    1) How long after was your case scheduled for an interview when the status changed to " Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview"?

the questions is IRRELEVANT. It depends on when you sent your packet. I got 'ready to be scheduled' 1 month after sending, it's been 4 months and still nothing. My friend sent her packet 9 months ago and she got 'ready to be scheduled last week' and now 'Interview scheduled. Bottom line: It depends when you sent your packet. There is NO way to predict.

    2) What documents did you need to take to your interview?

All the originals documents that you put on your packet + passport, ID etc.

    3) How long after your interview did you receive your green card?

Again, irrelevant question. it depends. Some 1 week, some 2 months, some 3 months, some 5 days. It depends and there is NO way to predict.

    Thank you for your guidance.

  2. Hi there,

Important question regarding the Biometrics: I just went to get my biometrics done and on top of waiting a super long time (4 hours lol) I had a problem there.

So, i have super sweaty hands and fingers and I knew beforehand that it was gonna hard to get my bio done. When the USCIS agent tried to take my fingerprints most of my finger had an orange sign on top of it (/!\ RETAKE). So he tried to do it again, he got 3 fingers right and then he was “it’s fine, they’ll figure it out.”

I insisted to have them redone because the screen was literary saying “/!\ BLURRY IMAGE, RETAKE” but he wouldn’t hear anything. he told me i’d be fine.

My concern is that they realize it’s not good enough and that they call me back for bios. did it ever happen to any of you?

    Would appreciate your help!

The only "confirmation" we got was an email that said USCIS should give us a response by July 3rd or something but that never came, so I have no idea if they've yet to update our address. I called USCIS 3x and couldn't get past the robot Emma so at this point I'm in the dark whether the address change has gone thru. Just gonna keep submitting AR-11's every month lol.

same situation lol they said i should get an answer by july 20th and nothing. i think it should come tho. it might take some time but it will eventually come

Nothing in the mail yet. For the address change we submitted a second AR-11 this time via USPS with certified mail so I can make sure it gets there. But no changes on any of the cases. Our AP & EAD cases are still just saying we received them (the bio appt we did referenced the EAD & the I485 though)

we submitted an address change in early july and still no confirmation/answer…. we did it online. Do you know how long it might take?

5-21-21 - mailed aos, ead, ap
    6-8-21 - noa1 in mail
7-8-21 - ASC for bio appt
7-14-21 - bio appt for aos and ead
7-20-21 - case on egov.uscis.gov/casestatus says: "As of July 20, 2021, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, Receipt Number ######, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address." No paper mail as of 7-27.

We did bio appt in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Side note, our cases begin with MSC but our bio appt service center says NBC. Kind of wondering where our interview will be but I'm sure the letter will be here sometime soon hopefully??

Also we did our social security office interview for her SSN on June 9. Got it maybe around June 25th? Trying to get drivers license now and waiting for SAVE Case verification before being able to begin DMV testing.

Otherwise this has been very fast compared to the K1.

We did an address change during all this they sent an e-mail confirming they received our request but no update. Any ideas how to check status of an address change? Tried calling them but couldn't get thru to an agent, the robot kept annoying me. Not sure if I should just file another one to make 100% sure it went thru. We have USPS fwd on and that worked for her ASC Bio Apt letter but I'm worried to heck that they might not forward her interview. We did email/text notifications for K1 and Greencard and have received ZERO texts and e-mails in the last year. It's useless filing those it seems.

    any news ?

Depends on the ASC.I know someone who is in CA, who submitted in September 2020, and got their bio in like November, but is still currently waiting on their Interview. Their status is Case Ready for Interview. So, it really, really depends.

Mine was a late bio, but I got my appointment 2ish months later, but that is because I have somewhat a fast ASC.

thanks for your feedback! Where is your ASC and how to you know how fast you ur ASC is ?

I had my biometrics appointment yesterday at San Fernando ASC in San Fernando, California.

