Thank you! I will wait a bit. Ended up getting locked out of my SSA account, guess I'll try next week.

Hi @F3MTL, I’m having the same issue with my SSN. Just received it and trying to add to wife’s credit card and also create SSA account. Keep saying unable to verify and I also got locked out of SSA.

We’re you eventually able to verify or needed to visit a SSA office to sort it out?

Webber777 … I’m sorry, I guess I need to clarify. Just because someone needs an Australian police check for US immigration doesn’t necessarily mean that they actually still live in Australia. It could mean that they once lived in Australia for a year or longer. And that’s my husband’s case.

He now lives in Taiwan and so his immigration interview is there at the American Institute Taipei, a quasi consulate.

Sorry for the confusion. Your situation does not match up in this respect.  Our case’s counselor processing will not take place in Australia but in Taiwan. 😎

Ah gotcha. Well thats good news for your husband getting a interview so quickly!

There is a 9 month waiting list in Australia so no Christmas with family for us!

Hope all goes well with your interview and rest of process.

    Dear everyone,

Just letting you know that husband finally has been scheduled for his immigration visa (1R1) interview!  It’s a bit farther out from now than we’d like at 8-weeks (from end of Sept to end of Nov).  Looks like he can join me in the US in time for Christmas!!

As I wrote in this thread earlier,  the AFP reason code #33 we submitted in the second try after #35 was denied was, indeed, accepted and processing time took anout 68-70 days. We sent #33 electronic version and followed up with scan of hard copy front and back (There was some verbiage on the back.).

Blessings to you all and best wishes for speedy processing of all your applications!

    Hi JannaB,

Just wondering did you request an expedite?

I have been DQ since July 30th and waiting for an interview at Sydney consulate. I though the consulate was still only scheduling interviews for people who were DQ in February

So you submitted the digital one or the hard copy ??I got rejected twice ,,I directly submitted the digital one sent by AFP ,, even though I follow the state govt reciprocity with #33 and the AFP said I got correct one still I got rejected saying it’s invalid documents and submit it with the correct issuing authority and the report is issued by AFP ,,

I scanned the hard copy front and back and submitted that.

Thanks everyone for the responses and sharing your stories! I know some time has passed but we are in the same situation. We submitted our police check 3 times now and are certain it’s correct and it just got rejected again. First time was the wrong one (35) and then we submitted 33 and it got rejected and we submitted 33 again with a PDFed letter form the AFP and it still got rejected.
We don’t know what to do and are so sad and frustrated.

I just wrote our local senators. Did that help at all?

Also the people who said the us had a supervisor look at it - how did you get a supervisor to look at it? We can’t get in contact with the NVC and even the inquiry email takes months to get a response.

Did you upload both back and front of document? only other thing i can think of

Oh!  Honestly, that’s great news!  I did not know that that abbreviation DQ meant document qualified.  What a relief! I feel great for you and better for our own possibility of being excepted as well.  I appreciate your rapid response and correction of my misunderstanding

No problem at all. It’s been a nervous week knowing we would be reviewed soon. Happy this part is done.

wishing you and all others on this thread good luck! You have the right checks, just hopefully the person looking at your case sees that.

Oh no!  This is just so unfair!  Now you’re in the HOLD pile again and will, I suppose, need to reach out to AFP for assistance and further documentation!  Nuts!!!

What will you do and please keep

    us posted!!

I’ve reached out to my US congressman from Oregon and will ask for his help even as we wait for our own reply from NVC  (having used reason code #35 and dq’d first try and then, like you, used #33 the second try as well).  We submitted that second try on June 20, actually, and it’s now July 29 and still waiting.

No dq in this context is good! It means ‘Document Qualified’ - which is the email they send you saying that. so I’m onto the next stage!

We sent front only since back appeared not to have anything on it but explanatory notes. We just looked at the back and see a number at bottom right.  Unsure if that’s unique and important or not.

Do you know if there were explicit instructions to scan and submit both sides to NVC?

Do you happen to know more about this and can offer suggestions?  We have been told that anytime we upload new scans to NVC, we slow progress.

its hard to actually tell what the NVC actually wants!

i have seen a few posts where people have said to make sure to scan back and front for various documents though and this NVC website - https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/step-8-scan-collected-documents.html says to 'Include the front and back side of any document that has stamps, seals, or writing on the back.' but who knows if that is the actual reason for rejection. usually the rejection reason seems to be a generic one.

in terms of new uploads its a risk. some people say it puts you to back of line others say if you load under additional document it doesn't affect your position, no one really knows for sure how NVC works! We uploaded all our docs on 19th may. then uploaded some more docs in june so will see if our documents get reviewed over next 2 weeks or if the new docs pushed us back (i hope not!)

    We got DQ'ed! = June 15, 2022 at 10:09 EDT

Woke up to the email this morning (they sent the email 5 minutes after I decided to go to sleep ^^)

April 3, 2022: Submitted DS260 and I-864, civil documents, Tax Return, and statement explaining why we have no W2's 1099, Statement and Proof of Domicile, US Bank accounts showing sufficient assets.

