jandn_ukraine got a reaction from Myroslava in kyiv embassy open?
Had our interview today and approved! Fiancée showed up half hour early at Kyiv embassy and it was nearly empty. After being escorted in, kind woman asked for various documents and after this collection my fiancée was asked to sit and wait for interview at window.
After a short time (assuming docs were good) she was asked to come to window and a man gave interview. She was first asked what language and she chose English,, maybe it helps case?
my fiancé was asked about our meeting and where, what do I do for a living, what does my fiancé love about me and what does she dislike. My fiancé was honest and said that we needed more time to get to what could annoy her, but everything is wonderful now and we get along very well. She thinks that the way she answered was helpful because she was just answering as honest as she could and the the man said congratulations, smiled and you are approved!
My fiancé didn’t get any paperwork besides a half page of paper with approval and to wait up to 14 days for visa back (if delivered) or could pick up in 5 days.
Those that are still waiting.. remember to double, triple check paperwork, be open and forthcoming with honest answers and everything will work out.
We’re still a little in shock that we made it. Still doesn’t feel real. The waiting is over and the feeling of sometimes despair because of this extended waiting and uncertainty has been a struggle, but it was worth it. We believe that they want you to succeed in Kyiv, just do your part.

I bought her and her son a ticket on Turkish Airlines for Nov. 8th from airport in Ukraine -> Istanbul -> New York, which I've read is OK. I am unaware of any other documentation that would be needed to do this without quarantine, etc. Is there another document(s) needed?
I would think the passport stamps / tickets/ itinerary is enough to prove that they arent in a zone that cannot travel.

jandn_ukraine got a reaction from USUK8 in Ukraine Embassy Virtual Town Hall Sept 2nd - Can ask visa q's
Yes.. hoping to see updates from some of you that have had NOA2's from January - March. Im hopeful it should go quick. Looking at past months (prior to Covid) the Kyiv embassy could process around 1000 visas per month, the vast majority being work visas. I think in Feb 2020, there was around 950 work visa approved, and am I correct in thinking that those require interviews as well? Even at not full capacity, I could assume the backlog of K1s could be processed in days, not weeks. Again, hopefully!

jandn_ukraine got a reaction from Myn4kix in When K1 interviews resume will it be a free for all or in order of NOA2 date?
All info points to they are contacting people in order of their NOA2 approval date. For instance, I forget the country, but they explicitly said that March and April NOA2's were going to be contacted first.

jandn_ukraine got a reaction from USUK8 in Ukraine Embassy Virtual Town Hall Sept 2nd - Can ask visa q's
I cant imagine it would be a huge backlog. If focused on K1's and no or limited work or student visas left, the process to clear several months worth should be several days if not just a couple weeks. There's 30 or so VJ members waiting for Ukraine interviews (I think) so even multiplying that by 5 is 150, and how many can they potentially clear (or have cleared) per day?
I'm not sure where to look, but seeing how many student visas they cleared in the last couple of weeks would be a good indication on how quickly things will happen.
Finally!! My fiancee and I are cautiously excited.

Not sure about other embassies doing similar, but US Embassy in Ukraine is having a virtual town hall on Sept. 2, when US citizens can ask Visa related questions. Assuming their doing this due to the lack of information and progress in regards to K1's and other non-processed visas.

jandn_ukraine got a reaction from NoMansLand2020 in 7 Year Old Child on K-2 Starting School Valid Reason for Expedited?
Hello all,
I couldnt find if this specifically was answered before, but being that "School starting" is a reason to expedite a visa, does a child listed on K2 with my fiancee's K1 a valid reason if I can enroll them in school in United States and provide documentation? It's not specifically listing college aged students, but I also wasnt sure if expedited process also pertains to K1/K2's.
The county is Ukraine. I will try to contact them, but thought I would check here as well.
Thanks in advance!
