Hey friend,
Like yourself I’m also a Canadian native just had my biometrics today and recently got my rfe putting everything together slowly but surely. Can you please let me know where you got your school documents evaluated? My university transcripts are being sent to me however, is my HS transcripts really necessary? That is proving to be a little difficult since I went to a private school in Ontario and they are currently closed 🤦🏾♀️
Also can you tell me what you included in your supporting documents. Did you have a Canadian credit check done?
Please if you can give me any advice and or directions I’d be really thankful. This document has really proven to be such a headache.
Also does anyone know if my AP will still be processed as I wait for my AOS and send in my RFE.
Anyways, thank you for your time in advance.
And no, you don't need your Canadian credit score. That's irrelevant to the US

Hi - happy to help where I can.
I used Fis-Web which I got off NACES. I've recommended it to a few people and they liked it, too. $100 for 2 week turnaround. I also didn't have my HS transcript, but my attorney pressed me to get a copy ASAP as it shows english classes were taken for 4 years, which is a requirement of the 944. I know some studied English in their post secondary studies, but I did not so HS was important to show. I contacted my school board and they were able to email me a PDF next day, even mailed a hard copy with the seal on it, too. A lot of schools are closed, but are working remote. Contact the guidance department of the school. Hopefully they can help.
As for what's required, it's a lot. Did you get a chance to look at the i-944 instructions? In short, you need tax transcripts (yours and spouse's), assets, debt, your US credit report, your US credit score, proof of health insurance (coverage length date and details.. copays etc etc.), education and education evaluation if it's outside of the US.
For AP, it shouldn't delay while you work on your RFE, but don't quote me on that. I'm still waiting for my AP to be approved, but my biometrics is early Feb, so it makes sense.

So, online my case has update to an RFE, which I am assuming is for the I944 I did not have to send in at the time.
So I have a question about the school diplomas/transcripts. Since Canada is basically the same type of schooling as the US, do you really think it's needed to pay to get them evaluated? Couldn't I just send them in as is?
Not only that, but Biden plans on reversing the public charge anyway. So by the time they get it back, and look at my case again, it prob won't even matter. And if so, then they could just send another RFE, it won't matter as much since AOS takes forever anyway.
Also my PD is Sept 24, still no sight of biometrics, I called uscis, and they're just saying it's cause of covid. Maybe my state is just slow.
Hi. Canadian native here. Yes, any education that was completed outside of the US must have an evaluation to show that it is the equivalent of an American education (including Canada)… “Foreign education should include an evaluation of equivalency to education or degrees acquired at accredited colleges, universities, or educational institutions in the United States”.
As for the reversal of the public charge, Biden has not removed it (yet). Unless you are willing to halt your application and wait to see what he does (which will delay your case), I would prepare the evaluation if you plan on sending soon. Or, like you said, just send as is and see what happens... I get where you’re coming from. I paid for my evaluation, attorney is reviewing all 944 documents and we’re hoping to send by EOW. In the end, our 944 package might not even be looked at, which is a waste of the time and money for all of us. Until anything is confirmed, we plan to act accordingly to what’s required currently.
I know Biden signed 17 executive orders today, some of which included immigration related issues. I do not believe any were based on the public charge rule.

Posted this in our WhatsApp group yesterday, but figured I'd share on VJ, as well:
Hi guys. Spoke to an agent today to see if my biometrics was scheduled. I’ve noticed some folks are first finding out about their appointment by mail. Online accounts aren’t being updated. Sure enough the agent said an appointment was scheduled and mailed out on 1/15.
Before that I spoke to a Tier 2 officer (btw they don’t schedule biometrics anymore) who advised that biometrics are scheduled on Fridays, so call/Emma to see if it’s scheduled on Monday’s. For reference my PD 9/21/20... ASC NYC.. AOS through marriage.
I've received 944 RFE in Dec. Our attorney is reviewing all docs, but hoping to ship out by this weekend.
I know some (who filed even before my PD) are still waiting for biometrics/RFEs etc...patience is everything in this journey, but they will come.

Pd 9/11 and nothing here.
They’re definitely moving at a slower pace and many are in the same boat, so dont feel like it’s only your case . If you didn’t file with I-944, you’ll likely get an RFE soon, many of us already have. Or, there’s the chance you could get lucky and not get one. In terms of biometrics, I believe from this thread and our WhatsApp group, many are still waiting including myself (PD 9/21). With the holidays and all, I wasn’t banking on getting an appt. Some August filers have yet to receive biometrics, too. Hopefully better news for all of us in 2021!

Wow that’s my PD Sept 21 I just checked and still no update I don’t want that RFE and I did not submit I-944 maybe If they give me Bio first then I’ll accept the RFE lol.
I just want the EAD to get started 2020 was stressful
I hear you. I know we have the same PD @Tropical_Man, so I think you will be seeing some movement very soon. I didn’t think they would send me an email update, but it seems like for RFE you’ll get a heads up. For biometrics, I’m seeing that people are initially finding out about their appointment by mail, no online update. Nonetheless, hang in there

Hi guys,
I also received RFE today, assuming it’s for I-944. Luckily, I gathered all documents needed when the injunction was overthrown months ago. Sent off to our lawyer for review. For those still waiting for some sort of movement, hang in there. Our PD date was 9/21/20... we just got RFE today and still NO biometrics.

So I guess it’s safe to say Sept filers are now getting biometrics
Let’s hope so, nothing on my end.

