sailbum got a reaction from OldUser in Question - Translating Documents
I found inexpensive certified translators from Pakistan on Fiverr.com. Was like $5 per page. Multiple language options. Was 2 day turn around.

Even though I could have done it, at that price it was easier to have someone else handle it.

sailbum got a reaction from Chancy in I-864 instead of I-134 for Affidavit of Support?
Managed to fill out the I-134, signed, scanned, and emailed.

She went in with a folder of 75+ pages of various documents,  not just the Affidavit of Support.  And was approved, pending sending in an original of one document that she only brought a photocopy of.  Sigh. Always something.

It has been 22 months since I filed the I-129F. Hopefully it will go faster for you.

We had issues getting appointments scheduled. The doctor refused to schedule an appointment before we had the embassy appointment set. But the embassy was not offering many appointments and when they did the doctor didn't have available appointments prior to the embassy date. That delayed nearly 4  months.

I'm not sure how fast they will have the visa ready for pickup. She might have to stay a few days past the interview to collect the visa. The embassy told my fiancée that she has to come back in person to collect the passports with visas. They wouldn't send them by Servientrega or DHL.

We got my fiancée and her son an AirBnB over in Chapinero for this weekend. There are probably cheaper options but felt it was better to have a full apartment and kitchen space in a safe part of the city for a stay of 4 days, especially with a young child (11yo boy). It was only about a 15 min taxi ride to the embassy.

sailbum got a reaction from TBoneTX in Who else met their fiance in person - not online first?
I met my fiancee while I was on vacation in Colombia in June 2005.  She was away from her hometown working.

We saw each other a few times that week. As my flight was departing I had this sense that I should not be leaving. Many emails and chats ensued.

By November 2005 she was back to her hometown and I went to visit and meet the family. Twenty three family and friends were waiting to size me up when I got to her home!

We have visited back and forth many times since then.
