  1. She did ask the CO if she was approved and all he said was she had to wait for them to contact her. I really think this guy likes to be rude to people during the interview. The slip she got was PINK does this mean she was approved? Can someone let us know soon so we dont have to worry so much?

Everyone here who got pink slip were approved. She should get her visa soon. Glad she didn't get a white slip which accordingly means a long wait for doc verification.

    -Riza

Congrats! she is approved....don't worry about the rude fart at the embassy...at least she got a pink slip! Be happy and your visa must be on its way to her house!

Thanks Riza, We can breath a little better now. ShaSha also said that there was so many people at the embassy today that had to wait because of Delbros and the docs. The embassy knows this is a problem with Delbros and does nothing about it. Anyway thanks and goodluck everyone.

  2. Oh my... God. There is just no way I am spending $ 25,000.00 - $ 37,000.00 for a wedding. Holy Tae !

Lol, the buget was is $ 6,000.00.

    Thanks for that link !

I guess that would be the cost if you are really doing everything the american way... I am the would be bride and I am thinking of even lesser cost than what you have in mind (as in way lesser than $6,000). My fiance is from NC and I asked him to look for public parks near his place that allows wedding and so far he's checked lake wheeler and lake johnson which gives way lower rental price than other commercial wedding venues.

We are also looking into the elopement package (got the idea from my fellow january filers on our january thread) offered by romantic B&B getaway places (which could double as honeymoon).. well it is better than the courthouse if you are planning to get married the cheapest way first for AOS purposes and then get a church wedding later on... some sites also offer affordable packages for small weddings.

I will have my very simple yet elegant gown here, have it made by a local dressmaker so it will be cheaper. and I will also be buying other wedding stuffs here... and will also be making almost everything else needed myself so that will really cut cost for us and we are also having a very small intimate wedding with just family and very select friends. (the number of visitors also determines the cost of the wedding)

BTW, I have friends who went to the US either for work or marriage and they said it will be cheaper to buy clothes here (except when you buy winter clothes during summer or off season clothes there).. I mean the normal daily clothes for zen, including undies and everything else. I don't really know, maybe you could check prices in the US and ask Zen to compare prices of clothings here in PI (philippine islands)

    hi dbears,

please send me the link to those elopement packages....thanks!!

  3. Hi, may i ask how to know the "date forwarded to NSO"? I texted Delbros for my documents verification status and said--Case Nos. not yet released to Delbros. It is still in process at the embassy. :crying: What does it mean?

    Delbros Payment: April 8, 2008

    Interview: April 24, 2008

it means that the request from the embassy to have ur docs verified is not done yet... delbros is just waiting for the list from the embassy i think before the requests are forwarded to NSO.. i suggest u start calling USEM and ask what you can do to avoid delays to give them a go signal that you already have paid the Doc Veri fee....

    hi vcm,

u don't need to bring the passport and medical report since SLEC will forward this to USEM after you have taken your medical exam.

dont' forget to bring the following:

birth certificate on nso security paper

    cenomar on nso security paper

    latest nbi clearance

baptismal certificate (if you have one just for additional supporting docs)

    ds156k (1 copy)

    ds157 (2 copies)

make sure your affidavit of support is original and notarized

arrange your docs in an organized manner. doing so will make your interviewer happy coz you won't be wasting their time.

here is a link to help you prepare for the interview: http://www.fiddlers.us/questions/

    good luck!!

Oppps I am confused with that, how come we have to BRING 2 copies when the bank validated just 1 copy of DS 157?

    Do u mean, 1 DS 156,1 DS 156K and 1 DS 157 ?? Thanks ahead ;)

you need to submit 2 copies of the DS156, 1 copy of the DS156k and 2 copies of the DS157 (1 validated by the bank & 1 with no validation)

  6. Hi, I live here in Davao but I was born in General Santos City. My bf name forgiven suggested me to join on this site coz it may help me what to do to be able to get a corrected one and to get a clearer copy coz everytime I get my NSO BC it is not clear also and its not almost readable. My NSO BC has many descripancies like no entry of my place of birth, incorrect lastname of my father, incomplete year…that makes me worried since I am applying for a passport as well as getting a K1 visa soon..pls let me know where I should go first or what to do first and know how long would it take to get my NSO BC which is already a corrected one and be clearer and readable coz, this may cause problem soon and the US embassy might not accept it which may trigger in delaying in applying for a fiancée visa. Any help would be appreciated…

    hello fleur!

foxyroxy here. i had a problem with my name too and i had to file a petition on correction of name. let me share with you this link:

    http://www.census.gov.ph/CARAGA/HTML/RA9048.htm

it discusses RA9048 wherein i think you are covered due to clerical errors. my advise is do not go to lawyers as they will tell you all sorts of things and charge you exorbitant fees. your case is very simple and falls under this RA9048. Proceed to your LCRO and consult the local civil registrar (who is also a lawyer). he will tell you what steps to take. mine took only a month. kelangan tutukan mo kasi if you don't tatagal ng 3 months. make sure you know and understand all the procedures that will be taken and make a timeline. doing this will help lessen the stress of waiting. don't worry. it's easier than you think. do it the earliest that you can.

good luck and you are in my prayers.

