I am about to submit my I-751 but I have a query about this question: Form I-751 - Part 1, Question 14 - Conditional Residence Expires on (mm/dd/yyyy) - What date should I put? View the details of my case/situation below...
Here's some background on my situation for context:
1. I arrived in the USA on my CR-1 December 19th 2020
2. The CR-1 expired May 25th 2021 (is this normal? as I hadn't been in the USA for even 1 year at this point)
3. My physical green card was not delivered and resulted in "Card Destroyed" status. I then filed an I-90 for replacement card (which is still in progress).
4. I got a temporary I-551 stamp from USCIS in Nov 2021 which expired Oct 2022 (this month)
5. I got a second temporary I-551 stamp this month which is valid for 1 year (until Oct 2023)
Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Owen

Was I-90 ever filed?
Was an I-551 stamp ever obtained?
Yes, we filed the I-90 and we still have not received the replacement card after over a year. We do have the I-551 stamp as well but that is expired now.

You are a conditional legal permanent resident, you are REQUIRED to file to remove the conditions on your LPR. You are not renewing a green card, you are removing the conditions on your green card. If you do not file an i751 within 90 days of the second anniversary of the start of the LPR (the date AOS was approved or the date you enter the USA on a CR1 visa) you will lose your LPR status eventually.
File the i751 even if you don’t have the physical green card do not delay.
If you don't have the replacement green card in hand I would submit a copy of your i90 receipt notice assuming you file for your replacement green card, a copy of your AOS approval (if you got GC in the USA) or a copy of your CRI visa with proof of your entry date (if you got green card when entering USA).
Explain the situation in your cover letter when you file your i751.
Thank you for the advice!

I would put a short letter on top outlining the info provided and state there that the green card was never received. They can verify in their own records that the green card was never received. It could even help if that reviewer sees it’s been hung up a long time to move it to being produced.
Thank you! When we spoke to someone at USCIS - they stated the wait time for a GC is 2 years, I hope this isn't true

Hi everyone!
Hope all is well. I would appreciate any help/advice I can get as we are STILL going through the headache of getting a green card for my husband.
We are currently starting the process of filing an I-751 for my husband but we do not have a copy of his green card as he never received it. How should we go about this since they require the copy?
Backstory: We were approved for the 2 year green card but it was lost in mail and was destroyed so we never received it. We went through the process of filing for a replacement card and have been waiting for almost 2 years and it still shows its in process- but it will be expired before we even get it, so that is why we are filing for I-751.
I know I am probably not using correct terminology, but I hope it all makes sense. I would really appreciate any advice at all! Thank you guys

Hey guys, currently running into some problems with receiving my green card.
I checked the status of receiving my green card here: https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/mycasestatus.do
The status was 'Your card has been destroyed' (see image attached). The address I had it originally sent to was my friends legitimate address because at the time of filing we were in the process of moving and did not want to have card mailed to old address since we had no idea when it would be mailed. But for some reason they said it was wrong address, even though that is my friend's correct address - she has been there for 6 years.
After finding this out, we updated our address as they recommended, but have not heard anything back from them - its been 2 weeks. Is there anything else we need to do to ensure they mail out a new card? I just don't know if updating the address will automatically trigger them to mail a new card? I have tried several times to contact someone at USCIS on phone, but am not able to speak to a live representative.
I haven't heard anything back from USCIC yet. What do you guys suggest I do next?
Thanks
Owen

Congrats. Do a chargeback against Spiritless Airlines for the rest of your ticket value.
As an executive platinum on AA I am disappointed their ground crew in Cancun is so under educated. But a credit to AA that they called CBP.
Thank you! Definitely calling Spirit Airlines tomorrow. We usually fly AA, but they didn’t have any decent flying times to Cancun. Lesson learned, but I highly doubt we will be traveling again until my husband gets his physical green card.

Hey everyone! So sorry for the late reply, it’s been hectic and extremely stressful. After going back and forth with Spirit, we gave up and went to American Airlines, where we encountered the same issue (they never seen the CR1 endorsement) but they called in to Miami and after what seemed like forever, they let us book a flight to Dallas. We boarded the flight, got to Dallas but could not land due to severe storms and were diverted to Houston after sitting on the runway for over an hour. The anxiety was so bad. But we got through customs with no issue. Thank you all SOOOO MUCH for all the help. It is so greatly appreciated and we are so thankful for this community for always getting us through some very difficult times during our visa journey.