April 11, 2022: Uploaded another Korean Police Certificate (First Korean cert had a typo).

April 17, 2022: Uploaded Proof of Employment and a statement explaining we were using assets as my husband's employment will not continue after we leave Korea~

Got an FE stating sponsor doesn't meet the minimum income requirement (as expected).

Now we wait for the interview letter!

    congratulations ROK2USA. That is awesome!!

I'm just wondering in your documents how does it look for the police certificate? did they just accept both documents or reject the first one and accept the second? I re-uploaded my birth and marriage cert (to include back page) and wonder if they will reject the original and accept the documents I re-uploaded instead (doesn't really matter either way just interested how they do it)

  10. 1 hour ago, ROK2USA said:

I uploaded them in "additional documents" and labeled them "police certificates".

I've seen others suggest you label the documents "other" and write an explanation and that won't reset you?

But, I don't think it matters. You should be fine. If we get reviewed next week- I'll write up our timeline of initial uploads and subsequent uploads. If we don't get reviewed next week I'll assume we will be reviewed according to my second police certificate submission.

Great thanks ROK2USA. So you uploaded your PCC in the ‘additional documents’ of the civil documents section (not the affidavit of support section)?

  11. Anyone submitted extra documents under the ‘Optional Documents’ in the civil documents section some time after the original submission?

I didn’t upload the back page (as its blank) of my birth certificate and marriage certificate but I have seen people getting some RFE’s for missing the back page.

I see a lot of people uploading ‘additional documents’ to the AOS section but has anyone uploaded optional documents to civil documents section and not had it change their date for review?

Hey, did you get any update on your case?

Yeh I raised a service request after 60 days but that didn’t seem to do anything. Then I went on ask Emma bout 2 weeks after that and explained everything again and finally they said a tier 2 agent would look at my case. 2 days later got a call from tier 2 saying I would just have to wait and there nothing else I could do. That was depressing.

Then the next day my case was approved so I think even though the tier 2 agent said i would have to wait that it triggered someone to look at my case.

at nvc now. Have submitted all docs so back to waiting

try to open both tabs below some times the Case status tab will not reflect the accurate case status , you need to open the Documenet Tab to see if there any doc with title I-130 Approval notice , check this and if not keep calling the USCIS and speek with tier 2 officer and let me know , also pray for god that it will be clear sooner ! , thank you .image.png.a7bb7c228f3023c4269fac1872aef734.png

Yeh I look in there every day.  And I have called and spoke to live agents on the chat  multiple times.  No one will help, they are useless. They just tell me to wait 60 days. I don’t think I can do any harm reloading documents, they are not doing anything either way, maybe it will actually trigger them to look at my case

    Hi Webber 777

As I promise ...Thank god I get my I 130 Approval today  😀 , I am so surprised that it was done so fast , USCIS upload the approval letter but not yet update the case status in the case portal , I believe it will take  2 days or so to change the status Approve , and send to NVC .

Hope that you will hear also the good news sooner , keep us updated !

That’s great news. Happy for you! Congratulations.

I won’t lie it has made me even more sad and depressed I haven’t heard anything bout my case though. I’m tempted to reload the documents again at this point. I don’t understand how they havent replied for 42 days now. Everyone else in vermont who I see upload there documents gets approved straight away. Very frustrated.

    Hi Webber ...

I got Request For Evidence (RFE) on 22 Feb 2022 , it took me 1 month + two weeks to get the information they need  from back home . they are requesting me to prove that my spouse previsions/past  divorce was final and asked for Divorce decree or death certificate or Annulment  , I response to the RFE today through the online portal  , I choose Online upload and not send by normal mail because I have had bad experience with USCIS sending documents by mail , they said they don't receive it (could you believe that 🙃 ) , well at lease through the online submission on response to RFE I can see my files are uploaded  and sitting there , and the case status  changes instantly  to " Response to RFE was RECEIVED 😊).

Very important note here if you decide to send it online , when you upload your files/docs online  :

Don't press the  Submit response button (after you upload the 1st file ) unless all your files you intend to submit are uploaded

So simple guide in case someone need that :

    1. Ensure the file size is less than 6MB.
    2. Drag your first file/doc to the dragging area .
    3. Repeat dragging the other files you need to include in your response for the RFE
    4. Ensure that the all files / docs were upload correctly and its names showed in the summary table .
    5. Review and check  .
    6. Now press Submit response .

I know that some I -130  applicants  may decide to conceal their previous marriages specially  if the divorce for those marriages happen outside U.S , but for me I decided to include every thing  just in case they may checked and asked  later during background check step for my spouse before the interview .Also it depends on the USCIS evaluation for the jurisdiction system for the applicant's country !  if they decide to dig and gather more information about any previous marriages based on just a name that can do so !!

In the notice they said to give USCIS  60 days to respond to our RFE  that we send  ,now  I am  here waiting for their decision . hopefully we will catch the queue very sooner  ,  Thank you

    image.png

I still haven’t heard anything on my response. 41 days later. I submitted online too. Very frustrated. I’m just waiting the 60 days now so I can submit a service request.