  7. i just got the call from my lovely fiancée...she was approved!!!!

she had her medical last week, and all went well, and now she got the pink slip at the embassy. she is excited to get out of manila and back home...and then on to america soon :)

she said several people from VJ here recognized her at the embassy....i guess our large picture in our signature gave her away ;)

to all you others still waiting out there, best of luck, and may you have as quick and favorable journeys as we did!

and no small thanks to VJ too for having answers to all our questions...especially last minute questions to set our minds at ease....thank you, to all of you, and especially to the experts who have "been there, done that"

thanks to all of you on this board! :)

    congrats!

  8. she is having such a difficult time getting her passport and a correct birth certificate. I'm unable to help her and everything is so confused and messed up.

Please IM if you can help

why not try consulting the lawyer in the local civil registrar's office on what should be done. had a problem with my bc. consulted our local civil registrar and he was a big help. my bc got fixed within a month. maybe you can ask your girl to try it out. jsut a suggestion.

  9. white paper

they told her she had to wait for verification

oh sorry to hear that...so you haven't paid yet the delbros delivery fee? then let's just pray some more and am sure God will make all things right in His time...Keep the faith!!!

  10. hi there!

let me share with you my birth certificate experience. for years i had a problem with my name on my bc with re to my first and last name. i had consulted several lawyers and travel agents to fix it up for me but i never pushed through with them because they were charging me exorbitant fees. until we filed the fiance application and i realized that i had to fix up my bc since it is one of the vital docs needed by the embassy. just by chance i tried calling up the local civil registrar where i live. lo and behold! the lawyer in the city hall told me that the problem was very easy and all i had to do was file a petition for correction on name. i did file the petition, paid P1500.00 and after a month they gave me the certificate of finality from NSO. this certification means that the local civil registrar will now correct the entries on the wrong bc to reflect the correct entries. it wasn't really a big problem after all.

maybe your lady can go to the lawyer in the local civil registrar in gensan and consult him on her problem. am sure he will give her a better solution than those of the travel agents.

    good luck!

  11. (F) Loving Heavenly Father,

You know all my worries and fears regarding this interview! You are a most loving heavenly Father and You understand my innermost feelings!

Yes Lord! I am so nervous thinking about the outcome of this interview. You know my limitations Lord, but Your word says that Your strength is enough in our times of weakness. I admit that I have no wisdom or knowledge of my own. But I have confidence that I can do every thing through Christ who strengthens me. I do not know what is in store for me but I know that my future is in the hands of Lord of Lords, Who has made me. So Lord be with me and help me to find grace in the sight of the concerned authorities. I need not be afraid of men because I have the Lord Almighty beside me. Please go before me and let me answer the questions boldly and intelligently. Please remove all the unwanted fears and worries and fill me with courage. Let me never be put in shame.

I thank You Lord for listening to my supplications and filling me with Your peace. In Jesus' name I pray.

    Amen.

    (L) Michael&Maria

Thanks for sharing this beautiful prayer Allrights! Good luck to all of you who still have to undergo the interview!

  12. Congrats! I'm just wondering what time should you be at the embassy? Do they give the ticket number as early as 5:30 A.M.?

JAS NOEL, the ticket numbers are given once you are inside the embassy already. be at the embassy at the least 1 hr before your scheduled time. if you are sked for 7:30, be there bet 6-630am. the guards at the gate will start allowing people to enter the embassy depending on your interview time. you cannot enter the gates until the guards announce that all those scheduled for 730am interview can now line up at the gates...it's a long process so just be prepared to take long waits during the interview...have a hearty breakfast and get lots of sleep the night before so your mind is refreshed and your nerves are calm...good luck!!!

  13. I just have my interview earlier,...

Arrived at 6:30 for 7:30 schedule... we're out at 11am

There were plenty people in US Embassy....

