Maybe some hopeful news here - looks like today was a fantastic processing day, perhaps not for August filers but most certainly for those pre-2023. The 09-148 group had almost 600 approvals, which I've absolutely never seen before. Of course, this was dwarfed by the 09-19x groups having well over 1,000, but at least USCIS is turning back to the earlier filers.

Best wishes to everyone here; it can be frustrating to feel left behind, but if it's any consolation, the approvals here are largely selection bias as those who I've talked to off the forums haven't gotten anything at all, either.

Greetings all, July 2022 filer here.
I-485 was approved today with the "COA: CF1".
    According to this site,
    https://www.usimmigration.org/faq/what-are-the-green-card-category-codes
CF1 = valid marriage contract after entering as a fiance or fiancee of a U.S. citizen. Conditional.

A few things of note in our I-485 approval notice:

    1. No mention of interview.
    Assume the interview is waived?
We will wait and maybe call USCIS later next week to confirm no interview.

    2. "Prior to receiving your permanent resident card you may be required to report for biometrics processing (photo/fingerprint/signature). Please do not take any action at this time. If you are required to report for this processing, you will receive another notice advising you of the date, time and location to appear."
Since we already did one biometrics (2022-08), we may need another biometrics?
    We shall wait and see.

    3. The I-485 Approval notice was from National Benefits Center, Lee's Summit MO, and not from the Atlanta Field Office, even though we submitted the I-693 and the additional evidence of bona fides of marriage to the Atlanta FO. Our assigned receipt number starts with IOE*** after we sent in the AOS paperwork.
The approval process seems to be more distributed than linear?
So my hypothesis is that the AOS process may not be as sequential as before or like the K1 process where the case is forwarded from USCIS to NVC to consulate, and the case decision is made at the point in the linear process. AOS process may be more distributed like one office may collect the evidence or I-693, but another office may be doing the background check, and another office may determine the approval since the system is more centralized, which could explain why some cases get approved quickly and others not quickly?
I think this is what is meant by the IOE*** converted electronics filing, especially if interview is waived?

Our AOS was approved in 284 days, which is better than the 38.5 months estimate for the Atlanta Field Office.
But as conjectured, the field office processing model may be improving with the electronics filing conversion.

This is not about whether we were right to get the I-693, or we should have waited for the RFE.

This is about sharing our experience so others can make the best decision for themselves.
I certainly benefited from reading everyone's inputs.
Your best preparation to do the immigration process is to research, ask the right questions, share your experiences, and repeat.

So off to prepare for the ROC I-751...

Looks like filers in late August 2020 are getting their NOA2s. 👀 Haven’t heard of any September cases yet. We’re almost next!

Agree! I have been spending 2-3 weeks in a third country (Brazil) since my fiancé and I were able to be here (I am still blocked from entering the EU of course) - it’s amazing how much money the US loses having us living temporarily abroad, I am sure we are not the only ones! Good luck to you and those reading this post!

Looks like they received my paperwork and it shows a date of September 30 but I didn't receive NOA1 until October 5 so I'll consider myself in this subforum boat!! I'm happy to be two months in though I can't complain as I live abroad with my fiance!! I can't imagine you all that are apart!!!! Hoping things go smoothly and rapidly for those apart!

Congratulations. You have officially started your journey. We are seeing 7-8 months to NOA2 so keep busy and keep your expectations low, so disappointment does not set in.

Thanks for your suggestion but that's not what I meant.
We have paid for half of our process at RapidVisa already anyway so we will stick with them.

Welcome to the thread for October NOA1 filers. Let's get the unwelcome news out of the way. RapidVisa is not going to do anything you can't do yourself. Everything you need is here on VJ. We are a community that will help you self-file. So, if you haven't paid all your fees to RV I would suggest "firing" them as all they do is look over your paperwork and they aren't particularly good at do that. No guarantees that your work will be error free so why pay them. You're doing all the work. You can use the "search" box in the upper right-hand corner, and I was able to see many articles concerning RapidVisa here on VJ. It's an amazing tool to use. You'll get a better understanding of what I am speaking off. Of course, I understand you may have your own reasons to use them but I opine to give you a heads up just the same.

Ok. We can't say with any certainty when you will get processed. But the 6-8 months is pretty accurate. Most are under 7 months currently.

Also, we need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

    Thanks
