Yes 6 months validity  from the stamp date but before that expires please enter in USA don't take risk after all that waiting in this journey.

I think it's not from the stamp date, I read that the term for the visa is from the expiration of the medical, which is 6 months. Even though my wife had her interview on the 31st her visa expiry is NOT based on the 31st, it's 6 months from the medical date, so please take that into account when traveling.

No my sister and her husband dont live with me so i believe it would go like this

    1. I fill out i864

    2. My sister or her spouse fills out i864, now who fills it out is my question does my sister with way higher income fill it out or her husband with lower income BUT he is the main tax filer and both filed together as "married jointly"

    3. Either way who ever fills out the i864, someone must still fill out the i864A, because i864A is always required if joint sponsor has a spouse.

Ah I see then it's best to make your sister who makes the most be the main sponsor and husband the additional

@podeena Or anyone else here who can help that would be great i have a question

my question is which spouse fills out the i864 if this is a joint sponsor. Would it be the main tax filer spouse who has lower income or the spose with higher income, who is NOT main tax filer and both these spouses filed IRS taxes as "Married Jointly". I believe it doesnt matter which spouse fills out the i864 because either way a i864A is needed and we can use other spouse income in the i864A.

Can anyone confirm if i am wrong or right? Thank you.

@Zs10102 If you need to use both of the their incomes to qualify then you'd need both of them to fill out a i864A form because one income is not enough. However, if you can just use the one that makes more money to qualify then just a single i865A should suffice (https://www.lawfirm4immigrants.com/joint-sponsor-i864-affidavit-of-support/#:~:text=What If the Additional Sponsor, his or her household member.)

Thanks for pointing that out. However when I try to choose a visa category I don't see CR2 as an option. I see IR2 but no option for CR2.

    options.png

You can probably default to IR2 in that case if since technically the priority/cohort is the same. This is used for delivery of your passport so not indicative of your case

For “Step 1: Register Online and Select a Document Pick-up Location”

There is no option for CR1/CR2 when selecting the visa type on the ustraveldocs website. Has anyone else experienced this/have any advise?

@gr8life it's not in the first step, it's at the end, see attached screenshot:

Guys question anyone who made FRC did how did you guys add a US born child to your FRC. Nadra In pakistan won’t add my son to our FRC until he is issued a Pakistani birth certificate and to get a Pakistani birth certificate we have to give them original US birth certificate. Any tips are appreciated

@gulkhan you can make your son a Pakistani NICOP, and with that they should show up under your FRC since they'll be part of the Nadra system. You can also email one of the consulates in the US about this and they can confirm this should be the case (I emailed nadrany@pakistanconsulateny.org  for my FRC issues and they were fairly responsive).

Mashallah Congrats!!! You'll be in AP for a couple of days and it will change to issued once they print it. If you have your passport delivered to a local office near you, you can track it via email by the email method stated here (https://www.ustraveldocs.com/pk/pk-niv-passporttrack.asp).

cause on Google map it says

The shuttle stop is located at Third Avenue near Quaid-e-Azam University Road, G-5 Islamabad. The Diplomatic Shuttle will transport you from the Diplomatic Shuttle Service Center to the Consular Section for a small fee.

Yes it's this one: https://maps.app.goo.gl/8asRTqA1J1cLfiZ59 This is the one that my wife went to for her interview. There will be a lot of people there who are also there for the interview, so it should be fine

no everything is closed how does she get ticket?

There should be counters where you queue up to purchase your ticket in the terminal, just tell the persons that it's for US embassy. Your interview is at 730, so it should be opening up at around 6 am

@podeena just wanted to make sure one more time does tax return or tax transcripts? Matter cause on the website when I went to my messages they were asking for tax transcripts from irs website? Or it should not matter just want to make sure before I upload again from website irs one

It should be tax transcript, I didn't upload my returns as returns can get super long, so the transcript should suffice. If you do have W2s though make sure to upload those.

My wife did alhumdulilah get the visa issued and picked up her passport on Saturday from lahore. So took ~a week to get.

@podeena @Machinecorpse62 @VisaNoob question guy. I did afadavit of support (i864) for my wife case at NVC (submitted 2020 IRS trasncripts) and it was approved. However now i have a child so my income is not enough for both of them. So i will need a joint sponsor, my sister will help me in this and her income is good so no issue. But the question is since my sister (joint sponsor) is married and filed jointly with her husband i have heard that her husband needs to fill out i864A, can you guys confirm this if my sisters husband needs to fill out form i864A or any other document. Please share your experience if you had same issue as me, thank you. My wifes interview is next month so we are just getting ready.

