It’s around the same as before. I’ll post the graph when I’m home.

Sure, Write to NVC to request them to move it, if your case is still at NVC. Check CEAC status.

I want to share that we were able to transfer our IV case to another consulate given that we no longer reside in Canada. Happy to share back when we receive IL. I will remove my name from the tracking sheet.

As of December 9, 2022, most Immediate Relative and fiancé(e) visa cases being scheduled for interview in Montreal were documentarily complete at the National Visa Center in September 2022; most Family Preference cases with visa numbers available that are being scheduled for interview were documentarily qualified in July 2022; and most Employment cases scheduled for interview were documentarily complete in October 2020.

6-months seems like a large jump being that we are at different ends of Feb maybe I just squeezed into this round?
Our cases our very similar. EB3 Follow to Join, both me and my spouse are Canadian.
It hasn’t seemed like COA has played a role in the past, but who really knows with MTL.

    January 31st
Fingers crossed you’ll hear something soon, I’d hate it if we got an interview before folks who’ve been DQ’d longer!
  9. Thanks

Wow! I'm over the moon tonight (tears in the eyes type excitement here). After 22 months of waiting, we got our interview letter just a few minutes ago!
There had been a couple of slow months there, but this must mean they just cleared a whole bunch of backlog (almost 6 months).

I hope this means everyone else who has been waiting patiently will be getting some good news soon!

This is actually not true. An approved I-140 in itself is not grounds for denial of TN. If you apply for Consular Processing, it shows that your intentions are to adhere to the non-immigrant intent of TN, since you will actually physically be leaving the country prior to applying/receiving your green card. At least this is what was explained to me by my lawyers.

I don't think the split will ever be equal based on past trends. The number of EB3s approved is significantly higher than EB1 + EB2 combined.

    EB1 average = 15/month
    EB2 average = 20/month
    EB3 average = 70/month

    According to https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Immigrant-Statistics/WaitingList/WaitingListItem_2021vF.pdf
    Montreal had 553 pending EB1 and 559 pending EB2 as of November 1st, 2021.
Since then, Montreal only processed 122 EB1 and 183 EB2.

Even with increasing capacity to 80 cases per month for EB2, it will take a minimum of 5 months just to get to November 2021.
That's without considering they have some sort of prioritization system capturing a share of the EB visas processed.

Thanks. It was worth the shot. I think Montreal in particular seems to be infamous for rejecting expedite requests, compared to other Consulates.

I think this puts things into better perspective than the previous one since we can only assume each Consulate is always working at their optimal efficiency,

Yes, we were approved in Sept. 2018 but due to gov't policies we could not proceed to the next step of getting DQ'd and in line for the interview until end of March 2020.  And then the world shut down (and embassies).  What should have been a 12-18 month AOS turned into a 4 year ordeal for us.   You can check out our timeline and those of others here -  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14yZKxht6igwJPXPU0EehKmmN2hx1g3EchEuB5G0yNO4/view#gid=0

As an EB1, my husband was a self petitioner so he did not need to have a job offer or NIW.

@Leeching Spouse Sorry to hear about the declined request. Just to note that expedite requests are considered by the embassy, and NVC just forwards the decision. Most expedite requests are declined, but again it is totally up to the embassy.

Hi all, just wanted to share that we had our interview on Thursday for EB1 and were approved!  After having our documents checked and finger prints scanned we were called over to speak to a consular officer who asked us about our marriage status/if we've been married before, how long was our longest stay in the US, what my husband did for a living and if our daughter was an American (she is, hence not on the application).  The whole thing took a little over an hour.

Also, for anyone who needs to reschedule their appointment - it was very difficult to get a straight answer on how to do so, so thought I'd share the steps.  Be sure to register your appointment following their directions.  Then, believe it or not, simply do not show up for the appointment and 24 hours later you will be able to send a message requesting to reschedule and giving your reason for missing the appointment.  After they reply to your request you will be able to select a new date and time on their online system.

It's been four long years and just so grateful it is over!  Thank you all for the sharing and support on this forum.  Wishing everyone swift and successful interviews!

I suppose cynically - if you were the consular general at MTL, you can say to your boss "I have cleared the entire backlog of IR and FB in less than a year", much better than moving all the catagories at the same time, having everyone pissed at you and nothing to show for.

Just FYI, what you are suggesting is considered illegal since TN requires non-immigrant intent at the time of application. Only H1B, L1, and O1 visas allow immigrant intent.
