is intruding or whatever, my apologies.

    3) The reason why I said what I did is that a lot of people -- especially people who are new -- don't understand why the wait is as long or short as it is, and when they start comparing timelines or wait times without understanding the process, they start to freak out. They don't realize that some service centres take longer than others, or that spousal visas take longer than fiance visas due to different processing and as a result stress themselves out for no reason when they look at a list of different visas together. I didn't want that to happen to you all, or to anyone new reading this thread for that matter.

    4) If you only wanted people from your forum or nationality to respond to the question, you should have said so from the beginning! This is a public forum, and anyone can read and respond when and where they want, and a lot of people don't pay attention to what forum a thread is posted in, they see the topic, they read, and they respond. I am one of those people. You can't be upset when others want to participate or comment in a public forum.

I am sorry you think I was not being nice by asking my question, it was not my intent. And with that being said, I am done. Hope you all have a nice day. :)

if u were curious be it :) but you sounded meany  ok :ot2: and iggy people that doesn't deserved attention

  7. Hi,

We are currently preparing to submit our AOS package and while gathering the documentation needed, I noticed that my father's name in our marriage certificate was misspelled, instead of "E" I mistakenly wrote "I" in our marriage license application which carried out on our marriage certificate. Everything in my documents I have in the K1 visa applications have the correct spelling of my father's name. I don't know if I have something to worry about with my marriage certificate having my father's name misspelled (my fault) or just go on with the application anyway. All replies and thoughts will be highly appreciated.

i guess its not a problem since ur the one applying for AOS not ur father.

  10. hi..im just curious how will USEM send my docs to NSO for DV if il pay DV fee a month before my interview? or should i just wait until my interview date and pay DV? i believe that it will be the right time for me to submit my docs to USEM so that they will forward it to NSO?....im confused...any advices???tnx

Aight, aight, I might get creamed again for this but what the heck. :-)

You can pay Delbros ahead of time but in my opinion, you should not pay Delbros WAY TOO MUCH ahead of time. For example, if you pay Delbros too much ahead when your papers are not even in the embassy yet, whats the point. Delbros cant do anything with it, and worst they might get confused. The US embassy is not even aware of your case at this point why should Delbros?

I think people should wait until their papers get transferred from NVC to the US Embassy in Manila. Once its in the US Embassy in Manila, thats when I think is the right time to pay Delbros.

    Just my .02

    right noel and tin ;)

u have to pay DV in advance so that DELBROS will forward your NSO for further checking. u can call delbros @ 9am to verify if they forwarded ur documents , # is 3392761 loc 104 look for robbie.

note : u call USEM and look for grace or lorraine after robbie confirmed they forwarded your documents for verifications but USEM will just tell you that it is submitted for verification and other that they cannot say anything it is against immigration law and wait until u get done with your interview @ USEM.

i hope that will help u. goodluck

  14. Hello my fellow FILIPINOS and their loved ones, and to all nice people of VJ,

My visa was out for delivery last June 4, 2008, and today my visa arrived and is in my possession now. :P

    Thank you guys.

My husband is extremely happy of this good news. :P

    Shape

congratulations    welcome to america :star:

  15. I'm trying to understand the point of this. I mean, visa processing has its ebbs and flows -- comparing when I went through K-1 three years ago to when IMBRA went through, or the fee increase last summer, well, it's apples and oranges really. And there's no point in comparing fiance to spousal visas, since their times are different for a reason. So why start a thread like this?

If u were filing K1 3 years ago no wonder u really don't understand K1 and spousal visa processing  it takes long to process fruits when its not systematic....,I can plant oranges @ USCIS but i am wondering when my documents reaches @ NVC it was apples

if were thinking there's no point of this thread stay out of here

  16. mostly for K1 told me that during POE after further interview officer will give I-94.... now my question does K3 will need this too before leaving our POE? thank u

Actually, flight attendants will hand in forms while you're in the plane enroute to your POE. You will fill them out accordingly and then will present it to an immigration officer upon entry. He/she will tear the Departure form (I-94) and will keep half of it along with your records while the other half (the small one) will be attached to your passport. Make sure to keep it safe because you'll need a copy of it for your AOS. If you'll lose it, I believe there's a fee to request for a copy from USCIS.

Good luck and have a safe trip. Welcome to America!!!

    --Mae

thank you so much for the clarification regarding I-94 :star: God Bless us all ;)

  17. Is CFO-NAIA Desk Office open 24/7 & holidays? :help:

PRISM , SMEF-COW Manila and SMEF-COW Cebu are CFO authorized center to conduct seminar. Now if u went there with visa on hand u can have your sticker after paying registration @ CFO office but if u had ur seminar in advance without ur visa then u have to go back to have CFO sticker attach in your passport/visa as per requirement during departure of filipino overseas.
