  1. I expect most of the backlog clear around July. We will come back and see I guess.
  2. US immigration system is a joke. Unfortunately I don't think anything will change until near election time. Sorry to hear about the bad news man. I hope the other party does us justice but probably not since we are from the middle east.( we will see tho)
  3. We all have a way of tasting our own medicine somehow I guess. My wife was also in the same boat even tho I warned her about the crazy way the US system operates. Now she is slowly understanding that one of the biggest advantages the US has, is its propaganda system it has fed all people living outside of the US.
  4. I am probably going to get a lot of hate for this but the reason is pretty clear why we are all on AP. Everyone knows that this is an election year and there are certain forces behind the US government who are pulling some stuff to make changes. This is why you are seeing so many issues with the border(this has been happening for years so why focus on it now?). I guess in a year we will all comeback to this forum and realize maybe we were lucky to get AP. I hope not but time will tell for sure.
  5. What is the next step for you guys? Next month it will be 8 months in AP for us and I guess I am considering going the Mandumas route but I am just wondering if it is a waste of time and money and I should just forget about the US and move to another country with my wife.
  6. I did get an update as someone must have checked our file. But obviously it still shows refused. We wait another week or so and I will write to them again.
  7. Today was 6 months and 3 days since we went into AP. I emailed them and got the automatic reply.
  8. We went the CR route. We have been in AP for almost 5 months and hope to have some news in the next 2 months.
  9. I think it is safe to assume that all APs will take a minimum of 6 months to complete. I have seen some APs that took less than 3 months that seems to be in some extraordinary circumstances. I think it is important to not lose hope at this moment even when things look so bleak. Good Luck
  10. Just in-case anyone is wondering, we have been in AP for 4 months now. Went into AP in Ankara on May 16th and Returned DS-5535 on May 18th. Saw some updated till June 9th and that was the last update for us. US Embassy in Ankara says to not even ask for an update on your case before the 6 months are up. I guess I will wait and see what happens once our 6 months are done but as of now it is not looking good. My wife also reads a few telegram groups that are Iranians stuck in AP and the lawyers are not even optimistic about Mandamus anymore.
  11. I hope you got the answer you were looking for. We will probably do a Manduma in November or December.
  12. Niceee. Looks like the case is moving forward. Hopefully you will get your visa ASAP.
  13. Do we have any other options? The country we reside in will most likely kick us out and I certainly don't want to overstay and get banned. Perhaps I can write the embassy and explain our situation and they might expedite our case?
  14. We don't have a problem coming back to Turkey if a second interview is required. We just don't want to go another AP because she traveled to another country.
  15. My wife visa was put in AP as of May 2023. We both currently reside in Turkey but our residence permit will expire in October. As of now, it might be that they will not extend our residence visa and we will have to move to another country while we wait for AP process to complete. MY question is that, can we travel while she is in AP. Would this cause another delay for her if we go to another country. Thanks
  16. I don't want to be a debbie downer but seems like the AP process for Iranians is taking so long. My wife found a telegram channel with all Iranians who are going through AP and many have been stuck for many years now. Some have even done the Mandumas and have not even gotten a response. This is so maddening for many of us. I am thinking of really focusing my efforts and moving to another country if we don't get a response this year.
  17. Good luck to you man. I understand fully why you applied and hope you get the answer you are looking for asap. Don't listen to people who tell you that you should have waited. They had 2 years to do all this research and now you are in this blackhole where you don't know when you will get an answer.
  18. Guys we got DS-5535 green slip on Tuesday May 16th. We sent it on May 17th to the email address that was given to us. Our case has not updated and when I check the status on the website it says they have requested us to fill DS 5535 still. I have emailed them a second time and got no response again. What should I do?
  19. I have run into a bit of an issue with our medical examination and need some assistance on what to do next. My wife got her interview appointment set for May 16th at the US Consulate in Turkey, Ankara. We came to Ankara on the 10th early as the Medical Examination Office had suggested that it can take up to 2 days to get the tests done but mostly all tests would be done on the same day. My wife took her exam on the 10th and she was told that she would receive the status of her medical examination on the same day by 7 PM . Around 6 PM we called them and inquired about the medical exam. They ensured us that everything is correct but we would receive the answer the following day. Today we did not receive any answers again. We went and visited their office and they said they had the wrong phone number listed for us but everything is correct and they have already sent the medical examination records to the US Consulate. We were told that now that the phone number has been updated we will get the medical exam results by tonight Of course today we still did not get an email and we called them again. Now they claim that they have been having some computer issues and this is why they can not send our medical exam. They have ensured us that the exam results are good and have been sent to the US consulate however when we ask them for proof they refuse to give us any proof. They just say wait till the computer issue is resolved so we can finally get my wifes results. I am furious right now as our interview is coming up shortly and we have no proof that the medical exam was completed. Iam out of 500 dollars and this is the only doctor office that can do the medical examination in Turkey. I am just wondering what I should do, if my wife goes to the interview and the consulate tells us that there is no medical examination done , what are our options?
