You might want to have a talk with your fiance too, regarding the rest of this process. I'm pretty new at all this too, but from what I've gathered from scouring these boards is this: be honest, and be forthcoming. If you share the same family name with your daughter, then the only thing that's going to cause suspicion or confusion is if your fiance seems to be less than forthcoming about it. You have done nothing wrong, and you have nothing to hide. Don't let him complicate things for you by making them think you are hiding something.
i know my case isn't unique. i know there are a lot of single moms out there who have found love and are also here on vj. you are right, he needs to be more supportive and helpful since the pressure now would be on me to prove to the consul that he made an honest mistake with my daughter's name on the I-129F form. in the first place, he already knew that we had the same family name. it was an issue when we first met and until now it is still an issue with him. this makes me feel that he had a hidden agenda when he inadvertently forgot to write her last name. anyway, thanks guys for your advices...it's so nice to hear from fellow vj'ers. thanks!

I don't know how long it will take to get an interview. I would contact the Embassy as soon as possible.
the child will need to have a medical. your wife's mom or dad can represent her at the child's interview. appyling for the visa is basically the same as for a K-1, would not need the DS-156k submitted. if traveling with anyone other than your wife, believe a travel permit would be needed from DSWD.
My friend just called USE and give the interview schedule after 2 weeks, as long as the kid will follow within a year is fine, same as k1 need to send the Affidavit of support also, need medical too.....
as what the others say need DSWD permit if the kid will travel with relatives
Yes, i checked this out too since i also have the same concern with my daughter. the kid is allowed to follow within one year from the time the k1 visa was approved for the fiance.

Hi guys! i feel so blessed because my fiance mailed the I-129F packet sept 5, and he received the NOA1 sept 10. We filed it at the California Service Center. I don't know though whether the check has been encashed.

I'm not sure that the U.S. would be concerned about Filipino law in this matter. A friend was going to bring his wife and her son here and he had the same situation and there wasn't any problems right up until he found out she was cheating on him
i guess i shouldn't worry then unless we get an RFE. thanks!

hello! my fiance filed the petition just recently. he says that i might have a problem with my daughter since she has the same family name as i do. my daughter was born in 1991 and during the time i gave birth, there was a law passed in Philippine Congress for the Family Code that the name of illegitimate children must follow the family name of the mother. thus my daughter and i have the same middle name and the same last name. my fiance is insistent that it would appear to the consul that my daughter is like my sister. and he insists that i may have a problem here. my daughter is 16 yrs old and i have never had a problem with my daughter's name, whether in school or in any other government institution. i really don't know where my fiance's worries come from.
in the duplicate copy I have of the I-129F form passed by my fiance, i noticed that he "missed" the family name of my daughter. it appears on the form that my daughter has no last name. i am afraid that this might cause some problem because of the last name he inadvertently "missed". the birth certificate of my daughter will not match the information on the I-129F form. Please advise me anyone, please!!! Thanks!!!

Do you really need a log? Because in our case, I only showed 4 phone bills (2 from him; 2 from me) and then the rest are 8 reloadable Sprint calling cards (with tons of loading receipts) during my interview and it worked. To think, we have been communicating for over three years prior to our marriage. CO did not bother to ask me about it.I need to find a new card company. The one I used for the past 10 months (WPC) I had to fight tooth and nail to get them after maybe $1000 spent. They said it will be the ONLY and last time I can request them... they said its too expensive to pay their employees for that.., LOL! no more money from me! anyways...
anyone use a good company that offers call logs without hassle? thanks so much!
hi island princess! what is a reloadable sprint calling card? can you tell me how that works? might be cheaper than what we are currently using now, the pldt budget card P200.00 per card. is that available here in the philippines?

hi! my fiance is so totally old-fashioned (read: non-techie at all!) so we have been communicating thru phone calls and letters and cards. how i wish he could be more internet-savvy but he aint. i just hope that the phone cards and our fedex bills would be sufficient evidence to the consul that we have been communicating for the past 5 months. anyone have the same situation as i do?

WOW Thats Great News !!!!
I am over the moon for you. I think we might also call tonight to see what they say about ours. Do you know who you spoke to, or was it a man or woman.
Just to help us with who we talk to.
Once again Hurrah !!! Congrats
Wow! Am so happy for everyone here who has received their NOA2. I am very new to this forum. my fiance just recently received the NOA1 last sept 10, 2 working days after he mailed it the CSC. We were both ecstatic!!! But now i see that we are really just at the beginning of a long wait. Well...we have waited for a long time to find love, so a little more waiting I guess won't hurt us but will be a real test of our true love for each other.
To everyone here....GOOD LUCK!!! MAY WE ALL GET OUR VISAS SOON AND BE WITH OUR LOVED ONE SOONER!!

Length of relationship is not an issue. Proof you have and maintain a valid and true one is all that, really, counts!
Photos together, copies of travel tickets, visa entry / exit stamps, and receipts will assist in displaying this.
Don't worry!
Thank you for all your replies! Will definitely start collecting the evidences in time for the filing....thanks again!

hi, i am a newbie here. my fiance and i are still going to start the application for fiance visa petition. this site is really a great help. i am learning so much in this site. i have a question though, our relationship started april 2007, we personally met in july 2007 when he came to the Phils., then we decided to get married in the US. Do you think the short period of time that we have known each other would be an issue at the interview? we do not have a lot of photos but we have receipts of the places we went to. pls help! thanks!