The guard guide us to the blue chairs area and wait to get the ticket # and submit DS forms & appointment letter

Return back to the blue chairs and wait my # flash in the screen for the pre-screen interview...

Filipino pre-screener just asked my cenomar, nso, nbi, 1-134, when is my birthday & where did I met my fiance. He told me to sign the DS forms(he checked already which one will I need to sign). He then told me to proceed in window 15 for finger print scanning.

After fingerprint scanning we return to blue chairs and wait for my # to be flash in the board for final interview (it takes 3 hours i think :( I was assigned in window 31.

    The consul is nice.

Here are some of his questions to me:

When did u first met ur fiance?

When did u met him in person?

What are u doing in Costa Rica? did u just went there specially to met him?

Do u have relatives in Costa Rica?

So, you work in TV Station?

and you work in FM Station?

What is MCkinsey & Company? (my latest job)

The consul will just ask depends on ur documents .... nothing else :)

    His questions for my fiance:

    So you are a chief?

What are your specialties? :) Then reach to cooking ;) hehe

We're there inside maybe 10 minutes :) coz he's slow in typing back and forth in PC.

He then said, I am approved, and it's easy for him to do it haha...

all in all he's nice and friendly...

I met my friends in VJ also :)

Ate Zandy & Joyce congratulations :) Thanks God, we made it ..

Dr. Mirage .... thanks for talking to Ryan,..:)

To other VJ members that also there, Congratulations :)

    congrats!!

  14. So here i go again lol... hello everybody and thanks for taking time reading to my ever non-sense paranoia and anxiety.... tomorrow around 7:45 a.m ill be officially working at Ace hardware as a cashier (full time 40 hrs/week)... and this will be my first time job without the comfort of my husband's business and the comfort of our home as a home agent...

i already have work here in he US after i got my GC in my husband's store (handling cash registry, inventory, merchandising, cleaning, customer service etc)... the thing is i can what i want, i can do go home when i want and that i can just tell my boss (my husband) that i dont wana work today lol... so it isnt a "real" job per se plus the check im getting feels like not a "real" paycheck since it coming from our own business hehe... so i applied as a home agent handling cable billing (comcast) dealing with customer on the phone if they wana pay some bills, or if the want upgrade or troubleshoot their TV... the thing again is that there's a bunch of irate customers that they will yell and get angry for no particular reason and i cant handle such attitude which i cant blame them coz somehow they felt the company gave them a bad customer service... so after a month i quit... lol... hindi ko masikmura (i cant stomach it) hehehe... i can say, my english is ok but when they started yelling, suddenly i felt like im talking to them as if they come from mars or from pluto... we cant understand each other hahah...

and so here i am again, was hired by ACE hardware last saturday and will work right away tomorrow... yesterday my husband and i bought some food for lunch for my work, lunch box, water bottle and some clothes and working shoes... and it really feels like its my first day of school  my husband and i were laughing about all our stuff that we bought and that im really really nervous and cant sleep and i think there's an elephant in my stomach aside from a butterfly. lol...

so this is it... i really hope ill do great tomorrow and they wont fire me right away hahaha... wish me luck y'all and may God give me strength and presence of mind while working...

God bless and will update you about my first day!!! :luv:

GO PINAY!! Good luck on your new job...on your new adventure!!!

  15. After a VERY long process with the NVC my wife finaly had her medical exam. It seems they saw something on her x-ray, and now she must return for sputum testing. It will be 4-8 weeks for test results to get back. SLEC told her they will notify her and reschedule her interview. Will she have to wait another two months for an interview like before? Will SLEC squeeze her in?

sorry to hear about that mogdog. don't know the answer to your questions but all i can do is pray for the best. God bless!

  16. Wow. . what a timeline!! There are some couples who filed their 129 last November and have not even received their NOA2 yet. Goodluck on the interview. Hopefully the W-2 and 2008 paystubs will cover up the lack of your 2007 ITR.

hi zen_den, jom is right! what a timeline! your papers moved so FAAAAAAAAAST!!! what's your secret? maybe you could share it so that others who are still waiting at step 1 can also speed up the process. Regarding the ITR, don't worry am sure you will be approved. with the speed your papers were processed, i guess there really is no problem with your docs at all. just make sure you have paid the doc ver fee reaaaallllyyy early so you don't get stuck in that phase. Good luck!!