So I have noticed a pattern with applications from Aug and Sept filers.
NOTE: No case is treated the same. I am only speculating.
Some August filers are receiving Biometrics, and I-944, while some concurrently. It seems like USCIS is confused on that form I-944 due to the multiple court injunctions that has taken place.
There was a case where immediately after biometrics was taken the status changed to Card Being Produced (This case did not submit I-944 and may still get RFE)
September filers, from multiple accounts it seems USCIS is prioritizing K-1 applicants and possibly other groups except AOS, and they have been issued biometrics appointment letters, while a few other sept filers have received RFE.
But a large majority have ONLY received RECEIPTS and are patiently waiting for BIOMETRICS or any UPDATE (RFE). The wait seems to be closer, as Aug filers have began receiving all three notices (RFE, BIOMETRICS & CARD BEING PRODUCED) so my final take on this, is we wait a little patiently and by January we should get our updates or even before the end of this year.
Have a lovely week ahead.
I am noticing the same trend, too. I have a friend who filed end of July and just received her biometrics appointment a few weeks ago (through marriage and actually scheduled for today). Also another filer (through marriage) in early August who has yet to receive biometrics or any update. They say AOS is not for the impatient . Like you said, hopefully by EOY or Jan we will receive some sort of movement... The wait continues.

Hello. I'm a September AOS Filer. And this is my Updated timeline. (K1 and K2)
Filed I-485/I-767/I-131/with affidavit of support.
9-18-20 - AOS filed. Send via FedEx without I-944
9-21-20 - case received in Chicago lockbox
10-07-20 - received SMS from USCIS.6 SMS receipt numbers
10-13-20 - received in mails 6 NOA I -797C receipt notice
10-19-20 - received in mail 2 NOA for biometric appointment
11-10-20 - Biometric taken.
11-10-20 - case was updated that finger printing was taken for I-485 & I-767
Now is just a waiting game. It worries me about the RFE for I-944.
Hope everything went smoothly.
Wow, congrats!!! It really is the luck of the draw... I filed 9/14 and still no movement for biometrics (like many others that I’ve seen in this group). Keep us posted if you see more movement

So I originally filed back in September, but my first package got lost based on the tracking I received. We sent a 2nd package back in October and found out later that the USCIS did in fact received my first package. I put a stop payment on the first one so they wouldn't charge me twice in case they did eventually receive my first package (in which they did much later on).
Even after all that mailing nonsense and confusion, my wife still got a biometrics appointment on November 10th. After reading a lot of posts on this board, I guess we got very lucky. We did not submit an I-944 either, although, I made sure our paperwork was very well organized, clear, and wrote a very detailed Cover Page for each of my forms. I guess it depends on who's reviewing your documents. It's very possible we can get an RFE on the I-944 based on what I'm hearing, but nothing as of yet.
My next question is, how long does it take for the USCIS to schedule an interview with us after the biometrics has been approved? Anybody get to that part yet?
Wow, indeed lucky. Seems like most people here are waiting for biometrics LOL. I’m sure earlier month filers would have this info, though

How did you put in a service request to alert USCIS ?
I am still hopeful for a biometrics appointment
I called the 1-800 number and an agent helped me but you can easily do it online. It’s not letting me past the link here for some reason but Google USCIS E-REQUEST. Should be first link then click “did not receive notice by mail”. It will ask you for some details like receipt number etc. At the end it should give you a Case ID number. Takes about 20-30 days to hear back from the request.

Any September AOS filers received a biometrics notice yet?
Few group members said they got an RFE for I-944. Some are saying they have waited over 60 days and still nothing. I am over 30 days and put in a service request to alert USCIS, but still haven’t received anything. The waiting continues... 😣

Anyone filed in September 2020 has got biometric appointment letter? I filed on Sept/8/2020. 4 receipts is all what I have received so far! 😄
Still waiting, but I filed mid month. Spoke to an agent and it’s typically around 30 days from receiving NOA, but who knows. Have you called them!?

Coming up to a week now. I have done all the emailing around etc to the lockbox and USCIS but no reply.
Everyone’s case is different, but from what I’ve seen on VisaJourney it can take anywhere from a few of days to two weeks (or longer) before texts are received. For us, personal checks were taken out on 10/4. Texts received 10/6. Physical NOA received in mail on 10/14. I’d give it another week. In the meantime, it doesn’t hurt to keep reaching out to them... I would if I were you.

K1 filing for AOS.
How long has it been?

I got an NOA of rejection on my I-765 today because I used the outdated form.
I've gotten no other notices so far on my entire package. I feel like everyone else is faster than I am because I was Sept 11th reception date but October 10 NOA letter date.
I'm also expecting a i944 RFE. I wonder if I should try and resubmit I-765 together with my I944 or separately.
I would send the i765 in ASAP because we don’t know when you will receive i944 RFE. Could be a while, I would not wait. Weird you only got NOA on i765 and nothing for i485? Pretty sure you re-send the updated i765 with i485 receipt so you don’t need to pay the fee... maybe someone can provide insight on this.

check cashes on - 09/29/2020
confirmation message on- 09/30/2020
still waiting for the approval 😌 anyone received an approval for September filers?
If you mean NOA in mail, it took us 1 week from when we received our text messages.
10/6/20 - received texts (i130/i485/i765/i131)
10/14/20 - received 4 separate letters in mail (i130/i485/i765/i131)

Hi guys! I updated in our WhatsApp group, but wanted to share on VJ in case not everyone is on there.
Our I-485 was scheduled for interview today. PD date 9/21. AOS through marriage. NYC, but moved to Indianapolis field office couple weeks ago.
Update the past few days:
2/19 our EAD updated to new card being produced // I-485 updated to case is ready to be scheduled for interview
2/22 EAD/AP changed to case was approved // I-485 changed to Interview was scheduled
Was not expecting this kind of movement on our case, especially because it took 5 months for biometrics.
I definitely think it's because we are no longer in NYC lol. Who knows...
