  1. Thanks all for info!

    Quick update:

    1. Applied for Global Entry as Permanent Resident (conditional 2-yr green card)

    2. Two days later after submitting application, global entry application was "conditionally approved"

    3. Made appointment for global entry interview

    4. Did global entry interview

    5. One day later after interview, global entry application was approved! yay!

    Thanks

  2. Update regarding to the RFE for completing a I-693:

the RFE was cancelled a week after being issued. Then I-485 case was APPROVED one day after the cancelled RFE.

We're a bit skeptical if this is true because USCIS local field office made mistake on issuing our RFE. Maybe they made another mistake by cancelling RFE?? Not 100% sure what is going on now since we're doing our best to follow what is being requested.

We'll cancel our I-693 appointment with the civil surgeon and be keeping an eye on our case.  Hopefully green card will will be received in the next week!

See image below of case history and USCIS letter for approval.

  3. Thought I give an update:

Just got RFE requiring submittal of completed form I-693 (report of medical examination and vaccination record). See below for RFE letter.

We're planning on moving forward with getting remaining vaccination to meet the minimum requirements. Even if series of shots are required to complete vaccination, only need one shot of each required vaccine to complete I-693.

    https://www.uscis.gov/tools/designated-civil-surgeons/vaccination-requirements

    https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/civil-surgeons/vaccinations.html#anchor_1506438009968

also screenshot of table 1 below

Then we're going to find uscis civil surgeon to do the full examination. We're not going to debate/argue with USCIS on this since we don't know what is our chances of winning the argument. Not the best situation to be in with this RFE, but quickest solution is to complete I-693.

Even though our DS-3025 was complete and submitted, we still received this RFE. But, sounds like a lot of people are getting this same RFE requiring completed I-693. This is possibly due to the recently adjusted hepatitis b age requirements (which were extended to 59 years old), see forum post below.

  4. Just received EAD, and waiting for AP. EAD has words "not for re-entry". Looks like we're in the same boat of not receiving combo EAD/AP card.

Can we ask/apply for combo EAD/AP card after we received EAD and AP separately? Or not worth the hassle and additional wait time to officially get a combo card?

Thought we ask since It seems more convenient to carry around 1 item instead of 2 items while traveling.

    thanks

  5. Hi all,

See attached/uploaded picture of fiance's completed DS-3025. It is marked complete "K Visa applicant voluntarily completed vaccination requirements", even though there is no record date for Td or TDAP and marked as "D. Not Routinely Available". Fiance doesn't have Td/TDAP shot within the past 10 years.

Does fiance need to get TD/TDAP shot for the AOS process? It seems the instructions require fiance to receive TD/TDAP even if DS-3025 was marked completed.

If need TD/TDAP, Is this a good sequence to follow?

    1. fiance first submit AOS (I-485) with the DS-3025 without TD/TDAP record date.
    2. get TD/TDAP shot within the next few months
    3. have a civil surgeon complete the I-693's vaccination portion (parts  1-5, 7, and 10) before the AOS interview date
    4. fiance bring the I-693's vaccination portion to the AOS interview?

Is it likely that we'll get RFE because TD/TDAP was not administered prior to filing I-485? Does RFE allow fiance to submit updated I-693's vaccination portion during AOS interview?

Do we need to write an explanation in I-485 that "Updated I-693's vaccination portion (parts 1-5, 7, and 10) is to be provided at interview date." ?

We referenced some other threads, but wasn't clear on what to do before and after submitting AOS with DS-3025 that has no record date for TD/TDAP.

    Thanks!

Panel Physicians also accept the ones listed for emergency use by the WHO: https://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/panel-physicians/covid-19-technical-instructions.html

The exact details for boarding flights to the US starting early November are still not available, so I won't comment on that.

    See the above referenced link.

I was able to backcheck the WHO list of Emergency Use, and my fiance's vaccination is on the emergency use list (EUL):

    https://extranet.who.int/pqweb/sites/default/files/documents/Status_COVID_VAX_29Sept2021_0.pdf

    https://www.who.int/teams/regulation-prequalification/eul/covid-19

Though, still a bit confusing for us since:

    • Fiance completed medical exam about 4 weeks prior and completed interview about 3 weeks prior to US announcement requiring foreign travelers to be vaccinated.
    • Fiance's medical exam documents don't include the covid-19 vaccination, however fiance was able to get separate documents to show vaccination record of covid-19
    • Fiance planning to enter US in November.

