  1. Hi everyone!

So, after so long, at the end of this week we'll have our AOS interview with my wife and we're getting everything ready for it, and we're not sure about a few things that I hope someone could guide us with!

We started the K1 visa process more than two years ago, it went well but before I got to have the interview for it, the shutdown happened and I wasn't able to get that done. Later on I visited my now wife, got stuck in the states because of travel bans, we married and abandoned the K1 route to go straight to AOS

Do we have to print and take the I-129f with the rest of our evidence to the interview, or it doesn't matter anymore because we abandoned that process?

Also, do we have to print all the evidence we originally sent in our I-130 packet? Because we sent like 300 pages of chats, plane tickets and small stuff. Compared to that, now that we've been living together for more than one year we have much better evidence like shared bank account statements, internet and phone bills, and more, and that I do have printed and ready to take to the interview.

Thank you everyone on this forum, we wouldn't be here without all of your help!

  2. I'm glad to see things are moving to you all! Things look like they are starting to move fast! A few days after the biometrics appointment I got the update saying the case was ready to be scheduled (October 4th), and on the 15th I got the update saying the case was scheduled. Hopefully the letter with the interview notice comes this week, I can't wait! For the ones still waiting, good luck! And for the ones that already made it, congrats!

  3. Found late this post, but I also filed during March.

    Timeline as of now:

    March 12 - Package sent

    March 15 - Package received

April 8 - SMS case received

    April 13 - Received NoA1 via Mail of I-130, I-485 and I-131

Sadly I didn't read before that the I-944 was discontinued, and I sent it with the rest.  Hopefully soon we'll get the biometrics appointment letter.

  4. Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well!

I'm almost finished filling everything and we're going over things again just in case and we're doubting with my wife about these parts on the I-944. During the "Your household assets" we included everything we both have, but after, the Liabilities/Debts and the Credit Score and Report questions should be of both or only me the beneficiary? I already have the evidence of not having credit score and I have no debts, so we're just confused if writing yes or no as she has a credit score and report plus some debts.

Thank you so much to all of you on this helpful forum and I hope you have a nice day!

Only if full i-485 fee was paid: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/forms/i-485instr-pc.pdf

Filing Form I-485 with Forms I-765 and I-131
If you properly file Form I-485 and pay the required fees, you may file Form I-765 and Form I-131 without paying additional fees. You may file these forms together, or if you choose to file Form I-765 or Form I-131 separately, you must also submit a copy of your I-797C, Notice of Action, receipt as evidence that you filed and paid for Form I-485.

Hi, I was just looking at that, as I'm finishing the packets and I was still in doubt with that. The fully paid I-485 would be the fee of it plus biometric services right? So if the check is for $1225 it would still cover for the I-765 abd I-131 too?

  6. Congratulations to you and your husband! I'm glad it was so quick for you and everything went well!

Can I ask you something about your english studies? Did you evaluate your First Certificate diploma or did you send it as it is? I have the same one and I'm going to send the rest of my stuff to evaluate now and I was doubting if I should send that one too.

We're doing the same thing.  We just sent off our massive application yesterday!  Good luck!

Awesome! Thank you and best of luck!

We are in the same boat too. We included the alien number and sent a copy of the NOA2 just to show the alien number also. I’m sure if they don’t need it they will disregard it.

We sent a letter (uploaded) one to the NVC website contact form requesting the withdrawal of the approved K1 and we received a letter saying they received our withdrawal request and the petition was sent back to Uscis.

    Hope this helps.

Perfect, thank you for your advice! I'll try to send a leter as you did.

Alien number is yours assigned for life.

No need to submit NOA2 for i129f.

You will need a concurrent filing of an i130

    Thank you for the info!

Please also don’t just ignore the k1 now- please call to withdraw it. Keeping it active/being processed holds the wait time up for others.

Will do! I don't want to delay anyone's process but the opposite. I'll give them a call as soon as I can. Thank you!

  9. Hi everyone, I think I saw this asked before quite long ago but after searching for a while I wasn't able to find the answers I need, so I need to ask you a few things.

Early this year with my then fiancée we filled out the I-129f packet and send it to USCIS and got the NOA1 around March. After the COVID outbreak happened, we fought hard to be able to reunite after months of being apart, and I was able to enter the States not long ago. It started just as a visit to be together and I had tickets to come back to Spain, but close to the date of my flight, it got cancelled, and I tried to get new ones but the same thing happened twice after. After all that we decided to abandon the K1 and just get married and adjust, and that's where we're at right now.

Thing is, we just got the NOA2 for the I-129f, and with it, my Alien Number, so it pop up a few questions I cannot find answers.

Should I use that Alien Number for the forms we're filling right now(I-485, I-944, etc.), and also attatch the NOA2 on the AOS packet? Or as we abandoned that we should just ignore that?

Thank you so much for your help!

How long did you tell them you're staying for?  I'd like him to stay for either the time he gets an interview or the full 90 days, though not sure if they will like to hear staying up to 90 days.

Sorry for the late response, I've been busy as hell. I said two months, as I had the plane tickets to return for that exact date, he asked me if I had return tickets, I said yes, but he didn't ask me to show them.

Did you tell them you visiting your partner? Did you have a return ticket already? Thank you!!

