Hello! I passed my citizenship interview, office Milwaukee :) My husband was interviewed first, alone. We were not expecting that! Then they called me, my husband left the room, and did the relationship questions to approve my ROC. Then the civic test, reading and writing test, and N400 questions. I had 2 agents interviewing me, one was more like an observer. It went well even if my hands were sweating hahahaha. Now wait for my ceremony date on the mail. :)

BTW. For who was asking if the civic questions were selected by the agent or showed randomly... My interviewer told me the system had been stuck with the same questions all day long, that it typically changes in every interview, randomly.

My Oath ceremony was at 10AM in the Milwaukee Federal courthouse. We had 52 applicants from 27 countries! They lined the applicants up and we all had to check in with a couple people and turn in our green cards, then everyone had to enter the courtroom. So, the ceremony itself did not start until about 10:50. They had limited seating for the friends and families, and no one was allowed to stand, so they also had an "overflow room" where the rest of the guests could watch the ceremony live. My coworkers also watched the ceremony at work through the provided youtube link.

Everybody was given their certificates by an USCIS representative after the ceremony, but the 15 people who have changed their names (me included) did not get the name change certificate; we were told that those will be mailed out within 2-3 weeks.

We were pretty much done by 11:30. We stayed behind for a bit to take pictures in the courtroom and with the big American flag.

When I went to work the next day, my coworkers had my desk decorated with silly jokes about being an American and we had an office party with some donuts, an apple pie, a charcuterie board made out to look like an American flag, and some taco dip, obvs 😁 It was so touching! 😍

So exciting! CONGRATULATIONS! My interview is in Milwaukee next week, on the 22nd! Nervous...

I keep checking my application to make sure I didn't make any mistakes haha. Oh and another thing, i've seen some stories where people unknowingly and accidentally were REGISTERED TO VOTE when obtaining a new license at the DMV (I saw a case in California). So check any public voter registration database to make sure your name is not on it as it causes a big issue for N400 applications.

Good to know! I need to renew my license this year. Thanks!

  4. Hello everyone,

Hopefully we'll send our ROC package this month! I'm almost done, except that we're waiting to file taxes 2022. Also, I'm deciding on printing the relationship pictures on photo paper or regular paper, at home.

Entered the US as a K1 in 2020, married and filed AOS same year. My GC expires in 05/03.

Local office (and I don't know if during ROC it matters): Milwaukee, WI.

The I-129F requires ALL the beneficiary's children to be listed.  Not doing so would be misrepresentation.  Please advise that someone to always be truthful on immigration forms.  Listing a child on the petition form does not require that child to immigrate as well.

Yes, sorry if I'm not being clear... She will list her kids in her form, but she won't file/pay for their K2 visa. They won't immigrate with her: she wants to make K2 process for them after she enters United States, and that's what we were wondering about, if it's possible to start their K2 alone, and...

No.  It would have to be follow-to-join.

Depending on the age of the child at the time of marriage, the USC could petition as stepchild with I-130.  Would take a few years.

... I think this is the correct answer.

But if I remember correctly, aren't the immigrant's children all supposed to be listed on the petition, even if no plans to immigrate?

Thanks!!! Yes I guess they have to be listed. I'm asking for someone else that is going to file for K1 but CAN'T/WANT add K2 for now (less than 15 years old girls of previous marriage).

Yes.  The K2 should have been included on the I-129F petition.  The petitioner would have to initiate the visa process with the consulate (DS-160) within one year.

Maybe I didn't explain well. I meant: if possible not filing together in the same I-129F as K1, but petitioning the K2 child in a complete new process.
