Hi guys,
Just a quick little update, I flew into the US on the 8th had no issues.
The airports are a bit more busy than I would have expected. I traveled through a few airports to get to my final destination and everyone was social distancing and wearing masks as it was mandatory, made me feel a lot more comfortable with traveling.
 
I also want to take a quick moment to thank everyone here for all the support and help through this tough long journey, there were a lot of times I felt like giving up but all the help, motivation, information and community we have here has helped me push through. I can't wait for all of you  still waiting to feel a sense of relief and be home with your loved ones, don't give up keep push and soon you will have this all behind you.
 
 

I had my interview on the 07th! Hopefully they send yours soon! 

I also had my medical exam with Dr Rappaport! Her office works pretty fast, I had my exam on Friday the 9th and I received an email saying it was sent to the consulate on Tuesday the 13th so I'm expecting the consulate to pick it up any day now

Hi Chelsea! Botoole had his status change from refused to admin processing about 9 days after the medical. We had ours done on the 7th and 6 days later we received the email from the medical centre which means they have sent it to the consulate but our case hasn’t been updated yet. Hoping this will happen Monday? I’ll keep you updated.

🏥Warning long boring post about Medical🏥 
 
 
Had my medical in Sydney today just thought since I found it hard to find info on the medical and the info I did find was mostly horror stories about being examined in the nude I would share my experience.
I went with Dr Rapport one of the 2 doctors here in Sydney that are allowed to sign off on the visa medical. Highly recommend she was lovely.
She is located on George Street above the food court in what appears to be a  predominantly Japanese medical complex.
The nurse did urine collection first then checked BMI and blood pressure, eye sight test, I had to provide proof of vaccinations (I am overly organised and went to the GP a couple months ago and made sure I had all the vaccines up to date, there is one listed that is for children only, she said it’s surprising how many adults are paying for it when they don’t have to). 
Then time to see the Doctor she made me feel very comfortable asked me a ton of questions about my medical history do I do drugs, how often do I drink, past hospitalisations, do I want children, my situation with my husband, do I suffer from depression (standard things you would get asked in a yearly physical or in a low key psych interview) ect.
It reminded me of a tick box questionnaire you would fill out when visiting a GP you hadn’t seen before only verbal yes or no was required.
She then did the physical where I did not have to get nude (thank you Jesus) bra and jocks was sufficient I did some exercise like movements, she did some doctorly  pushing on my abdomen, she checked my reflexes, asked me to cough and we were done. 
She sent me to pathology for Syphillis and Ghonnorea (spelling?) blood tests (fun fact if you have ever had syphillis it will show up-I haven’t so I’m unsure what documentation you would need to prove you had been treated but that’s what they would need if your in that situation) the pathology was right down the hall from her office, then radiology for a chest X-ray to check for TB which was in another building down the street. 
So the medical is $550 all up more if you need vaccinations which they do on the spot and charge for on the spot aswell.
It took a couple hours mostly waiting for different professionals to do their little bit and since the consulate won’t receive the results before my interview she said it will take a week or so to get there. 
I stressed out for nothing it was very low key just like a normal GP visit comfortable casual clothing is ideal.I hope this may help someone as OCD as myself wanting to know exactly what it entails. My take away was that  positive TB Syphillis or Ghonnorea (Spelling?) are the main barriers to the visa for medical reasons and we are lucky that we live in a first world country.

So I got approved pending my medical exam tomorrow. Consular officer was really nice and the actual interview was short. He said he is giving me a refusal notice but as soon as he gets the medical results he will issue the visa :)

Just got an email from the consulate and I'm scheduled in for October 7th!!!

Mine was 14 days ago they approved our expedite and the status just changed to ready on Friday too! hopefully we get scheduled an interview this week fingers crossed!

Hubby is now with me in the States! For those with or having a LAX POE, the immigration process was about 5 minutes long. Customs was also quick minus a delay due to the baggage carousel breaking down. Wishing everyone speedy interviews and safe travels! The planes were all booked to capacity so there wasn't any social distancing, which was not ideal, but he made it here!

Same for me -Embassy confirmed they received my case on Monday and that 'We will reach out to you shortly with detailed instructions on how to proceed.' Still haven't received said instructions/interview scheduling information -have you had any more luck? At risk of being impatient, I wondering if I should just call them up and ask (I've been emailing them so far but usually takes a day or two to get a response) 🤔

Mine expired August 31st so just after the expiration date I emailed Sydney to request my visa gets sent to them (expediting) which got approved and it just arrived at the embassy today.
SO 10000% email them with your own personal expedite  
 
 

Had my interview yesterday he said I was approved but waiting on my medical and I need to send them the official police certificate when it arrives in the mail!!! 🤗 
 
Now in quarantine.

That's awesome! Yeah I believe mine is the same. I'm DQ'd and my case is stuck at NVC. Hopefully my approval is only a few days behind yours then!

For anyone wondering...My expidite was approved!! Interview next Tuesday!! 🤘

you can try. nothing wrong with trying. you never know as USCIS is a bizarre organization. just dont get your hopes up

@MissOphelia Isn't it SO NICE when you're just rIGHT THERE???? I hope your passport arrives quickly! It took 3 days for the passport to be delivered to Sydney CBD -.-
 
@ChelseaLAllen JK you're a K-1, no you won't be passed around between the two. It'll be a yes or no, and if yes, you'll be moved to the consulate for your interview.