Yeah actually I was entering with my partner, as we reunited in Mexico a few days before our trip back, so I said that it was my turn to visit her. I do have a return ticket, and it's always good to have it, mostly if you're planning on staying quite a bit like me (almost two months). I was surprised that they didn't ask me to show it, but if you have your return ticket, it's always good to have it ready just in case they ask you for it.

I'm glad you're doing the same, best of luck!

Was everything fine? I will stay in Aruba for 15 days. How did it go, any questions they asked, or what do you suggest to say? Also did the arline gave you any trouble to board? Who did you fly with? Thank you!!

Everything went well! I travelled with KLM to Mexico and then American Airlines to the states. The airlines were fine, they just ask you the reason to go to Mexico in my case, and no problem boarding. While entering the states you'll be asked a lot of questions, but it's the same thing as every time you enter with the ESTA. Questions about your reason for entering and how long will you stay, what do yo do for a living and where, and then some extra questions to know that everyhing you said is the truth. The best suggestion I can give, is to always be honest. It doesn't matter how many or how weird the questions are, as long as you're saying the truth, they will know.

Safe travels and if you need anything else let me know!

Last time when I entered the states in December I flew with Aer Lingus with a layover in Dublin. They have CBP before you enter the plane in Dublin. It was weird, I was so nervous because of these questions and then I was only asked where I’m going to. That was it lol.
But I will definitely be prepared and I am for sure only telling the truth. I genuinely just want to see my boyfriend even if it’s just for a week or two.

Thank you once again for making me feel more secure with this way to do it and all the best for you and your fiancé.

Haha yeah some airlines and countries do that. And it's not only to us, but also to US citizens. Last time my fiancée came to visit me and had to go back to the states, she got asked a lot of questions of why she was out of the country and stuff. So we're not alone in that lol.

I hope you can reunite with your boyfriend soon and enjoy being happy together!

Oh my lord! This just made my day as I’m going to do the same at the beginning of July. So glad to hear that it works with an ESTA too!

Happy for you! Thanks for sharing!!

Thanks! I'm glad sharing it was of help even if it's just a bit!

The only advice I can give different from the rest as you're gonna enter with the ESTA same as me, is to be prepared to be questioned about werid stuff lol. It was more or less the same thing as the last time I entered here, but I got asked what do I do for a living, and then he asked a bunch of random questions about that to be sure I wasn't lying(as I'm a chef he started asking for my  specialties and some recipes lol). As always, as long as you're saying the truth it will all be alright and you'll get in in 5 minutes. Best of luck!

I accompanied my friend to the airport today, she left for the US after quarantining here for 14 days (we spend 9  days together), and she just got to the USA!

Thank you for sharing the news! Knowing that makes me a bit hopeful! In two days I'll be doing the same with AA too, so I hope everything goes well like her!

For everyone staying at Cancún, even if locals are not wearing masks, please wear yours! It is mandatory by law, and even if locals don't do it and nothing happens to them, the police is looking for tourists not wearing them to fine them. I hope everyone stays safe and hopefully all of us can reunite with our loved ones soon!

Hey! Do you mind sharing where you’re staying? I’m curious and happy to hear from you!

Sure thing! I'm staying in this Airbnb https://www.airbnb.mx/rooms/19431839?source_impression_id=p3_1591815018_IdcHint6yG0bZMk1&guests=1&adults=1

The place is a bit far from the city center, but that makes it very quiet, has a private beach and the host is great too. The only downside is the distance to the city center, but it's only ten minutes with an Uber, and it costs only like three bucks so I don't mind at all!

I'm so glad for all the people that already made it to Mexico, and I hope everyone reunites with their loved ones soon!

That sounds really nice! Thank you! I was going to stay at the nyx hotel. Do you feel comfortable in Cancun? My flight to the US is from Cancun to Miami with American Airlines. How do you plan on getting back?

Yeah it's pretty nice! Haven't done much yet because of the storm plus I was super tired after the trip so I mostly stayed and rested. I used Uber yesterday to go to the city center for groceries without problems. They still have some restrictions so they cannot go all the way in to the airport or pick people up in the same spots as taxis but apart from that all good. The past few days were very humid but now the climate is completely different and very enjoyable!

I'll go also from Cancún to the states with AA but with two flights, first to TX then to MO with my ESTA, and I'm praying that everything goes well, because it's been five months since the last time we were with my fiancée and we both can't wait to be together.

Either way, I am still not 100% sure If I want to go to Cancun, I saw there are tropical storms and a bunch of thunderstorms in Cancun. It’s the wet season. If someone who is already there could let me know, I would be very grateful!

I'm here in Cancún since last Monday and already saw a bit of how the climate works. The past few days there was a big storm called Cristobal, and that's why there was a lot of rain and wind here and in a lot of places in Mexico. We're indeed in the hurricane season, but just in the beginning, so the climate varies in very nice days and some mild rain and wind until the start of August until the end of October, so there's not much to worry about. I'm staying in front of the beach were the wind felt strong but nothing bad happened. And today was the total opposite, is a incredibly gorgeous day! I also went to do groceries to the city center during one of those bad days, and there the wind was super chill and everyone was doing normal life.

If I can be of help with anything else let me know! And glad you made it to Mexico!
