  1. I was 15 minutes late for my flight to Manila for my medical appointment so I have rebooked my ticket for tomorrow. And just tonight I have my premenstrual period...what am I gonna do???? Why they dont allow to have our medical when we have our monthly period? Do they check us down there? How? do they examine the cervix and everything thats inside there?

    Thank you for any input.

First day of my early medical i had also 1st day of my monthly period & i done pregnancy test even if i have. Then the staff there told me that i will come back until my period is gone so i come back there after it's gone to do my 2nd day of medical. I think the reason why they want every applicant to do their medical w/ no monthly period is because of the physical examination. The doctor will examine all. Good luck :)

Right! I just got back from Manila and was entertained at St. Lukes. The only thing Im missing is the physical examination so I have to go back after my period.

When you came back from the physical examination did you get done for everything the same day? like vaccination, releasing and all that stuff....or did you came back the day after ?

    Thanks!

hi loi, a friend of mine also had exactly the same case as yours. she didnt know that they wouldnt do the physical exam if she had her period. it was her 2nd day. the SLEC staff told her to come back after her period is gone. she returned after 3 days when her period stopped. she went in the morning and was done by early evening. so all was done in one day but be prepared to wait for a very looooooong period. she brought along baon food and book to read. good luck to you!

  2. Im missing my physical examination due to my period. Im wondering how it is performed. Im getting so nervous and I will be so shy to be seen naked. I have an ovarian cyst too, will they see that? and would it be a problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

You won't be having any problem probably. I had a period on the day of my physical. They will perform other test like x-ray and others and they will let you come back after your period is done to do other tests needed. About your ovarian cyst, that I don't know. Most possibly the doctor will see it, but don't worry or rather get too nervous and shy seeing naked since you will be examine by a lady doctor. If any case you'll not, try to request for a female doctor, ok!

    Good luck! :)

another thing...just look at it this way...with all the naked bodies they examine everyday, you are just another body to them....nothing more nothing less....so look at it that way so you don't feel shy or nervous....they have to do their job....imagine yourself in their place, would you enjoy their job? yikes never! so be calm and cool....that's just a few seconds that they will check out your body...nothing personal....ok sis?

  3. Went to BPI branch near my place this morning and inquired if they accept payment of US visa fee. They do not. I therefore conclude that only selected branches of BPI/Citibank are authorized to accept the fee. I will be paying my visa fee in one of BPI branches that's found on the list from the link given above.

    -Riza

hi there! yup only selected branches accept US visa payment....in case you need more info you can try calling 89100 (BPI hotline) and dial 0 once you hear the voice, then dial 0 again and wait for the call center agent to answer your call. you can ask her for the nearest BPI branch in your area where they accept US visa payments.

  4. April 16 was my birthday and our interview. We passed! The questions were all simple like where I lived, where did we met, how long ago was my last visit, how many times I visited, how many siblings she had, when I flew in to the Philippines. Now just waiting for the Visa and we leave May 1

Wow! More happy news!! COngratulations!!! Time to celebrate!!!

  5. Well it has taken over a month to get it and tons of hassles but she finally has her visa and will be going to CFO tomorrow morning and flying to Guam at 10pm tomorrow night. At least she has a short flight to get here.

Thanks forum for all the great info and providing a place to vent frustrations about this whole process.

    Congratulations! Time to celebrate!!!

  6. she received a white piece of paper and her xray and told to take to the USEM..... she just text about a hour ago. I still don't know how I eventually fell asleep last night.. but some how I did

Thank God for his hand on Zandy!

off to the shower and to work (my ball and chain) HA

Congrats!!! One more hurdle to go! Praise God Zandy passed!

  7. What is a CENOMAR?

What does is stand for, and what does it contain?

Must be Philippine specific, I have never heard the term.

Do you get it at NSO office

hi....a cenomar is a certificate of no marriage, it is a civil record that certifies if an individual has contracted marriage in the Philippines or none at all. if one is married, the cenomar will detail the information of the marriage. if one is not married, it will say that there is no record of marriage in their records. and yes you can only get it from an NSO office.

  8. Some of my favorite Bible verses:

    Hebrews 11:1 (New Living Translation)

"Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see."

Mark 11:24 (New King James Version)

"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them."