@Kitta&Owen try calling Spirit Airlines customer service and escalate the call.
This is unbelievable. It should not be happening.
They are on the phone with CBP in Miami. They sent photos and we are waiting for the response. But everyone is making this seem like it is not legit his endorsement

Ok plan B. He is from the UK right?
Get an ESTA. Sometimes they are instant.
When he lands in the USA, he should present his passport and identify himself as a green card holder.
Note to self: never ever fly Spirit Airlines.
Plan C : fly American Airlines home.
Plan D is fly to Juarez now. Walk into El Paso. Then do a credit card charge back on your Spirit Airlines ticket. Then fly from ELP to DFW on American Airlines.
It is a waste of time to go to the embassy. The airline wants him to get a Lincoln Boarding Foil. The embassy isn't going to give him one because he had a valid I-551. And those cost hundreds of dollars anyway. Spend your money on a different plane ticket to DFW, either through Juarez / ELP or non stop to DFW.
You had me at "just go to another airline".
Spirit. Good lord.
We are at the American Airlines now and they are giving us the same issue

They are incorrect. Is there a US embassy liaison there at the airport?
No there is not. We have showed them everything and they refuse to try and even understand or read any of the information. They are forcing us to the US embassy and they aren’t open until tomorrow
15 minutes ago, Mike E said:Airlines don't care what USCIS has to say. This is the regulation airlines need to follow:
It’s spirit airlines and the supervisor refuses to listen or read anything because we do not have my husband’s physical green card

Get a supervisor.....the endorsed visa is the same as a green card.
Yes, the supervisor came and is the one that told us that we needed to go to the US embassy

It is now past May 2021. His endorsed I-551 has expired.
He will need to fly to Juarez (or nay other border city), take a taxi to the US CBP border check point and walk into the USA.
Also in
you told us he entered December 2020. We cannot help you if you don't provide consistent info.
Sorry we’re at the airport and I’m just very flustered. My mistake. Thank you for taking the time to help us. Thoughts on what to do next?

Sorry. Wrong date. I meant December 2020 is when he entered the USA.

Yes exactly. But they said the endorsement is not enough. They said he needs physical green card in which we do not have yet

Why are they not letting him in. ? Are you attempting entering at a land crossing ? What is the CBP officer saying ?
No we are trying to get home from Cancun flying to Dallas. The ticket agent said we needed to go to US Embassy because he does not have a physical green card. Even though we showed her everything.

When did your husband enter US initially? What is the date on the stamp?
May 2020 is when he entered US
5 minutes ago, Lil bear said:Please don’t start another thread with the same question. Who is refusing him ? The airline agent or a CBP officer at US POE?
Has his GC been produced but you were out of the country try before it arrived ?
Airline agent refused him. They said they contacted someone in US and they are refusing him and that he needs to go to US embassy because his paperwork is denied

Visa expiration and validity at entry are two different things.
“Visa” expired when he entered. He is an LPR as of entry date and the visa serves as temporary proof of LPR status for one year after entry.
Did you pay the green card fee either before or after he entered?
PLEASE HELP!!
they are not letting my husband back into USA. We are stuck in Mexico. He does not have physical green card yet, but the CR1 stamp is still good. What do we do?!
On 5/5/2021 at 2:21 PM, Lucky Cat said:Are you talking about the visa, itself? or the endorsement stamp he received at the POE in the US?
The officer should have stamped his visa to endorse it when he entered the US.....that stamp is a temporary Green Card which should be good for a year.

The visa itself was voided when he entered the US. You can disregard it. However, the officer should have stamped his passport (usually near the visa). That stamp endorses his visa.....and serves as a Green Card until the plastic one arrives. It has all benefits as a plastic Green Card. He is good to travel...
Okay perfect that sounds good. I have attached a photo of the stamp, can you confirm this is the correct one? Thank you!
