  1. I see. Thanks for updating us on what you learned. That's good information. Well I guess you can look forward to an interview invite in the near future.
  2. It's the I-193 fee. Actually $695. It is a waiver for not having a valid green card in possession when entering. Like I said, there is a provision for CBP to apply this, and make you file the I-193, but in practice they don't, because they can see on the system that your 1-751 is approved, and you have valid status and most conclude it is not your fault you haven't received the card yet.
  3. Like others have said, no one knows... The burden now is technically on the applicant to provide evidence of good moral character, not just the absence of anything negative. I have an interview on October 8 and my plan is to take with me evidence of good moral character, such as evidence of gainful employment, social ties in the community, gifts/ donations made, care-taking role for sick family members, continuing education, career advancement etc. I don't intend to produce it unless asked though.
  4. Oh wow! Wonder if it is a permanent change of venue or this is a special ceremony. Looking forward to hearing how it goes. Congratulations again.
  5. Congratulations! I've been following your case as we share the same FO. I was hoping we would have the same oath ceremony lol, but my interview is on October 8. Do let us know how your ceremony goes. Do you know the venue yet? Is is the Warren B Rudman US Courthouse at 55 Pleasant St in Concord?
  6. Unfortunately the fact that it says DEN here doesn't necessarily mean it is at the local field office, just that DEN is the intended field office. Mine showed MAN even when it was at NBC. But I am optimistic yours has actually moved to DEN. You can chat with live agent on USCIS website and ask. Often they just say NBC, but ask a few agents until someone actually checks and tells you.
  7. It is so interesting that it was updated on your 5 year anniversary. I think it is merely a coincidence, but I can't be sure. In any case, since this update was so much after your submission and there is no event associated with that date, I do think it is likely the date your file moved to field office. I think you might get interview scheduled very soon. FYI the IAF event is the receipt letter being sent and FTA0 is the security checks from biometrics.
  8. Events are listed later in the notes. in any case, since this update was 3 months ago and you haven’t received interview, it is unlikely that it coincided with your file moving to field office as people generally get the interview soon after that happens. I willing to bet your case is still at NBC.
  9. I see. Do you see any associated event in your JSON for May 19? For example one with event code FA01? If you could copy paste the full notes (censoring identifying info), that would be easier to interpret.
  10. Last action on your case was on May 19. If you applied on that day or a few days before, that is likely the background check. Your file is likely still at NBC.
  11. Not sure what you are asking. Cases always get transferred from NVC to embassy without any action from the applicant. This is normal. Are you saying it got transferred to the wrong embassy? Regarding scheduling of appointment, most consulates do that on their own. When cases are transferred from NVC to them, they are put in a queue. They then send interview invite in chronological order. Most consulates have a multiple month wait (some more than a year). You don’t book the appointment. In a select few consulates you do have to book it yourself, but you would informed by email, that you would have to do that. Your timeline here is a bit confusing, but if your embassy is Ghana, they you don’t book the appointment, the consulate schedules it.
  12. Two chances is to pass the history and civics test, which I understand OP passed this time. I think the third interview is to continue to the security questions.
  13. Not a lawyer, but from what I know, the court disposition seems to be the issue here. Depending on the outcome of the disposition which is unknown from your post, it could make you ineligible for citizenship. Additionally with the additional discretion granted to officers related to Good Moral Character (GMC) from August 19 change to policy manual, a fight in you past could be regarded as a mark against GMC and lead to a denial. I think the officer wants to review your case with superior, and if they can overlook the charge/ disposition, they will call you for another interview to ask the security questions. If not, I think they might deny the case. Hopefully you have a favourable outcome. Good luck!
  14. If you see an updated at date that is not associated with anything else such as security check, and the date is well after you submitted, then yes that usually means your file moved to local office. You can copy paste what you see on JSON here (removing receipt numbers and any other identifiers) and I can tell you what I can interpret.
  15. May also help to support the new GMC requirement (care-giver), IF it should come up, but unlikely it will.
  16. I hadn't realised that, That is certainly a change. Happy to see the improvement. This is very true. I interviewed at Montreal and heard of MANY cases in the black hole for months, just because one minor document was missing, so I was paranoid and was hyper prepared for my interview, taking with me any and every document they could possibly ask me for.
  17. I concur. Manila is by far the slowest consulate out there, and you don't want to be delayed any longer. If the consular officer decides your 2024 income is not sufficient, and asks for a joint sponsor, and she does not have that ready at the interview, she would have to go home, get the documents for cosponsor ready and mail to the consulate, and they can take months to review it and issue a decision. I know you have until April, but such things can make your file fall into a black hole where it is sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting to be looked at. I wouldn't take the chance, and have a co-sponsor ready BEFORE the interview. Don't have to submit it unless asked. Others here, who may be more experienced do think you will be ok without cosponsor, but my philosophy is to always cater for all scenarios in a case such as an CR1/IR1 interview, where a small deficiency can cause HUGE delays. Good luck whatever route you choose to take.
  18. Montreal advised, in my case I should register in the name of my valid passport. My valid passport was in my married name, so I registered in my married name. If your situation is in anyway different from mine, I would advise you reach out to the consulate to confirm what you should do. They do take a while to respond, so it's a bit nerve wracking. Hope you have time to sort it out before your interview. Good luck with your interview.
  19. I followed the instruction received from Montreal consulate and everything went well.
  20. Like others have confirmed, this is NBC address and is normal as all cases first get sent to NBC. You cannot really know if your case has moved to local office until you get your interview letter. However you can chat with live agent on USCIS website and ask. They often are lazy and answer it is at NBC even if it has moved to local office. Ask a few of them until you find someone who actually digs down and checks. It may still very well be at NBC. Another way to check is from your API / JSON notes. Log in to your USCIS account. Then in separate tab of same browser put in https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/cases/xxxxxxxxxxxx (fill in your receipt number instead of Xs). If the update at timestamp is the same as your date of application or a few days after, your case is still at NBC. If it is more recent then that, and not associated with any otehr activity such as biometrics, it would indicate it probably moved to local office.
  21. Some people say this means there has been some movement in your case at the back end. Possibly your file moving from NVC to local office. People have reported an update such as interview notice within 1 to 2 weeks of such an increase of timeline. Have you ever lived in Missouri?
  22. Ideal Outcome! So close to finish line. Congratulations!
  23. Thanks for that confirmation. So interesting about the naming conventions in Sweden.
  24. Congratulations! Nice and quick processing, and same-day oath too! Did they address anything the new Good Moral Character requirements during the interview?
