Really sorry to hear about your situation.I watched a youtube live yestrday of some immigration lawyers & they were asked about the London embassy. They said it is their understanding that the London embassy is working at 50 percent capacity and only doing 2/3rds of the work load that they had in April 2019. At that rate- there will always be a back log. Maybe you guys can plan visits with your husband? It's not fair but just wanted to share what I heard so you're as well prepared as can be

When I picked up my re entry permit they said they were back to full capacity :(. We just can’t afford visiting now. He’s going to come over on an esta to get us set up in our new apartment (been in the uk on a re entry permit, I’m a LPR not a citizen) but he only has 90 days on that.

I would guess with your October date, they have given some preference to clear it off the system.  Maybe they will be getting into the bulk of others next month then. Fingers crossed at least

I am absolutely PRAYING that they fit all the backlog into the next two months. We DQd April 8th and my husband is getting separated from our baby next week :(

    Hello everyone,

I wanted to say that I have also not received any email regarding an apology based on delay. We are now over 120 days.

Also, I have previously mentioned that my husband and I were granted an expedite due to our circumstances. We received this email 18 days ago now. We were told to contact after 2 weeks of no movement, which we did. Upon contacting the NVC, they "promised" (quite literally the words used by 2/3 operators) that our case was with London Embassy. Upon contacting the Embassy, we were informed that it had not yet left the NVC

Yesterday, my husband contacted the NVC for the final time. He was transferred to a supervisor who told us that our case had not in fact left the NVC. It turns out we were lied to by numerous operators. This supervisor claimed that we were in "extra administrative processing". After speaking with an immigration lawyer, it seems that our case HAS NOT been flagged as having any reasons to be under processing and this is just simply a "Safe zone" for them while they cover themselves for the backlog. I just wanted to mention that the backlog that we are experiencing seems to be coming from the NVC, not a hold up at the Embassy.

It is extremely inspiring to witness people across the globe, adapting to our new current climate that we are finding ourselves in. I wish that the NVC would follow suit.

We’re in this “necessary processing” stage too. SO frustrating. Solidarity!

I DQ’d March 13th and based on other people’s dates was expecting my IL this month for July. With none going out in May I'm now thinking it may be delayed. My husband and three kids leave thebUK to move in just over a week. Hoping I am not too far behind them 😢

We DQd April 8th and i have to leave with our toddler next week without my husband :(

Anyone have any idea why there have been no new interview dates in London?  Things seem to be wide open but no one's updated their timeline for 5 weeks. We are DQ February 10.

I’m praying it’s because they’re figuring out how to fit all the backlog into next month and we’re gonna hear this week 😅

First post but been lurking for a year.

Going into June 2021, 18 months into the pandemic, where are we at with London interviews as of now? Is the outlook brighter than it was at Christmas time?

Surely, as the rest of the country gets back to normal, they have reduced the COViD backlog by now. If not, why not? They operated all through the last lockdown unlike some organisations. I see people here who were DQ'd in February and March are STILL waiting for interviews.

A few questions about my case, if anyone can kindly answer. Applied for I130 in March 2020, sent to NVC March 2021, uploaded docs, all good. Then I guess the tax year passed (April) so they requested W2 forms from my husband for 2020 despite CEAC showing as 'Accepted'. Now we seem to be at the back of the queue again waiting. They didn't ask for 2020 W2s in March because it was the previous tax year.

So we are limbo. I don't know if our case is ready for Embassy and NVC are waiting for an interview slot, or it is stuck at NVC. Neither Embassy or the outsourced company that handles NVC calls can give us an answer.

    Anyway,

+ When accepted, will the DQ date be the Accepted date (March?) Or whenever they approve the W2? Again, we were not asked to upload those forms for this tax year.

+ Say our case when to Embassy tomorrow. What is the best and worst case scenario for interview dates? June? July? August? September? Or is still a guessing game at this point?

P..s. We sent an expedite for another reason and it was rejected because the Embassy can't take on expedites at the moment which suggests there's still a backlog. But maybe they've nearly caught up and want to clear the backlog for everyone in June.

Anyone has any predictions about interviews in general?

+ June, when (if) full restrictions are lifted, they will operate at full capacity again and clear the backlog in July and go back to the 4 to 6 week timeline.

+ They will invite February, March, April DQs for June interviews.

+ Things will just remain the same for months and months and this is the new way of doing things.

It could be any ot those I guess and it's just pointless speculating.

Nothing really to say to this other than if they had April DQers interviewed in June I would literally cry with happiness.

Hello everyone, I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right place, but here goes.…

We are currently DQ, just May 3rd.
F2a spouse visa, California SC, PD August 2019
Question is…will my husbands interview be on a similar time frame as the IR-1/CR1 visa? I can’t seem to find many F2a visas for UK. Thank you.

Thanks so much! What kind of research do you think they’re doing on me! 😳

  8. So I’m really confused. And definitely stressed. We’re going through the F2a, I’m a LPR, husband is British. Have been DQd with NVC, requested an expedited appointment, but got an email stating our case is going through necessary administrative processing. It hasn’t even been sent to the London embassy yet, so what does this mean?! Anyone have any insight? Because I can’t seem to find much online about it, and no one can really give me an answer at NVC, other than “a department is reviewing”.

  9. On 5/1/2021 at 2:18 PM, Ahava said:

The NVC reviews expedite requests on case by case basis and then forward it to the embassy for a decision if the reason for expedite request meets the criteria. But sometimes, the NVC replies without sending it to the embassy. Because it is case by case review there is no specific answer.

