The correct answer is: how do you know they will reply at all? I would say they reply to 1 in 3, maybe 1 in 4 emails…

I've seen this happen to a few other people and think it's common after many months have passed. I believe this problem was resolved after contacting NVC. Not sure of the details, but I would suggest you contact NVC as soon as you can and see what they say.

Just wanted to pay my solidarity to you all that have been waiting so long to be reunited with spouses/family and are left with no explanation whatsoever. I'm only at the beginning of the K1 visa and started reading this thread as I have an option to return to Canada (I have a work visa and still work for a Canadian company) and knowing that I would need to go to the Montreal consulate for the process, I decided to research topics related to it.

Reading much of this thread, I felt so much empathy for the struggles here. It's not an easy process but it seems that it's being so much harder on you all! In Canada of all places! I keep coming back to this thread every day hoping you will give us good news. I know there's nothing I can do, but I wishing a miracle happens this week!

It's hard not to obsess about it since it feels like you are trapped and can't go anywhere. My husband and I feel distraught from this process and the only way we cope with this is just not to think about it too much and keep ourselves busy.

We can only do what is requested but ultimately, the decision making is in their hands. The inefficiency of this process really gets to me though.

Exactly. It feels like life has been on a standstill for two years even when all documents are proper and other applications have given you a green light to proceed. The waiting game of of AP impacts you mentally.

All of this is so unnecessary. *Bangs head against the wall*

I wish my wife understood, but whatever. For her, she is nice and comfortably adjusted back to her old life in Miami (she has been back living there 2.5 years already!), while I am just waiting here wondering when will be the day when I can finally rejoin her and start my new life. I feel awful about it.

Your are right, exactly. Why not tell me to submit the DS-5535 BEFORE coming to Montreal? I have not a single thing to hide, and the information is all there. Canada is not a strange country with unreliable record-keeping. What I am being reviewed for?

It's is the ambiguity of it all that gets to me. Why were we selected? What was found in our initial paperwork that raised suspicion? Why couldn't they tell us before Montreal that we will be denied and to submit the DS5535? How much longer do we have to wait? What happens when our medical expire? This invisible wall has left us with so many unanswered questions and when they do answer our questions, its very vague.

I also wonder if our own government knows what is happening to us? Although the DOS has the final decision, I think as their strongest allies, surely they know the RCMP and CSIS has reliable information that is shared between them to determine our "threat" levels.

It's hard to not lose hope in this process when there is no end insight.

My wife has a different personality and a different point of view, I suppose. Perhaps it is even a superior personality, or mine is grossly inferior. All I know is that this has weighed on me a lot lately, I feel like I am just in a permanent limbo and can't do anything about it.

That kind o people just make things worse,  in this thread was someone who used to comment that I hate all his/her comments  because it’s easy when you pass your process without any issues and you are just taking about something you don’t know or something you’re not dealing with.

Correct. I cannot believe really. Then you have all these people who think they know stuff and don't, making out like I must not be doing something right or something! that infuriates me when i hear people talk s---. It just adds to the insult to all of it.

Our case has finally been updated to issued, final processing, and my wife received tracking # email today as well. Finally we are really hoping to close the book on this almost 3yr process (submitted our petition july of 2019). I am really rooting for the rest of you who are waiting, I know how awful it is... will definitely stick around to help as much as we can. Hang in there, guys.

    That's wonderful news!!
Is it in administrative processing? They send the tracking number after it changes to final processing.

Also, do you live in a different time zone than Montreal by any chance? It's strange they updated it after 5pm otherwise lol.

My wife's status finally changed to issued yesterday after 5PM. I assume they still haven't mailed it out, but hopefully she will receive a tracking number on Monday?

    Congratulations!

I hope so! They acknowledge receipt our Medical report on Jan 24th and updated the CEAC date on Feb 4th.

They did say they were "looking into" the the case on Feb. 24th. So, I hope we hear something this coming week.

If not, then we will reach out to a congresswoman for help

It was issued in AP since yesterday, and final processing today. Exactly 6 weeks after my interview, and 5 after my medical.

I feel like if you don't get an update by noon, you're not getting any for the rest of the day. Has anyone on here received an update after 12:00? I think once they are on lunch break they never return. After coffee they have a sandwich, then another coffee, then some water, then they rest from eating, talk a little, and then, "oh, well would you look at the time, another day at the office and not doing our job but getting paid for it, haha!"

Suing the Government shouldn't even be necessary if they were more humane with the process. I asked this last time, but I don't think there is another country that does this to law-abiding applicants expressing their intent to live with their loved ones abroad. It shouldn't be easy either, but making it this difficult is not right and unnecessary. We shouldn't be begging and spending money if we are approvable applicants. We shouldn't be waiting this long either. Just issue the Visa if we're clean, lol.
