    Did you not qualify before?
Did you provide a joint sponsor to NVC

Is there another thread where you asked about this before?
Are you expecting to be approved at the interview with no further documents needed?

I made a thread before where we asked about a joint sponsor. But now petitioner has a new higher paying job that is more than enough to qualify!

I decided to upload the new i864 before the interview. I had the interview today and everything went well. They did ask but when I explained the petitioner had a new job they knew why I uploaded it :)

  2. Hi all. My interview is very soon and the petitioner has changed job within the last few weeks and we want to know if it is worth updating the i864 as the new job is better pay. They asked us to take a joint sponsor to the interview and we have all those documents ready also. Is it worth changing the i864 and uploading new paystubs or will it be useless at this point?

Be sure and check your date for the Tdap or Td boost. You need one dated since Sept 2011.

I can’t see it on the list I have for myself.  Or at least it was before the date said. Hopefully that is one they offer on the day, I don’t mind paying the extra knowing it’s going to be what I need!

    EDIT: I had a low dose February 2010 :(

Becker you are allowed waivers for shots “not age appropriate” (Polio, Rotavirus, Hib, Hep A, Hep B, Meningococcal, Pneumococcal )
Waiver for influenza “not flu season” (exam before Oct 1)

Waiver for varicella “not readily available” (because they don’t give that in the UK)

So on Sept 29, that leaves you 2 jabs to prove you’ve had.

    MMR (mumps/measles/rubella)

    Tdap (Tetanus/diphtheria/ pertussis)

MMR you probably had as a baby

Tdap needs a Tetanus/diphtheria booster if your shot was more than 10 years ago. The booster they give in the UK is named Revaxis

The official information is found in the Technical Instructions for Panel Physicians. Get it from there instead of forums, then you are assured it is accurate. https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/vaccinations.html

That’s incredible. Thank you for that information! I have checked records and I have both of those!

  5. Hi all. I have another question about vaccinations as I have seen a lot of contradicting information

My medical is scheduled for September 29th and I am unsure on the vaccines I may need. I have seen the CDC list which is fairly long but I have also seen another list where 19-59 year olds do not need certain vaccines?

also, as flu season starts October 1st does that mean I will not need that either?

You do not have to have Covid vax with medical before 1-Oct. Done.

Yes. Your medical will say you are complete.

Do go get that second shot on NHS. Important for yourself, spouse, little kids that can’t be vaccinated, etc.

I got it sorted. They didn’t let me have it for a while because I got the first one in US and it caused a lot of drama with the NHS. I got it expedited though to 3 days ebfore my medical :)

  7. Can’t seem to find answers about this specifically. The new requirement for having the Covid vaccine states.

This requirement is effective Oct. 1, 2021, and applies prospectively to all Forms I-693 signed by the civil surgeons on or after that date. We are working on updating Form I-693 and the form instructions to incorporate this new requirement.”

I cannot get my second vaccine until October 10th with the NHS but my medical is before October 1st.

Will i pass the medical as my Interview is going to be October 8th?

I was DQ'd on the 30th June....it wouldn't surprise me if they are experiencing staff shortages.

BTW does anybody know whether the status should change when you login to NVC? Right now it's says it's still at the NVC, does this actually change? I'm guessing it's not very reliable.

I’d also like to know this? Be easier to check CEAC instead of wait for an email if the website does update

Hi all, just trying to get a rough timeframe on how long people are waiting to get an interview date from DQ?

I'm hoping to get an update on our petition from the NVC towards the end of this month/start of October.

Just from looking at past DQ dates, June 16 is the latest to get an interview. So It is likely most if not all of July DQs could get interview dates for October. It all really depends on how may people have been DQ'd.

@JonnyB @Becker Just checked out the page for the K1s Backlog in London for K1 visas (Fiancé(e) of U. S. citizen) (visawhen.com) - Went from 35 in May to 108 in June. Maybe I guessed right?

Yeah that sounds right! I didn’t really think there were more refusals I just thought maybe they are scaling down the amount of appointments going out. The number of K1s going up may be the reason!

it’s all mind blowing really. September interviews included DQ dates from late March all the way until mid June. Whereas before it was more of a monthly DQ basis.

Just checked the statistics. Not sure what you mean, in June there were 26 CR1 issuances and 31 IR1s. Total 57. July was 12 CR1s and 39 IR1s in London. That's 51. Not much of a difference!

Bear in mind June was the month of President Biden's visit to the UK - Shipping everyone down to Cornwall around the early middle of the month (he arrived on the 9th) when the time they release appts seems to be 9th-15th each month probably had something to do with it!

Used the stats from here: Monthly Immigrant Visa Issuance Statistics (state.gov)

Sorry I meant from May! Not June. My fault!

May has so many more approvals

You are married, so the courthouse wedding obviously is sufficient.

I did the K-1, and during my visa interview I was asked about our wedding plans. I said we were just planning to do a courthouse wedding because the visa process and international move were stressful enough and we simply did not have the time and energy to plan for a huge wedding. The officer said she completely understood and probably would do the same, and that she hoped it would still be a special day for us.

At my AOS interview, we were asked about how we got married. My husband said, "at the courthouse, quick and easy". The officer laughed and moved on to the next question.

It really is no big deal. You got married the way that worked best for you. Just answer any questions they may ask, and don't stress about it.

(Just to add: in some countries/cultures it would be very unusual to have a simple courthouse wedding, and in those cases it might cause issues. But your profile says you are from England, so in your case it is not an issue.)

Thank you. This is exactly what I needed to hear

  13. Hopefully this is the final question I ask as I prepare for my interview.

I just wanted to ask about interview questions about a courthouse wedding. That's where we married and we just want to make sure I am prepared for any possible questions about why that was the route if asked. We did not include any pictures from the ceremony as we only have one. We married with the intention of being together and starting our lives together and plan on doing it properly once we are together.

Does anyone have experience of questions asked about this? We also had no witnesses at the ceremony as it was not required.

    Thanks

  14. I have a question and thought it is easier to write here than make a new post. Does your first initial submission date have any effect on the queue for an interview? My DQ was July 15th from NVC and fingers crossed we will be receiving an interview date next month. (I just noticed most people getting their interview dates today submitted their first application months before us

Is this a yes to uploading joint sponsor documents in CEAC or yes to bringing them to the interview? How does it work if you upload documents in CEAC after DQ?

Asking as we are in a similar position - planning to use assets to qualify but have a joint sponsor I-1864 and all supporting documents (tax transcript, W-2s, paystubs) that we were going to bring to the interview as a Plan B.

I think if you are planning to use it as a plan b then I wouldn’t upload them to CEAC. But if you know you are definitely going to use them then upload them. I believe that any documents extra that are taken to the interview, it has a slight delay on your case as they need them on CEAC. So it’s your call really.

personally for me, I think I will wait until the interview is scheduled and then add the additional documents to CEAC at that point. Then I doubt there should be any delays. Sorry I know my wording is terrible but I hope it makes sense
