Does anyone know if I can just take my wife's US passport to my N400 interview as proof of her naturalisation? It asks for certificate of citizenship so wondering if the passport will be fine.

    Thanks

Look at this checklist, there is your answer 😊

My I-751 is pending since November 2019. Awaiting interview since March 2021. If I reach to the senator will they speed up my case or just say to wait? Wi they give me a date for an interview? Anybody has an experience with congressional liaison?

They will write an email to your service center on your behalf. If you give them valid arguments, they may ask to get you expedited but not necessarily. The service center may or may not look closer into your application. It's not guaranteed! It may help and there is no harm in doing so! You are waiting for a very long time!

    thanks for the tip.

what are they best ways to do this? just calling customer service and complaining?

Ask them if they see any irregularities in your case, especially if other "nearby cases" around you are progressing. Ask if they see any activity on your file... basically make sure that you case is being looked at. I experienced a lot of unfriendly agents but eventually I got one or two which were helpful and my case got back on track and my pain is over.

Can you please explain what you mean by "derailed'

and how you fixed it? you called uscis customer service and ask for tier 2 officer and said what?

    thanks

My case was stalling for a long time, I kept learning bits and pieces" why" - libe agents, officers - I kept asking why surrounding cases are processed? Why my is untouched? How come that other cases are moving forward since they claim that it is happening in order and so on so that. I guess they finally got tired of me 😅

hi folks, i filed n400 12 montsh ago and my i751(waiver) has been pending since july 2020.

my i751 never got transferred after filing n400.

last update for both is "fingerprints taken"

is anyone in similar situation? i'm worried that my case got forgotten because it is never transferred. i see almost everyone's case gets transferred after filing n400 but mine didn't.

    appreciate any feedback

My case got completely derailed. I started calling them once a month and demanding a call with an officer and then asking if my case is "active". It finally put my case back on track...

I will be receiving the interview letter with the interview date soon. I filed for removal last june/july. USCIS online status showed that "interviewed was schedule" on 3/1/22. Any idea when the interview will usually take place? I'm so anxious as I have to adjust my work schedule last minute. any input will be great. Thank you!

Chat with Emma and request live agent or just call USCIS hotline- they will tell you the date.

    Y’all

I got my extension letter receipt starts with MSC

so my extension is only 24 months permanent resident card expires in April 22 2022

if GC takes longer than 24 months what do I do? Where do I need to go to extend my stay in us?

Call 60 days ahead to schedule a call with an officer, after 30 days you will get a call back and they will schedule you for an appointment to stamp your passport with an extra extension.

I filed for citizenship April 2021. Up until last month, it said that the remaining time was 3 months. I checked last week and it got extended to another 11 months.

Does anyone know how to go about contacting USCIS for an update?

You can talk/use chat with a live agent. Most likely you will hear that the system is not accurate and not to pay attention to it as it doesn't work as intended. Check processing times for your local office, they go by that...

I need to renew my work badge. In order to do it I need a valid green card or stamp i551.

Call and ask for a talk with an officer (second tier)  Keep calling until you will be able to talk with someone compassionate and knowledgeable.

And that's for an expedite criteria:

"Job loss may be sufficient to establish severe financial loss for a person, depending on the individual circumstances"

There is also an option to write a letter to your Field Office (not an usual route but since you have a pressing matter, then why not?)

Friends I need your advice.  If I drive to my field office in Miami will I be allowed to enter to get my i551 stamp? Anybody ever tried to enter without appointment? Uscis refuses appoitment due to lack of slots and I'm facing losing my job!

    It qualifies as an expedite.

Write to your Congressperson, it's just an email that they forward to the Field Office,it takes around 2 weeks to get an answer - you may have a better chance that way.

Same. Been ready for interview for 160 days now here in Orlando. Knowing my luck, they'll try schedule the interview for May when I'm on a cruise in Alaska.

I have been "ready for interview" for a year (they also took liberty to "adjust" my "ready for interview" date to 6 months later. They scheduled an interview, they cancelled....

Anyway, if your files didn't stuck in the caves of National Archives, you should hear from them soon!

    Quick question guys,

How long does it take to receive the letter for the interview after the status change online ? And why dont they mention the interview date on the online status ?  arghhh.

Almost my pants reading the first line thinking the date already passed. "On January 27, 2022, we scheduled an interview..." LOL

    A out 10 days-2 weeks.

You can call them or ask a live agent on chat and they will tell you the date before your letter arrives.

    Hello everyone,

My case is ready to be scheduled for an interview since March 2020 right before the restricted movement. The status has not changed since then. I'll be 2 years this March. My local office is in Fairfax Virginia. Should I call them or just wait until they schedule the interview? Don't know if my case is more than the usual processing time no not.

There is no harm in asking. I was told yesterday that the waiting time nowadays is between 22-38 months.

Soooo my status changed to “interview was scheduled” on December 8

On December 20th I received a letter from USCIS with a new, 24 month extension notice but nothing about an interview.

The weird thing is…the date on that extension is 12/14…so 5 days after an apparent interview was scheduled.

I tried calling USCIS but was unable to get through…assuming it’s because of the holidays…

This is really frustrating…did they really schedule an interview or did they just accidentally update it when they sent out that extension?! Who knows.

    Any thoughts/ ideas are appreciated

Emma should be able to transfer you to the live chat. It's usually easier and they seem to be capable of giving you basic information (eg what is in the correspondence that they have sent to you)

The worst of the worst! I hate the system!! I know you must feel defeated but try again. Don’t settle for that answer. Call again and explain the situation. Just keep asking for a tier 2 officer. Keep calling until something shifts. There will always be one person who will listen. I’m sorry that this has happened especially after all the waiting! Everything will work out in the end… keep on pushing. I hope it gets figured out.

Thank you! I really needed it! I was completely disheartened and ready to give up.

I am happy you got the interview, but I understand about the wrong coast. We moved to the East coast 7 mths ago and I changed all the addresses and got all the confirmations. When they finally called for the Adit stamp appointment (only 2 days before the 30 days was up) they attempted to send us to Portland OR for the stamp, she said the system seemed to have defaulted to the original office even though everything was correct in the computer. Super frustrating that even when we follow the rules they still screw us up. Luckily she was able to change it to the correct city office. She said we should hear about the interview for N400 within 4-6mths because he is all set for that but they are waiting for the I751 department to catch up.....

    Good luck to you!

    Thank you!

I have happened to have a phone call scheduled with them (stamp 🙄🙄) and I got the rudest and unwilling person on the phone (I must be a magnet for those). She told me to write a letter to my local office and ask about rescheduling... basically she rerouted me to the least efficient solution to fix the problem that they caused.

I hope that you will not have to wait much longer, I am waiting for all of us!

I agree, we were told to call 60 days before for the interview which would be scheduled within 30 days. Well there is a week and a half of that left and then only 30 days till the NOA expires..... hate this waiting, it always feels personal.

I was finally scheduled for an interview

    BUT

    only for N-400

    AND unfortunately

I moved since applying for I-751 (did everything according to the book, put a new address in, called and verified that the change went through, got a confirmation via text and mail that address was changed)

so they scheduled me now on a different coast that I am residing currently.

I am so tired of being treated like a disposable, half human...I expect so little of them and they still manage to disappoint me.