Hopefully, this is enough covid-19 vaccination proof for fiance to enter US with K1 visa. Not very clear directions and have to research around to hopefully find an answer.

  7. Wondering if the "covid-19 vaccination requirements for foreign visitors" is applicable to K1 visa holders? or is there a NIE for K1 visa holders who are not vaccinated or are vaccinated by non-USA-approved/recognized vaccine?

I remember K1 visa holders were exempt from the former ban on foreign visitors entering US due to embassy giving K1 Visa holders a NIE (National Interest Exempt)

  8. Hi,

    Referenced to guides:

If K1 Fiance did not have SSN, it is recommended to apply for SSN about after 2 weeks upon arrival in US.

Since K1 Fiance already has an existing Social Security Number/Card from past J1 visa, Fiance does not have to submit any other application regarding to SSN? The Social security card has the note "Valid for Work Only with DHS Authorization".

Also, want to re-verify: After receiving card for AOS and/or EAD, do we update SSA that Fiance has EAD/AOS? And then SSA will send new social security card WITHOUT the note "Valid for work only....."???

During the wait for the updated social security card, is the AOS/EAD green card enough to meet the requirement of the old social security card's note "Valid for Work only...."???

    Thanks,

  9. Hi All,

We're still waiting to receive the visa K1's package P3 from Guangzhou Embassy and It's been over a month since we updated fiance's mailing address due to recent move. They did respond to our inquiry on May 9, 2021 about estimated timeframe for P3 being mailed out. Below is their response:

    May 9, 2021---------------------------------------

Please note that your case is currently under pre-interview processing.   In the next few weeks, we will send your fiancée a packet with instructions on how to complete the online DS-160 application form and submit the required documents.  Upon receipt of the required documents, we will contact you again with further instructions on how to schedule a visa interview.

    ------------------------------------------

    • Should we fill out DS-160 prior to receiving P3? or no?

    • Also, the following examples of P3 only ask for DS-160, copy of passport, and 2x2 photos. They don't mention requirements of medical examination, I-184 Affidavit support, birth certificate, etc. Are these other requirements (medical, I-184, etc) mentioned in the next packages/letters (e.g. P4)?

    • I'm wondering if any who recently got a P3 could please share or confirm if it is similar to example P3 that was posted on Visajourney forum? Fiance and I are trying to prepare the docs.

    Thanks,

  10. Hi All,

I was able to successfully update beneficiary's address and phone number. See image below for reply response from Guangzhou embassy to confirm updating address and phone. Thanks all!

I used this link for the Guangzhou embassy to send message with updated info:

    https://china.usembassy-china.org.cn/visas/immigrant-visas/contact-us/immigrant-visa-unit-question/

    updated address and phone.jpg

  11. I asked (sent an inquiry to Guangzhou embassy) about the address change. See picture for response.

Basically, they have a link available for address change while they pre-process the application before the interview gets scheduled. this is the same link I used when sending my enquiry. They mention its okay to use native language character for the address. Downside is the inquiry is limited to 280 characters.

    https://china.usembassy-china.org.cn/visas/immigrant-visas/contact-us/immigrant-visa-unit-question/

I will change address through that link, I'll report back to forum with results later.

  12. I'm not sure if guangzhou embassy typically mail or email the P3.

I did receive this email from NVC (see attached screenshot).

Maybe the P3 is available through one of the websites (ceac or embassy)? I'll have to look around those websites later. and I'll try emailing directly the embassy to ask if they typically mail/email P3.

    thanks!

  13. Hi all,

I believe our K1 case has been received by Guangzhou embassy from NVC (CEAC website says case is "Ready"), and fiance recently moved to new home (in same city).

We just started filling out the DS-160, and was wondering if filling out fiance's new home address in DS-160 was the correct spot for updating? After completing the DS-160 with fiance's new address, will the embassy be able to mail P3 to the new address? Or we need to put address change through a different method?

I am not sure if the embassy has already sent out the P3 to the old address.

I did look at this for reference: https://ustraveldocs.com/cn/cn-niv-deliveryaddressmodify.asp

However, it looks like that is applicable for when interview is already scheduled (we have not scheduled interview yet).

    Thanks