If the NVC sent the case to the embassy they usually send an email like this:

    Dear Sir/Madam:

We are reviewing your request for expedited processing of this immigrant visa petition. We will notify you with the results when the review is complete.

Please note that only the U.S. Embassy or Consulate has the ability to approve or deny expedite requests

So I called NVC last night and they said that it was the embassy that had put our expedite request into AP? Not really sure what’s going on - especially since we haven’t been interviewed yet. So stressful!

  10. I’m feeling really discouraged right now, our expedite request was denied by the embassy, they’ve said they will review our documents soon. So - what does soon mean? How long did you guys wait between uploading and processing? How long did you have to wait between the documents being accepted and getting your interview? Sorry if this has been answered I’m on mobile and running after a 1 year old - it’s hard to find answers lol. Just hoping this will all be taken care of for hubby before my re entry permit runs out

Had my interview last week 1/12 and medical the two weeks before 18/11.

    1. There is a specific list of vaccinations that are required, but I don't think I needed everything on the list.

Have a look and see what's on the list here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/vaccinations.html

    2. I needed a tetanus booster (£40 I believe)

    3. Had this during the medical for ease and simplicity.

    4. If you are able to find a clinic that does the vaccinations, then you can, just ensure you have paperwork to take along to your medical for review (along with your vaccination record and summary care record from your GP)

Some people have said their GP surgeries do offer vaccinations for travel, but I think unlikely at this stage because their focus may be on the COVID vaccine.

    5. You are only able to use one specific visa clinic for your medical, this one here: https://visamedicals.co.uk/

    Hope that's helpful! :)

Thanks angel! I’ll have a look!

  12. To anyone that has had their interview/medical recently - what vaccinations were required? Did you have to get additional? Did you do this preemptively or at the clinic? Which visa clinic did you use? We’re you able to use nhs for new vaccinations? The CDC list seems really extensive, is that accurate?

    thanks!

Hi! This forum is an absolute GOD SEND! I'm stuck in Scotland, luckily with my family, but waiting for my interview.

DQ was mid Oct so will be well into the new year, but I'm concerned about vaxinations. I've lived out of the uk for 6 years and any vax book I would have had is in shipping. Has anyone here had to just have all the jabs fresh so they had the evidence? Looks like a few places are closed for jabs due to covid. But not seen much mentioned here, so was this straightforward for everyone? Hope you all get a few more interviews for you in January and the good news keeps coming. It is such a relief to find this forum, its felt very lonely up till now but all these stories, man, we have all had such a crazy year!!

I called my husbands GP and asked for a rundown of all his - would you be able to call wherever you had shots before for them to resend rather than having to wait for the book?
We’re waiting for my husbands interview too, good luck!!

    Well guys...

    I got...

    APPROVED!

Well, technically I got the green slip asking me to upload the missus' 1040 for 2019. But uh... That is now already uploaded, because despite my wife being in california she's still awake and she did it 😂. CO told me as long as I did it today it wouldn't add any processing time to my visa processing.

The words do not exist in the English language to express my relief thst this is done, and that in all likelihood I'll be home with my better half for Christmas. This year has been horrible, I'm sure we can all agree. But thank you guys all so much, for all the information, support, encouragement, all of it. I'm feeling a lot of things right now so I'm not sure if I'm even typing this in English.

I'll do a interview review thing shortly. Right now I need to decompress. I'm sure those of you recently approved will be familiar with the feeling but it's like... Literally my whole damn life from august last year to right now has revolved around this process and now it's done. Do I laugh? Cry? Scream all of that stress into the void and breathe in the glorious fresh air of relief? I'll update you all which one(s) I decide to do.

    Much love. ❤️❤️❤️

    AAAHHHH CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I wouldn't think it's an issue, I would think it's how most people meet these days! I met my husband (he's from the US, I'm Irish) on a dating site too, nearly 14 years ago when we both lived in London. I'm sure it will be just fine : ) We are waiting for my interview to be scheduled so we can move to the US with his work. It's a long, slow wait to hear anything, but it's so so helpful to hear everyones stories on here!

Thanks so much for the boost! And good luck to you! We’re waiting on our interview to be scheduled too. Im A LPR and he’s from the UK so who knows how long that will be 😩

    Thanks :)

Super easy questions, nothing outside of what has been mentioned. The officer asked (she was really lovely!):

    1. How did you and your husband meet?

    2. Why and how did you decide to get married in Gibraltar?

    3. When was the last time you saw each other? (she took this response as an opportunity to say we would be spending all the time in the world together very soon :) )

Any other questions, just shout :)

That’s so cute! I’m just nervous because I met my husband on a dating site while I was on a temp visit. We’re very happily married with a daughter now but...is that a red flag?

Thanks to all for the support - happy to report today that interview went smoothly and all approved. Not any great detail to add here that hasn't already been mentioned, but of course always happy to answer any specific questions if anyone has, so please do ask away.

Awaiting my passport in the hope that processing will be quick and the real planning can begin :)

Good luck to everyone with interviews upcoming - I don't have favourites but @Andy & Jamie I know how much it's meant to you to have yours coming up soon, am sure all will go well! :)

Congratulations!! What kind of questions were you asked if you don’t mind? 😍

    Oh dear!
This one is out of my depth I’m afraid. Hoping that someone else around might be able to offer some insight for you.

Definitely not the right reason if your expedite has been denied, but your application will still be going through the process, albeit slowly given the current backlog.

    I was wrong. Ours is a c21.

  18. This is going to some ignorant I think and I’m sorry if I’m posting to the wrong thread - but the NVC just denied our expedite request on the grounds that the US Embassy has suspended routine visa services. What does that mean? Is it because I’m a permanent resident and not a citizen?