The wife of our youth pastor has taught me before that when you pray, you have to pray as if you already hold the thing you pray for in your hands. She taught me that in order to have a powerful prayer, we should learn how to claim it. When she pray, she don't say "Lord pls give me this or give me that".. she says: "LORD, I THANK YOU FOR GRANTING ME......(whatever she is praying for).... IN ACCORDANCE TO YOUR WILL & GLORY!" ...She don't always receive every thing she prays for BUT she knows that God has answered her prayers in accordance to His will for God knows the future and what is best for us better than we do.

Right now, I am claiming and thanking God that you will have a successful interview. May God be your tongue when you go in front of the consul.

    God be with you always.(F)

    Dbears,

Thank you so much for your inspiring words even if i wasn' the recepient of this message, it brings so much hope and trust in our Lord. We will be praying for you too in your time. GOd bless!

  9. hey there people I just finished my first day of the medical and I was kinda worried i might be referred to a psyche test even if the doctor was kinda nice. Well I feel like very lost today anyways thanks for the help again.

why do you think that you will be referred for psyche test? did the doctor write it in your paper?

  10. Hello, I've been reading the postings here, I just read this posts about their SLEC Medical exam. what is that "psyche evaluation" thing they're mentioning here? Do we have to undergone this during our medical exam? Thanks for the replys guys!

Not all will have to go through psyche evaluation only those who are suspected by the doctor who had suicidal attempts..scars on your wrist will sometimes resorts to psychological evaluation ..this are just base on my readings here at the forum..

If you dont have any scar on your wrist then nothing to worry about

if you are psychologically stable.....no need to worry coz even if you undergo an evaluation, am sure you will pass

  11. wow!!! im so happyyyy to day finally i got my visa after 4 weeks and 2 days!! wow!!! im so excited to be with my honey now!!!... thanks vj's for make me comfort last few weeks... i will pray to those who are still waiting for their visa.. don't worry too much guys you will get your visa soon not now but soon... keep praying guys as i did...

  12. I am currently gathering info for all of the "fees -- where and how to." Was looking for the BPI account of USEM but to no avail. Do they have one or I will just go directly to the bank in-charge and tell them that I will pay the visa fee?

    :help:

    -Riza

yup i second the motion...i work in bpi :-)

  13. Hello there!

This is my first post here, but I have been lurking and reading on this site for a while. :D

We are very excited. We just found out that Glyn's visa interview is May 15. She is going to to St. Luke's to get her medical exam next week.

The embassy website says that she should bring her passport and a 2x2 photo of herself (http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwfk1en.pdf)

She thinks that she needs to bring everything else to St. Luke's that she would bring to the visa interview. She said she read this somewhere.

Can anyone verify what is needed?

    Thank you for your help!

hello! she doesn't need to bring all the docs for the visa interview. it's a medical exam. aside from all the above mentioned items, make sure she brings 3 pcs 2x2 passport photo, printout of appointment letter and her passport. i suggest she check her body and face for chicken pox marks so she can identify these to the immunization doctor, that would lessen the immunization shots that would be given her. she should bring something to eat like crackers and water since it is difficult to get out of line while you are waiting for your turn. also nice to bring something to read or pray the rosary (if she is religious)....good luck and welcome to the family!!

  14. Please that when u call the direct line , tell the person transfere you to local 104 (document verification department, person-in-charge is Roby)

hi shape of my heart! thanks for the info...i just checked with delbros and my payment was sent to nso april 14. roby said that it would take nso 1-4 weeks to send the document verification to usem. thanks again for the tip!

  15. Finally, after 364 days since USCIS recieved the petition my wife has her visa in hand!! Hoooooray!!

I plan to fly Meryll in by the 23rd to make VJer Meanne's wedding. Tanjay, Dennis and Antonette, are planning on attending the wedding also.

    :dancing::thumbs:

Our best wishes to all those on document verification. I hope nobody has to wait as long as we did.

That's the best news i have heard today! My best wishes to both of you! Your journey has been soooooooo long but am sure it was worth the wait and finally you can now start your new life together! May our Lord shower more blessings to you in this new chapter of your life!

  16. I was trying to reach USEM w/ this # 1-909-101-7878(im located in the Phil) since yesterday but its always a busy tone. Is there another way to reach them?

Another question, did u pay the Application Fee in BPI first or contact the Visa Information services to schedule your interview?

is your phone direct dial? if it is then you can do that...otherwise you will have to call 109 operator and ask them to connect you to that number...they already are very much aware of that number so no need to explain it....try calling at 8am when they open maybe the lines won't be too busy then...that's what i did and i got through in one shot...good luck girl!

