  1. To give an update on my case

I was invited in November 2023 and completed all the necessary documentation, including medicals. I submitted everything to USCIS but have been waiting for my advance travel authorization since Feb 24th. It has been over three weeks now. Is anyone else experiencing a similar situation, @TBoneTX @Boiler?

    Thanks!

PS: I am still on this journey!

  2. Thank you, Boiler, for your help and for attempting to gather information in this regard. To provide you guys with an update, my case for the I134a family reunification program was confirmed on January 18, 2024. I'm unsure about the next steps, so I'll need to explore forums to find out what's needed. By the way, I did not receive an email confirmation, so I may have to get in touch with USCIS. I received a notification on my app indicating a new status on my case.

  3. I received an invitation on November 20th for a family reunification program from Ecuador, and I think I was among the first to receive it. On Monday, December 4th, I successfully submitted my I-134A form along with my co-sponsor information. Now, I'm waiting for a response from USCIS. I hope there's someone else in a similar situation who can share their timeline.

    I am F2B March 2017

  4. I am a bit skeptical about this family reunification program. They might not allocate enough invitations, or it might take longer to get one. If this becomes a reality, then I will be able to qualify for one due to the fact that I am from Ecuador within the F2B category, with PD March 2017. I was approved in October 2020, and I am not currently in the U.S., but I am a dual citizen. However, since it's a reunification program, being a dual citizen might not be an issue.

    hi everyone!!

i got an interview letter on september 13, 2021. interview scheduled for october 18, 2021 in montreal.

everything went smoothly - officer asked me about my dad and what he does (as he is the sponsor), when i last saw him, how long i had been away from home, about my lost status, how i did not go back or try to enter the US until i resolved this visa issue.

i explained how i was doing AOS in the states when i lived there, and submitted my documents twice and was sent to do biometrics after I lost my status. i also showed him (via digital i-94) how i departed in 2017 and never attempted to return until i got the immigrant visa. he also asked if i wanted to opt out of F1 category - which has a longer waiting time - since my father is now a US citizen.

he acknowledged that it must've been really tough for me to have lived in the US my whole life and to not be able to go back for 4 years. and when he approved my visa, he said thanks for my patience  throughout this process. so much relief to finally be at the end of this journey and to have such a genuine, kind officer to be interviewed by.

i got my passport back with the visa on october 25, and got back to california this weekend and finally reunited with my family :)

appreciate all of you forum-goers helping and advising as we all go through this difficult processes. just wanted to give my update to convey some hope to others who are still waiting.

Congratulations, It is good to hear stories like this and I hope the process will speed up next year by the way my application is in Canada but I am currently living in South America.

  6. I am a F2B from Toronto my application is in Montreal. I was looking at the visa bulletin and it looks like it might take 1.5 to 2 years to get a final action on our case. The Wuhan virus did some changes to some cases by delaying the application for interviews. I have no family members in Canada I was born in Ecuador and I have my family in the US too, but so far I did not have any issues with immigration, I was able to see them before the government close the border and imposed quarantine.

    Hi,

Good to see this thread for a handful of us (feels like that) in this F2B category. I'll be adjusting my status and have already filed for I485 in Aug 2020 with fingerprints done in oct 2020 in SoCal. Now awaiting the final action date to be current as my PD is dec 2020. It seems some of you may be in the same boat and wondering of you also have same question or have an answer to it.

    1) I feel all eyes would be on next few visa bulletins and the progression rates but not sure if people are getting interview calls for those whose final action is current?

    2) Did anyone appear for the AOS interview recently and what was their experience?

    3) Any interview waivers due to current situation?

Thanks and I'll post as I find any relevant details..

Right now things are on hold due to the current pandemic you might expect longer waiting times and the changes of the administration, I recon that by mid Jan things will try to get back on track or at least that's what I am expecting.

  8. Hi

To give you an update, we are in the same boat I am a nationalized Canadian living in Woodbridge ON and  moving to Kansas MO to stay with my mom my PD is March 2017 but my file is in California, today my mom sent me a picture of my NOA with the approval so I guess that now I have to wait for the NVS to send the information or the date on the table.

PS: You should be getting your NOA soon and let me know if you get information on your end!

    Regards,

    David
