  1. Not a lawyer, but from what I know, the court disposition seems to be the issue here. Depending on the outcome of the disposition which is unknown from your post, it could make you ineligible for citizenship. Additionally with the additional discretion granted to officers related to Good Moral Character (GMC) from August 19 change to policy manual, a fight in you past could be regarded as a mark against GMC and lead to a denial. I think the officer wants to review your case with superior, and if they can overlook the charge/ disposition, they will call you for another interview to ask the security questions. If not, I think they might deny the case. Hopefully you have a favourable outcome. Good luck!
  2. If you see an updated at date that is not associated with anything else such as security check, and the date is well after you submitted, then yes that usually means your file moved to local office. You can copy paste what you see on JSON here (removing receipt numbers and any other identifiers) and I can tell you what I can interpret.
  3. May also help to support the new GMC requirement (care-giver), IF it should come up, but unlikely it will.
  4. I hadn't realised that, That is certainly a change. Happy to see the improvement. This is very true. I interviewed at Montreal and heard of MANY cases in the black hole for months, just because one minor document was missing, so I was paranoid and was hyper prepared for my interview, taking with me any and every document they could possibly ask me for.
  5. I concur. Manila is by far the slowest consulate out there, and you don't want to be delayed any longer. If the consular officer decides your 2024 income is not sufficient, and asks for a joint sponsor, and she does not have that ready at the interview, she would have to go home, get the documents for cosponsor ready and mail to the consulate, and they can take months to review it and issue a decision. I know you have until April, but such things can make your file fall into a black hole where it is sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting to be looked at. I wouldn't take the chance, and have a co-sponsor ready BEFORE the interview. Don't have to submit it unless asked. Others here, who may be more experienced do think you will be ok without cosponsor, but my philosophy is to always cater for all scenarios in a case such as an CR1/IR1 interview, where a small deficiency can cause HUGE delays. Good luck whatever route you choose to take.
  6. Montreal advised, in my case I should register in the name of my valid passport. My valid passport was in my married name, so I registered in my married name. If your situation is in anyway different from mine, I would advise you reach out to the consulate to confirm what you should do. They do take a while to respond, so it's a bit nerve wracking. Hope you have time to sort it out before your interview. Good luck with your interview.
  7. I followed the instruction received from Montreal consulate and everything went well.
  8. Like others have confirmed, this is NBC address and is normal as all cases first get sent to NBC. You cannot really know if your case has moved to local office until you get your interview letter. However you can chat with live agent on USCIS website and ask. They often are lazy and answer it is at NBC even if it has moved to local office. Ask a few of them until you find someone who actually digs down and checks. It may still very well be at NBC. Another way to check is from your API / JSON notes. Log in to your USCIS account. Then in separate tab of same browser put in https://my.uscis.gov/account/case-service/api/cases/xxxxxxxxxxxx (fill in your receipt number instead of Xs). If the update at timestamp is the same as your date of application or a few days after, your case is still at NBC. If it is more recent then that, and not associated with any otehr activity such as biometrics, it would indicate it probably moved to local office.
  9. Some people say this means there has been some movement in your case at the back end. Possibly your file moving from NVC to local office. People have reported an update such as interview notice within 1 to 2 weeks of such an increase of timeline. Have you ever lived in Missouri?
  10. Ideal Outcome! So close to finish line. Congratulations!
  11. Thanks for that confirmation. So interesting about the naming conventions in Sweden.
  12. Congratulations! Nice and quick processing, and same-day oath too! Did they address anything the new Good Moral Character requirements during the interview?
  13. Wait, they normally put the whole middle name on the card? They only put an initial for me for my middle name. The total characters is just over 18 (20 with spaces). The reverse of the card does spell out the whole middle name. Is this a problem at all?
  14. In my opinion, (with the limited information we have as of now), the existence of the kids and your pregnancy is a big proof of your care-giving role, which according to the memo counts towards Good Moral Character (GMC). Carry their birth certificates if you aren't already. Your doctor visits for the pregnancy. Perhaps some evidence of children's doctor's visits, parent-teacher meetings, birthday parties you organised etc. It is kind of self-evident, but anything you can think of that emphasises how you have been a good parent. If you are married, and stay-at-home, you are probably taking care of your spouse too. Think of evidence you can take for that. Perhaps texts showing how you plan meals, taking care of them when they are ill etc. You might also be extending care to in-laws or even friends. They are also looking for community involvement and assimilation, so if you have a friend's circle that you meet regularly you can include that. Maybe you gifted money to friend's who had a baby or contributed to a go-fund-me for some friend's surgery. I would take some time over the weekend to think about all that, and list them down, even if there is no evidence, so you can speak to it if required. I have an affidavit from my mother-in-law that I included in my original submission, and it mostly outlined how she has witnessed my husband and I having a genuine, loving marriage, but it also described how I have been involved in the family, attending events, helping out, and taking care of her when she was sick, and had surgery. Perhaps you can think of some people in your life that could write such affidavits for you, even if there is no time to get it notarised? I'm sorry this is so last-minute for you, with the memo coming days before your interview. In all probability it won't even come up in the interview as I imagine it will take some time to figure out how to interview for this. But just do the best you can to get some pointers ready in your mind for why you would qualify as someone with GMC.
  15. Yes, the new memo was released on August 19. It does apply to current cases, even if filed before August 19. It is yet to be clear how the officers will be adjudicating this. My interview is in about 6 weeks, and I intend to take some additional evidence with me taking cue of what they are looking for from the memo. For example - evidence of gainful employment, advancing education, care-giving of family members etc. I will take it with me, but won't produce it unless asked.
  16. Congratulations! And what a blessing to have same day oath. Enjoy the freedom
  17. Thanks. No, my i751 got approved early 2024.
  18. Got notification of interview scheduled at Manchester FO - Oct 8.
  19. Adding on @matea, you would also provide info of baby in DS-260 that you will be filing at NVC stage.
  20. I appreciate the reality check lol. Yes, I know, I need to be patient.
  21. Same dude. I submitted a bit after you (June 5), but yet to see any progress. Hang in there!
  22. Not gonna lie guys, I'm getting a little impatient. Was expecting to have received the interview date by now. I know it's barely been 2 months, and it takes time, but feeling a bit anxious... Hopefully we all get interview letters by end of August.
  23. Congratulations! That's a HUGE relief. Just so you know though, we have had people here before on NEXUS who still were stuck with DS5535 for more than a year, so unfortunately having NEXUS does not necessarily mean you won't be flagged.
  24. Ah OK, so looks like they do use the last photo they have of yours from biometrics. Thanks for clearing that up.
