Thank you! Unfortunately I can't do the processing in Edmonton since I am flying domestically to Toronto, then on to the U.S. You are required to activate the immigrant visa at your port of entry to the United States. I am going to give myself 2.5 hours at Pearson and hope for the best!

I didn't get any updates that it had arrived in Edmonton or out for delivery. It changed to in transit, and arrived the next day. I bet you'll receive it by tomorrow.

Super Thks and wish you an easy crossing! Don't forget to pay for the immigrant Visa Fee before you cross here is the link if you need it. https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-fees/uscis-immigrant-fee There's always another fee.... hahahaha!

Has anyone activated their visa at Pearson and can give me a sense of how long it should take? I'll have a layover from Edmonton to Washington D.C. and cross into the US at Pearson. That connection is tight at the best of times, so wondering if anyone has an idea how long the secondary inspection typically takes there.

Actually if you are leaving from Edmonton (since you live there I am assuming that is the case) you should be able to do it all at the Edm Intl Airport. I think if your final destination is the US they clear you at the point of origin. If so CBP has a permanent installation there just after you pass through security that you most likely will have to go through. I think you can do it all right there. I think you should give at least 1 - 1.5 hrs for CBP to process and add your normal 2 hrs for security just to be on the safe side.  Hope that helps.

On another note I am seeing my passport tracking saying it is in  transit, but the details say Montreal sorting facility. I called Purolator and they told me that on the wknds they don't update the tracking info (strange if you ask me). In any case did your details show anything different like when it arrived at the EDM sorting facility or was on the truck out for delivery before you got it? Thks.

I am in Edmonton but did the courier to a house option.

Congrats! My interview was also on the 4th. I also chose home delivery, I am in Surrey, BC. Purolator tracking is saying its at the Montreal Sort Facility and due to be delivered on Tuesday. Did you see your tracking info update from Montreal before you received it? Thks.

Hi Guys, Just wanted to give a new update. So signed into CEAC to check our status and look what changed....So This is what it looks like when they are about to send your visa... As noted above our interview was on Oct 4th and officer said it could take 4 weeks, however as you can see it has taken only 3 days! So the consulate is working at an amazing speed now which should encourage us all! Thoughts and prayers to all those still waiting!

Husband had interview today and was told it was approved. They gave him form that explained how to track passport and visa. I have 2 questions if anyone can help:  1. Officer said it can take 4 weeks to receive visa, however others here have reported receiving it within a week. Does anyone else have experience with this? Also how long does it take to see your status changed to approved on CEAC? Thks and congrats to all who were approved today!

Is anyone having trouble with registering their Visa Appointment? I have put in all the info, however it is coming up saying that my case no. is not ready for an appointment. However I received the IL today.

Ok just a follow up. I called NVC who had me call the Consulate. They advised that often the system is delayed in updating the Case Numbers for appointments. They advised to just keep trying over the next few business days and it will post. Thought I would post this in case anyone else faces this issue.

  8. Just a bit more info:

I have been living in Canada for the past 14yrs. I also became a Canadian Cit.  I sponsored my spouse and we were DQ'd on Dec 4th. I am re-domiciling in the US. I have uploaded a lease as well as the last 3 months of utilities and car/home insurance for US residence. I also have a new US employer since April that is allowing me to work remotely until my spouse receives their visa. I am paid by direct deposit into my US bank account. I uploaded my letter of offer/acceptance and paystubs as well as the corresponding bank deposits stmts of my payroll. I also have moved the majority of our household possessions and furniture to US residence. I uploaded the moving costs etc. And I imported one of our vehicles to the US and uploaded the new registration. Is this enough to prove re-domicile? And is it ok if I am staying with my spouse in Canada while he waits to be approved for his visa? Just wanting to avoid any AP delays etc.

  9. Hi Guys,

Just signed up... Trying to get an answer to this question. I am a Us Cit (with dual CAN Cit). I sponsored my husband and we were DQ on Dec 4, 2020. Since being DQ'd our financial circumstances have significantly changed. In fact almost all the info is different than what I submitted on the I-184. The questions I have are: 1. Do I need to upload the new I-184 to NVC? 2. If so will that bump our DQ date? 3. If not will NVC just pass the old info onto Montreal and will Montreal accept our new info? I am soo confused about what t o do any help would be greatly appreciated!
