  1. Just went for interview this morning and status just changed to "new card is being produced"!

I was admittedly a little sloppy with the documents, so don't follow my example. Try your best to bring everything but if you can't get originals don't panic either. I got away with bringing minimal documents:

    • copy of birth certificate (officer asked for original but I gave copy and she accepted it)
    • real marriage certificate
    • both of our passports
    • documents to prove legitimate marriage: tax return, joint accounts, leases, bills, photos (around 10-12)
    • previous student visas, EADs, etc. (wasn't asked for them)

Questions are very cookie-cutter: how did you meet? spouse birthdays? parent-in-law names? spouse birth place? spouse's job? current address? We finished in maybe 15 minutes and officer said there was no red flags when asked.

Great experience in the end after a frustrating wait with EAD.

Hey guys, my interview is next week, I was wondering how many photographs did you take to the interview? Did you include everything from the begging of relationship or just recent? also did you make an album or just put it into a folder or printed it out from slides? thanks!

I brought about 5-6 pages of photos, with 2/3 on each page.

I haven't even started yet! Lol. A few VJers from NYC recommended Dr. Ripa and I was planning on going to him as well but have yet to contact him:

I went to a doctor in queens (they have offices in other boroughs I believe). They were one of the cheapest when I shopped around. just google Dr Syed S. Hassan.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check them out.

Congrats!!!! Sorry if I missed if you already provided the information.  But when did you submit your expedite request?

That's around 2 weeks ago. They reached out with an email asking me to fax the documents over after about a week.

    I faxed the following:

    • short cover letter succinctly explaining the situation
    • job offer letter
    • my parent's medical expenses (not HUGE but still hundreds per month)
    • the original notice that they sent you

You should be able to fax documents online or at any print shop. Let me know if you need any more information!

Hey guys! It's been a while.

I finally got the letter yesterday that my biometrics (code 3) appointment has been scheduled! 😁

I'm glad to see so many people on here have been seeing movement with their cases too! Hopefully all of us July filers will have our EADs in hand soon!

That's great news! I look forward to the day this thread is about GC interviews instead of EADs and biometrics.

I am so glad someone else saw this too! I noticed it yesterday and I feel like last week it was only 8.5 months.  And the fact I just wrote "only 8.5" months has me rolling my eyes 😂....😪

Check out the Advanced Parole though.  It's September 2020, so currently anyone who submitted in July 2020 can submit an out of processing time request.

I did submit an inquiry for my AP. They said to expect a response 10 days ago and still haven't heard back.

I saw some New Yorkers who got their EAD in Jan. Did bio last Dec as well and still no sign of EAD for me. I called USCIS to expedite even if I have no job offer yet. Hopefully, when someone sees that my EAD has been pending for almost 2 months, it's gonna get it moving again.

Same here. Bio on 12/22, received letter that fingerprints cannot be processed, going back on 2/18 to retake fingerprints.

No sign of EAD/AP approval yet. It's been almost 7 months.

Hi there. Is your EAD still no approved? Mine has not changed for more than a month now. I figured I'll go ahead and start applying and just apply for expedite when I get a job offer.

    Nope, not yet.

Based on what I read, it's hard to get EAD expedited unless you have something else besides having a job offer. It's worth trying though, I might do it soon if I don't hear anything.

    Congratulation!!!!

I've just request to expedite my case this morning for financial loss. What was your reason and what proof did you give?

I basically have a job offer and I have no income at the moment.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi Elle53,

What other reason did you give besides you have no income? Based on what I read, that alone is insufficient so I'm wondering if you included other information.

I just got a job offer too but my EAD is still "case was received" (biometrics on Dec 22), super strange.

    Thanks

Happy that worked out for you!! I filed in early July as well and did my biometrics for i-485 and i-765 on January 8th. No updates as yet but glad to see that you and I have a similar timeline and you are making progress! Good luck!!

UPDATE:  I-485 status is "Ready to be scheduled for Interview as of January 15th! Did biometrics on the Jan 8th.

Wow that is super fast! I did my biometrics more than 2 weeks before you did and still no updates yet...