  17. and so i had my interview today..

my interview appointment is 7:30am, i arrived at the USEM 5:30am (nde nman ako bibo! :)) lotsa peeps offering visa picture and seat services. don't be surprised by the peeps offering u seats and askin for the P30 seat fee..

around 6:15-6:30am the guard started to call peeps that are scheduled for 7:30am interview, and so we immediately walked towards the line near gate 2.

at the gate 2, we were asked to show appointment letter and an ID, after passing the guard, we passed through a door where all your bags and stuff will be scanned, then pass through pavilion, and we entered the USEM.

inside the USEM, we were asked to sit on blue chairs and wait til the guard call our row. then we waited for several minutes then we were asked to stand on line where they gonna ask for your DS forms and in return they gonna give you a number that you’re gonna use the whole time you're there. (note:make sure u have filled them out correctly and completely, hassle kse pag nde). after u got the number you have to wait for your number or your name to be called for the pre-screener or finger scanning.

    (note:pinoy lahat ng pre-screener.)

then, i was called for finger scanning first, i repeated it for 3 times since my fingers seem wet and that when i try to push it down the scanner it wouldn't show perfect prints.. after that i was asked to sit for a while and wait for my number to be flashed on the screen.

and so my number was flashed and i was asked to go to window2 2. the guy asked for my birth cert and nbi, but insisted that he gets my cenomar.. he did :) he asked my questions about my birth cert.. then he asked for the affidavit of support and income tax return 2007 but i gave him 2006, 2007, and w2.. then asked for pictures and emails, i said we hav no email since we chat everyday, i also told him i got phone bills of my fiance.

so all in all, with the pre-screener i submitted birth cert, nbi, affidavit of support and income tax returns w2, 2006 and 2007, pictures and phone bills and chat logs.. also with the pre-screener i was asked some questions like when is my bday for several times.. LOL! then i was asked to sit at the waiting area and wait for my number to be called.

and my number was flashed for the final interview.. WINDOW: 28

i entered the room and he greeted me good morning..

i sat and said "hello, good morning!"

he asked me to swear that all imma say is true.. i said "YES!"

here are the questions : (note:this is how i remember the order the questions were asked to me)

    1. who is your petitioner?

    2. when is his b-day?

    3. where was he born?

    4. was he ever married?

    5. how did u meet him?

    6. when was the first time you talked to him?

    7. what does he do for work?

    8. what do u do for work?

    9. how many times did he come to visit

    10. for how long?

    11. when was the last time he visited?

    12. how many times did he come to visit you?

    13. why didn't he come back?

    14. did he meet you parents?

    15. why would you wanna marry him?

then he looked at the phone bills of my fiance, our pictures and he read some of our chat logs..

then he said.. "well, everything is fine.. we just need one more document from you"..

my face became serious and he said "u don’t have to worry, here's what i need you to do.. when you go outside, wait for your name to be called and pay for your visa delivery"..

i smiled then asked if that is all.. he said "yes" then i said "thank you"..

outside.. my name was called after around 2 minutes, the guy from window 37 asked me if i already paid delbros for doc verification, i said yes and he asked me to show the receipt, i showed the receipt and he gave me a pink and white slip, i dint ask why i got the white slip since almost all girls got them and i heard from the girl infront of me when i was standing on line at window 37, she was advised that its for document verification..

this was my experience and hope it will help..

    to the ff peeps:

His beginning and ending statements were the same. haha! i think that's really his spiel. You can now relax, go to the spa, have a body massage!! You deserve it girl!!!

  18. Hello guys,

We had our appointment on April 22nd at 7:30am.

I'm now at the lobby of Bayview Hotel across the embassy 12:30pm and writing this post about my experience before I leave the hotel.

We finished our interview at around 11:15am and before I go out and start celebrating with my family and fiance, I want to update you fellow VJ'ers because I know how important these posts are to you who are having their interview on April 23rd, 24th and 25th.

I'll skip all the specific details about filling in line and getting your ticket number etc because its pretty much self explanatory.

But before you get into the embassy, have your appointment letter with one valid ID before you enter the Embassy.

Today we met up with about a dozen VJ members including Sandy, Prime & Ryan... ETC. Sorry for those I do not remember, because I didnt really ask for everyonnes profile.

I was surprised to see that there were about 100 K-1, K-2, K-3 who were interviewed today because I wasn't expecting that many who are scheduled.

Before you get your ticket # in the que. Have all these prepared before you reach the window. (about 1 hour wait)

2 copies of DS-156 (paste the picture and sign the applicant signature),

2 copies of DS-157 (one from the bank that is validated, and the one that you filled up yourself)

    1 copy DS-156K

After this step, you wait to get scanned for finger prints. (about 30 mins wait)

The most important are the documents that the pre-screener asked for.