I honestly dont know what to do. My flight will be few hours from now but Im still doubtful to risk going to Manila. Im from Cebu and dont have any relatives there so I have to stay in a pension house or hotel, Manila is so expensive so as much as possible I dont want to stay there for a long time. My interview date will be on April 22nd and period usually lasts 7-9 days.

    Thanks for the input friends!

you can still go for your medical exam but they will only get xray, check vital signs, height, weight, give blood test. but they will definitely make you come back for your physical exam since you have your period. during the physical exam they will make you take off ALL your clothes, read strip naked, and they will check every nook and cranny of your body especially down there. it would be very messy if you insist on having your checkup with your period, dont you think? go back after 2 days or as soon as your period is gone. if i had known you earlier i would have invited you over to our house in manila as i am also a cebuana. maybe you can try calling me when you come over...send me a pm and i will send you my local number or cell#. good luck and God bless!!

Thats nice of you foxyroxy. I dont know how to pm you as Im new here but I guess finding a cheap apartelle would be alright with me....if I can find.

I went to a gyne this afternoon and asked her for a pill that would stop the period and she said Im too late and Im still taking the pill in 50/50 chances. Its still raining hard here in Cebu and theres a heavy flood outside the house. Airlines are fully booked. We were listed for a chance passenger til the last flight and we were just unfortunate. Sigh~ if only....

yes i did hear about the floods in cebu...bad news indeed...anyway good luck to your medical...take care!!!

  18. Hi everyone,

I'm about ready to fill up the form DS-156 but i noticed i need my passport number. I had my medical exam April 1-2 and as we all know St. Luke keeps the passport as they will be the one to forward it along with the medical results to US embassy. I don't know my passport number off hand. Any idea how I can get/obtain my passport number. Or would it be the same with my old passport number?

    Thanks a lot.

    Joyce

you're welcome joyce! my pleasure to help in any way i can....in the same way that so many others here in VJ have helped me in this journey...thanks to my vj family! thanks to jimmyandangela for the compliment :-)

  19. One more thing...Make sure you have a copy of your Metrobank reciept, incase you have to hand your current reciept over to the guy at Window 37. If the reason for the hold is Document verification

thank you for the tip and we will continue praying for everyone in the NSO blackhole.

HI JOYCE, DON'T FRET. DID THE SLEC STAFF GIVE YOU A VACCINATION DOCUMENTATION WORKSHEET TOGETHER WITH THE X-RAY? CHECK OUT THE FORM AND YOU WILL FIND YOUR PASSPORT NUMBER AT THE TOP PORTION RIGHT BESIDE YOUR BIRTHDATE AND YOUR ALIEN CASE NUMBER. IT'S RIGHT THERE. SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY YOURSELF TOO MUCH OK?

  21. Finally, I got my visa!!!! I'm on AR before because of document verification. Thank you to all vjr's for all your support. I'll be flying on Ist week of may. 23. Thanks that would be great if you can find out if they are open on Friday. I tried to call the SLMEC last night for 3 hours straight and the phone was busy.

I do not know why Carol does not believe me when I say they are open on Friday. Her friend Mae told her they are closed on Friday and now she will not believe they are open on Friday when I tell her they are open on Friday.

Mae also told her to get all her Vaccinations in Gensan before the medical because it will cost her twice as much in Manila for the vaccinations. She beleives this also now. I told her they are included in the medical not to worry about vaccinations in Gensan.

Why does she believe it when people tell her things that are not true in the Philippines ?

It makes my job twice as hard when she does not believe what I say.

    hi feldz23,

just got back from day 2 of my medical exam at slec. firstly, they are open monday to friday except on philippine holidays. there is no holiday on friday so she can go there on friday. secondly, there is no need for her to get vaccinations prior to the medical exam. that is a mere waste of time and money. the doctor at slec will tell her what immunizations she will need and what are available at slec at the time she applies. you will be paying P7,671.35 in slec that includes the immunizations she will be receiving. so there is no point getting pre-vaccinated as you will be paying for the same things at slec. tell your fiance to call me at 09162832218 if she wants updated information. perhaps the persons who are advising her have outdated information already. good luck.

  24. Absolutely! That's exactly what we did...

    Cheers!!!

    Sheriff Uling

Of course you have to submit the DS157 that was validated by the bank as proof of your payment...you're on the right track!
