  1. Hey filling out the i-90 form and according to the instructions it says to fill out the text boxes in Part 8 with evidence, but you're recommending to write a letter instead, i would prefer that but just double checking thats what you did?
  2. This is the plan. Just submitted the typography correction form today, then will send out the card with i-90 form tomorrow
  3. Sorry if I came off hostile yesterday, appreciate your response.
  4. wish i had sooner about the deferred inspection! information is power. Jesus. But thanks for the info. will fill it out today.
  5. @Mike E @mindthegap @Allaboutwaiting Stupid question: Do you guys happen to know which form number to submit for the Typography submission? (https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request/displayTypoForm.do?entryPoint=init&sroPageType=typoError) I was thinking "i-90". I've been looking for what others did here, but can't really find any threads on this particular issue. PRO Tip for the rest of the community😂: Dodge a budget and DON'T fly to Seattle when coming to USA -- NONE of the officers there have ANY experience of issuing an IR-1 instead of a CR-1 if you were over 2 years married upon entry. I spoke to 3 officers, no one felt comfortable doing it. I've heard SFO is great for entry given the influx of immigrants that come from there.
  6. The current green card actually needs to be mailed with the i-90 form back. I verified this with USCIS support. But that's no issue for us anymore, we're OK with it.
  7. Hey Mike, top of the mornin'. Cheers for that typographic link, I am blown away that there are things like this. I linked her this thread and she's feeling better from reading some of the responses here. We'll fill out this typographic form and wait. If nothing happens, she wants to stick to her guns and file the i-90 and get a congressman involved.
  8. Arrived on Dec 28th, 2022. Married on Dec 26th, 2020. My wife had a pretty abusive experience with ICE in the past from overstaying her visa waiver program when she was just visiting here from Europe. They detained for several months. She prefers to do an interview for 751 than risk of being detained or questioned.
  9. Hello all, It's been a dreadful day. My wife has the option to: a. Correct CR-1 to IR-1 and file i-90 form. Takes up to 20 months or longer. b. Do the i-751 interview. we have been trying to weigh the pros and cons of each option. She's very paranoid about ICE so she's leaning towards doing the interview. She's been talking with ChatGPT and getting all sorts of wacko answers. So thought I would ask for the community's experience here.
  10. A lot of people that file i-90 cannot file online -- for instance my wife. No criminal record. Nada. But since USCIS made the error of giving her a CR1 visa, we must send back the CR-1 Card, suffer for about 20 months (minimum, or so I've heard for cases like these) to get that corrected, and constantly worry about renewing her i-551 stamps so she doesn't get detained by ICE for whatever reason.
  11. this is interesting.. Although anyone waiting 20 months is for reasons like administrative mistakes (getting a CR-1 accidentally when you should have gotten an IR-1). From my understanding, renewals tend to be fast. It's when Uncle sam makes a mistake that it takes a looong time.
  12. buddy i had to wait 2 and half years for my wife's cr-1 visa alone. i left my company, lost all my income and moved with her. i am back after 2 and half years starting from the ground barely getting back on my feet. you will be FINE. i promise
  13. can u share the user who had this? trying to look for the thread
  14. If anyone knows HOW to write a successful i-90 submission in this scenario please point me in the right direction (resources/links/threads). I am thinking of adding in the Section 216 clause which states: "Conversely, if the alien is not subject to the provisions of section 216 of the Act, but the visa classification endorsed on the immigrant visa indicates that the alien is subject thereto (e.g., if the second anniversary of the marriage upon which the immigrant visa is based occurred after the issuance of the visa and prior to the alien's application for admission) the endorsement on the visa shall be corrected and the alien shall be admitted as a lawful permanent resident without conditions, if otherwise admissible." thank you so much for sharing these.
  15. she might have found a glitch in the matrix cause that is a rare occasion
  16. okay... yeah im trying to get her to relax. she is losing it. thanks for the insights. she would technically need 2-3 stamps given how long it takes to arrive. hopefully will workout. will update this thread as any new developments arise
  17. i-551 stamp expires on Dec 2023. i-90 waiting time is till Dec 2025 at the very least. its all completely useless and rubbish.
  18. the system is broken. i-90 processing time is so lengthy that her card might expire while its still processing.
  19. UPDATE: Bad news. After 3 long months, they accidentally gave us a CR1 Visa which expires December 2024. My wife is anxious. Now calling uscis to try and fix this. Stuck on hold for over an hour. anyone know the best way of getting it corrected to IR1?
  20. Hey, nothing yet. We will probably have to wait 2 more months at least. usually takes 3 months for a green card to arrive
  21. Thank you, feeling more positive now 🙏 Does anyone kn The $220 fee? Yes paid that one many months ago