My appointment was for 9 AM; I showed up at 8:40 and got in line outside. They were only allowing 30 people in the building at a time (COVID restrictions I guess) so there was quite a big line. No security checkpoint to get inside the building, though they had one employee going through the people in line checking IDs and appointment notices. Phones had to be shut off before entering the building.

Once inside there was a short line for the receptionist, who checked ID and paperwork again, and then provided a number and stamped my I-797C appointment notice. I got my number assigned at 9:08 AM. There was a DMV-style waiting area with socially-distanced seating. I waited about 15 more minutes before my number was called.

One person called before me had a backpack, which they weren't allowed to bring into the fingerprinting cubicle at all - they had to leave it at the reception desk. I had a small tote bag with me, which I was allowed to bring into the cubicle but I had to place it on the ground out of reach.

The technician took my photo and then fingerprints. Left 4 fingers at once ("slap"), then a full roll of the thumb and 4 fingers individually. Then the same on the right hand. A lot more comprehensive than the fingerprint scanners they use at ports of entry. He had some trouble with my fingerprints and had to redo a few of them, so hopefully there won't be any issues.

I was out of there by about 9:30 AM, 30 minutes after my appointment time. So a pretty smooth process overall. My case tracking for I-485 and I-765 were updated today to show that my fingerprints were taken.

great to know! Let us if you have interview notice!

Randomly decided to ask Emma agent about my biometrics, and was told it's scheduled for August 3 in Maryland. No letter in the mail yet and I can't see any PDF files on the USICS website that I could print out. The agent referred me to a Tier 2 agent that would call in 3 business days, which might be after the appointment. I'm currently in Chicago. Any advice?

fly to maryland ASAP! it might take months before you get a new APT!

Tried walking in early for my biometrics at the Tampa ASC at the end of the day an hour before closing, was turned away by security guard and told to come back on my appointment day. Oh well.

Also, finally received an email confirmation about my change of address today, but seems like they only applied it to the I-485. Took them about a month.

    3/16/2021: Packet posted via UPS

3/18/2021: (PD) I-130/I-485/I-131/I-765/I-864/I-693 packet delivered to Chicago lockbox via UPS.

4/13/2021: 4 texts received, 4 receipt numbers. Fingerprint fee received for I-485 the day before according to status checker.

7/01/2021: Submitted a change of address for all 4 forms (AR-11)

7/17/2021: Notice date for biometrics appointment, scheduled for 8/11/2021

7/28/2021: Received appointment letter at mailing old address (!!), but scheduled to the correct ASC jurisdiction (Tampa) somehow (was previously under Houston ASC jurisdiction, as I previously lived near Houston).

7/29/2021: Received email notice confirming change of address has been successfully completed.

how did you change the address? online or did you mail the form?

  10. Hi there,

So I am currently waiting for my EAD (AOS). I have my bio next week and my plan is to start looking for a job as soon as I have my bio and then ask USCIS to expedite my EAD with a job offer. but i wonder: is it legal to look for a job even if i don't have my EAD yet? (I am of course NOT looking to work without a permit but I'm trying to understand if it's possible to start searching)

Because I see a lot of people saying ''I expedited it with a job offer'', but if you have a job offer it means that you were looking for a job without having the EAD... so yeah, can i get in trouble if I do this or is to allowed?

    Thanks a lot!!

  11. Hey there,

Currently waiting for AOS (baltimore) i filed in may and did NOT expedite anything and I got my bio appointment for next week. I was wondering, do you think i might get the interview right after?      2 days after my biometrics was collected I got a mail for the deficiency notice of my I-693, 5 days after that only my I-485 case was updated to case is ready to schedule for interview. I chatted Emma to know the status of my I-765 and I-131 and the live agent told me that the latest status is biometrics was taken. On my case tracker both I-765 and I-131 still showing "case is received". I wonder how long it takes for the case status to change from "case is ready to schedule for interview" to "interview scheduled"?

can you please share your timeline? Also, where are you?