@Zs10102 from my understanding it should be the person that actually made the income. If your sister has some sort of income (e.g. W2, self employed, etc.). If your sister does not make any money it will show on the 1040 as 0 so the sponsor should be her husband in this case, but if she does and it passes the income threshold It should be fine.

I red all of your post you gave useful information regarding interview preparation but i have some objections about some of your comments relating Hijab, as far as my knowledge & experience is, Embassy personnel reject the picture who are modified Like applying some cosmetics filter on face through some studio photo editing softwares but they can’t object on a photo who is proper in hijaab and you have hijab statement unless it is edited as I mentioned earlier.

Advising people not to wear hijab just to come to USA is against our religion.

    Just for the Information,

These Americans people appreciate who follows their own cultures.

    Thanks

@Loading.... Just to for the record I by no means say take off your hijab for something as little as visa, my commentary was if you do have one just be prepared for it in regards to your visa 2x2 photograph (apologies if it came out the wrong way). A proper hijab is fine as long as the hairline is showing along with a paper stating that you are wearing it for religious purposes (https://ustraveldocs.com/id/id-niv-photoinfo.asp#:~:text=For applicants who wear a,or clothing obscuring the face.&text=Your photo must be square, the same as its width.) what's not fine is if you have a loosely put on dupatta (as my wife did) that's what will get rejected. I dont have a pic but just image putting on a scarf over your head lol.

@Machinecorpse62 my comment was in regards to the 2x2 photograph. Hijab is fine, I have no idea about burkha I think it's probably okay to enter the embassy, but the CO will probably ask to verify the identity. Also pretty sure a burkha will not work for the passport picture (if it did super easy to scam the entire process).

  13. @Machinecorpse62 Good luck to your wife on her interview, I'd recommend going to where the visa shuttle is the day before just get used to the location and just a heads up a line starts forming ~5 am in the parking lot so be sure to get there early. Also not sure if this was discussed please make sure your wife has a picture without any headscarf (dupatta) because a lot of folks my wife told me got theirs rejected (even with a signed statement saying they wear a headscarf), unless it's a proper hijab and is shown through out all of the documents. And not to overwhelm you here's some questions (has some duplicates so ignore them) that my wife and I have gathered over the past few months from different threads:

-How many times she have visited you till now ?

4.She asked me you live here and he lives in USA how you Guys met( I told her we’re first cousins then she checked the state and told me your marriage is legal where your husband lives but if you guys Wants to change the state in future you have to be careful.

These are just common questions that can be asked by the CO but prepare accordingly to your case you should know all the details as they just want to see if you know anything or not. Be confident at the interview don't be nervous everything will be fine inshallah.

did they look at chat logs etcc…

did they request any documents or look at the chat logs or pics logs

my wife said the only thing they took from her were the original documents for marriage and birth. The way she described it was that when she entered the embassy and got her token she submitted the originals for the marriage (nikkah Nama Urdu + translation, nadra marriage certificate, birth certificate, and FRC). After that she went to another window where the CO was, who was very nice. My wife wanted a translator due to just some apprehension, but the CO said her English was fine. She asked the same questions I mentioned above about me and what I do, and if this is both of ours first marriage. Said congrats and sent her on her merry way. My wife didn't even open her binder to give any thing for proof, the CO was just looking at her computer and the original docs mentioned above. I think the whole interview ordeal took like 6-7 minutes. They said that we should get our passport back within 1-2 weeks inshallah.

Yeah I uploaded almost everything, I read that there's no need for the bonafide stuff to be uploaded to ceac, so just taking it as a binder. Mostly uploaded the pertinent docs regarding marriage + finances. Next week is fast approaching Inshallah it goes well

@VisaNoobis your interview is on 31 I don't remember if yes then she have to login at that page of travel doc the website  is on IL and then put her info and passport # and email address pH # bc embassy sent the passport to that courrier site after interview then they contact you to pickup passport with visa  that is the way mostly and yes Pakistan address and you pick up from courier service or it mail to you I think courier is much safer and  this is all done B4 interview..🙏🏽

Yeah it's on the 31st and was just double checking everything. And yeah @Machinecorpse62 make sure your wife does fill out all the info. I already filled out everything in the update profile section @podeena, not sure if I need to schedule anything but dont see any upcoming visa appts on the profile
