  1. Hey everyone. My wife's i485 was recently approved and the green card was created and delivered. BUT we had an issue which is from what I understand to be common. We moved to a new address, used the change address function online, and the green card was still delivered to the old address. Since the USCIS system says it was delivered and not returned, I understand we need to file a form i90 for a replacement card. There is an associated filing fee that we would like to avoid paying if possible since we did the change address as instructed within 10 days of changing address. I've read in the past that people have been able to get the filing fee waived despite this situation not being specifically listed as eligible for a few waiver. Is that true? Can we file the i90 without including the fee but with evidence showing that we changed address appropriately?
  2. Hello VisaJourney We received an RFE requesting us to: The transcript is not yet available to download from the IRS website since we had to file by paper since my fiancee doesn't yet have her SSN. Should we send the W-2 and other supporting documentation or wait until the transcript is available in middle to late June. We have until July 15 to respond to the RFE. We already received an RFE earlier this year about the I864 and we sent tax returns for 2018-2020, a letter of employment verification, and recent paystubs so this RFE is a little confusing. I will happily send the information anyway. Wondering if it's better to wait for the transcripts or not.
  3. Thank you for the quick answer. It helps a lot. Is it safe to be married after applying or should we wait until we actually obtain the physical card?
  4. Hello, My fiancee is in America on a K1 Visa and she is worried that we need to actually have her SSN card before we get married. She is saying that if we get married, she will no longer have valid status as a K1 Visa holder and wouldn't be able to obtain a SSN card until she has her green card. Can anyone help with additional information that shows that's true? I'm having trouble understanding exactly what dates are important for obtaining the card. We found out today that we have to make an appointment to apply for the SSN card. The appointment is scheduled for October 21st and we have an appointment to apply for our marriage certificate on October 27th. The only date that I can find is important in relation to applying for the SSN card is to do it within 2 weeks of the I-94 expiring. Please help. She is very stressed about the process and it's starting to wear on me as well since I'm having a hard time finding resources that show we should or shouldn't be worried. Thank you so much.
  5. Yes, we received the NOA2 in June and the interview was at the end of last month (August) in Warsaw, Poland. The K1 visa was approved and we're together in America today. :)