I was asked if I was the petitioner. Second, if my fiance has been married before. Third, they requested for Birth Certificate, NBI Clearance, 2007 ITR (1040) most recent and the affidavit of support. Lastly, they asked my fiance if she worked out side the Philippines.

They did not ask for the Cenomar, Check Stubs, W-2s, letters, email. I brought 3 years of ITR and W-2s but were not necessary. They only asked for the most recent 1040 2007 ITR.

The pre screener did ask for pictures, but we had enough with the petition that we submitted with the I-129F. After the pre-screen we sat back down and waited about more than 30 mins for our ticket # to be called for the final interview.

Then we waited to be called for the CO.

The CO that interviewed my fiance asked me to step outside the door and leave all my documents with my fiance. Most of the petitioners who did attend were admitted in the interview room, but I wasnt able to go inside.

The interview took about 5 mins while I waited outside. The CO was very nice and asked these question.

First question, the CO asked about my parents (petitioner) what do they do for a living.

Second question, if my fiance was married or pregnant before

Third question is on how we met.

Forth question, CO asked about the restaurant that we went to when we first met.

Fifth question, CO asked where he can buy a good egg tart.

Sixth question, CO asked if my fiance knew this other bake shop

Seventh question, CO asked if my fiance has been to the US.

Eight question, CO asked about the denied tourist visa she applied for June of 2007. (if my fiance's intention was to visit me) My fiance said NO.

Last question, CO asked how we communicate.

Then CO was writing, he quickly said that we were approved!!! The whole interview lasted for 3-5 mins. We really didn't time it, but my fiance said it was very easy and the CO was very nice. we were at window 32.

We asked for a visa pickup but the CO says they no longer let people pick up the visa.

The CO asked why we need the VISA pickup, and we said because we have our reservation and we will be leaving on May 2nd. The CO says he will try his best that we get our visa before that because they are no longer allowing visa pick up.

We then filled and paid for Delbros to deliver our visa with others who got approve with the PINK SLIP. Everyone seemed to have gotten approved. I didnt see any white slips. Also, I see people smiling after their interviews which means they got the approval.

For everyone who will be having their interviews this week or in the future. My advise is to just relax and have all your documents ready. Do not be nevrous or worry too much.

If you have all your documents ready you will be approved. Also, get your DOC verification early, we paid for our doc verification March 6th and NSO received it on March 17th. (do this early so there will not be a problem).

Thank you all for all those who have helped here in VJ. I wish everyone the best in your future interview and I hope what I have written down can help you get that approval.

  21. Hello Marie. My daughter's name was misspelled on the I-129F that Ricky submitted. We did include my birth certificate as well as the birth certificate of the two kids in the submission. It could have spelled out an RFE for us but thank God it passed through USCIS and NVC's hand without problem. I am just glad that only the call center agent at the US embassy manila visa services center noticed it while Ricky was dictating the spelling of our names.

I hope the adjudicator that is or will be handling your case will also be a little lenient and would know and consider that MA. is just a shortened form of MARIA.

I wish you all the best always. (F)

Hi Gay! You're lucky about that, I wish the adjudicator would be that tired not to notice it. Sure laugh Maria :bonk:. I really didn't noticed it until last night as I was making an overview of our piled documents here. Anyway, I rushed this morning and secured an Affidavit of Discrepancy, I am mailing it tomorrow together with my birth certificate, photocopied passport and PRC License to support the affidavit. This is to anticipate if we get an RFE..grrrr.

Big thanks Gay/dbears. Regards and kisses to the kids. Good luck on your medical, can't wait for you to share and I'll be seeing myself in your shoes.

Hi Marie, my daughter's birth certificate also shows my incomplete name. It's even worse than your case. My name is Maria Teresa Roxanne but my daughter's birth certificate only showed Roxanne. Guess what?! Our papers were still approved at CSC. And now am scheduled for interview at the embassy on wed apr23. I thank God that the person handling our case was very understanding. Don't worry too much. May the Lord guide you and lead you in all the things that you will need to accomplish for this journey. God bless!

  22. Hello all,

How difficult is it going to be when its scattered t-storms in Manila during this week's interview.

I'm already expecting it to be hot and humid.

I'm scheduled on Tuesday with a few others here on this board.

Weather.com says Manila is in the mid 90's with about 70% humidity making it feel like mid 100's. Yikes!!!

    -Doc

Hi Doc! Yes it is hot and humid in Manila. If you fear this weather, then just hole up in your hotel room where there is aircon :-) Wouldn't that be better especially if you are with your sweetie :-) Good luck to your interview and will be praying for you.
